I need some advices about the Android OS and application.i wonder if the Android OS is able to push network connecting status to applications.(I found applications can get a network connecting status from android OS. But I can't find reverse cases.)However, I am thinking android OS may push network connecting status to applications.when application is installed on android os, is it possible to register something for monitoring phone's network status on android os.Because I want my application can receive phone's network status from android os.(not by asking directly to android os.) I have a Sprint Galaxy S3 and I've been trying for weeks to connect it to a PS3 controller. I got a usb to mini usb converter, downloaded the Sixaxis Controller app and rooted my phone, but after connecting to the controller and turning it on it just flashes while the app says "listening for controllers..." so I assumed I must have got a faulty converter ordered a new one, same results. Then I ordered gameklip after reading that it could connect with your controller just by plugging in a mini to micro cable and after it arrived I'm getting the same problem. The phone just doesn't seem to recognize that there's anything plugged into it. I've tried two different PS3 controllers. I've tried resetting them using a paperclip and the button on the back. I've tried resetting the phone multiple times. I've honestly tried everything I can think of. It just doesn't seem to work.
Everybody I can find on the internet seems to have no problem with either a wired or wireless method, but I can't seem to figure it out. I don't know if there's just something simple I'm missing or if there's some compatibility problem I don't know about, but I've spent over $50 trying to get this thing to work so I'd like to see that pay off.

Been pushed over to the new outlook app from hotmail yesterday. I the issue im having is that it wont connect and download/recieve/notify me of any emails if im on mobile internet. If i connect to my Wi-fi at home, within seconds they all come flooding in.
It does nothing if i try and refresh it either. I have 3 "hotmail" accounts on the app, all of which worked fine when still using hotmail app..

i got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone.
I just got my new Nexus yesterday and I have wi- fi that is working. when it says Select wi-fi I click on the connection that I use for my lap top and it won't connect. I have a ipod, phone and laptop that connects.

I've seen elsewhere there are possible issues with the Nexus 7 & also the Kindle Fire HD (which is/was an alternative for my wife) & could be down to 5ghz or 2.4ghz transmission on the router?

I have been struggling to make phone calls/send texts/go online without turning on WiFi. My phone rarely connects to the 4G network that I know is strong , because my dad's identical Galaxy S3 is quick to connect to it. My phone rarely connects to Edge either now. When I go into the "Search Mobile Networks" tab my phone just keeps searching and searching... and searching. I thought I had the solution a moment ago when I turned on and off Airplane Mode. My phone connected to 4G for a moment and I was able to send one text, but then it dropped back into nothingness. In addition, it takes nearly 30 seconds to switch into airplane mode after I select it.It's not the sim card because I tried it on a different phone and it works fine. My dad's a cynic when it comes to rooting and he's saying it might be because I rooted my phone, but this issue started two to three weeks after I rooted... is rooting a potential cause?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with connecting my Samsung galaxy S3 (android 4.3) to any of my PCs. Before everything worked fine but then I upgraded to android 4.3 and connections started crashing. It still worked but connections were unstable. So I installed Samsung Kies 3 and from then on I haven't been able to connect my device to any PC. I tried everything I found on web. I have developer mode and usb debugging on. I know my cable is OK because other devices work just fine. Someone suggested going to usb settings but apparently there is no such think in android 4.3 settings, so I downloaded some apps to change my usb settings but they all require a rooted phone. I tried rooting my phone but even for that I need to connect it to a PC. I really need to connect my phone to PC to test apps(android emulator lags waaay too much).

The tablet just doesn't see the device. (I already had this problem before I installed CM). Is there something I could change in order to make it visible to the tablet. Most people issues around this is that they don't pair when the device is visible. (I assume that it is not related to the CM)

The reason I ask is that I have a Samsung Galaxy Note with some files on a 32GB storage card within the phone and I want to transfer some of those files to my new Nexus 7 tablet that does not have a micoSD slot.
It would be nice if I could use my Note for external storage and wirelessly swap files back and forth on the fly to my Nexus 7 when needed.

Now, the extra thing I would need is that it turn GPS off and Wifi on again when disconnected from the bluetooth device.
I have used A2dp volume, which turned GPS on, but not off...
When I plug mk888 (android tv box) or Milestone 2 to my computer looking for drivers. Not so alone it is pointing. Installs however, there is code 10 Under windows 8 turned off checking the compatibility of the controller. I still have the same problem. I downloaded the drivers rockusb and the computer does not want to "accept". The same thing I have with drivers for motorola. The strange thing is that on another computer with Windows Vista I have the same problem.
I checked the original cable motorola and samsung.
Connected it without the debug mode (SD mode) and it worked. But when I turn these modes I can not get it to install the drivers.

I've an Orange HTC Sensation with ICS on it (official update). It's not rooted.
Orange have a Contacts Backup app that doesn't work but constantly and irritatingly tells you it's failed to connect. I don't want it or use it and I've uninstalled the updates so instead of trying to backup my contacts to Orange (which I never asked for) it comes up in "update available" lists and intrudes on my taskbar with the "1 update available" message.
Is there any way to stop it trying to update?
My tablet will not connect to ANY WiFi network anymore. Everything was working perfectly, but had to send the tablet to Asus for RMA because it would not charge anymore. But now, when i connect to my wifi network it just says its saved and does not connect" I figured maybe it was an issue with my network, so I went out and tested it with other WiFi connections. It can scan and detect everything, but the same thing happens while trying to connect to anything. My Sony phone and laptop are able to connect to everything perfectly, but the tablet will not, even to the networks which it has previously connected to.
Things I have tried:
-Deleted all networks by using the "Forget network" option and tried connecting again.
-Tried "open" type networks without any passwords.
-Rebooted the tablet several times.
-Done a factory reset, twice.
-Tried to analyse logcat data.
Do i have to rma it again..
So while I am fairly good with computers, I am pretty new to android phones. I have been trying for a few hours now to connect my phone (Galaxy S2 d710) to my computer to use in QPST and similar programs. The only way that I have been able to get it to connect in modem mode (not usb modem tethering, that is) is to turn my phone off and boot to the Odin flash page thing. Problem is, Odin is the only application that can communicate with my phone when it is like this. I have found several guides on how to change the usb settings temporarily to a modem connection, but all of the numbers and codes it tells me to type in either don't work, crash, or go to a blank page.
Just realized that I should probably note that I am rooted and running cyanogenmod.
I've heard that the Nexus 7 used to be compatible with Wacom drawing tablets, until the 4.2 update, and that rooting should allow me to bypass this problem.
I have just rooted my Nexus (first root ever, was pretty anxious xD), but I don't know what else I have to do to connect the Wacom lol.
Edit : Nooooo, auto-correct screwed up Wacom in the title xD, I guess I can't edit that part?
I just purchased an RCA audio/video adapter for my Galaxy Note 10.1, but I can't get the video to work. The audio comes through to the TV, but nothing on the video. Is there a setting that needs to be changed in the tablet? I hope to use it for slideshows on projectors as well as videos. The cable was purchased on Ebay as a genuine Samsung cable in new condition.

I have tons of PDF books and other files I would love to access via my phone. I have purchase a 5000mah battery to plug the phone and hardrive into so power is mot a problem. Is there a proceedure for doing this or some kind of program I need??
I personally think this would be an awsome thing to be able to do. Espcially for any smart phone! Just think it would be like having access to your big computer off your phone. I keep my whole computer data on several portable hard drive. When I want access I just plug them into a computer. If I have a computer issue I very seldom loose my data. I have it all backed up on data dvd's and can always put it on another portable hard drive. I can take my whole computer data base any where and use any handy computer.

I have a Samsung Note 10.1. I have a new XFinity modem that I have connected all my house phones and laptops to. On my note, when I leave the house and come back, my WiFi screen shows "Authentication Error" when I try to reconnect to the WiFi. Nothing I do-- restart Note, re-enter modem password, etc, will work to get it reconnected EXCEPT resetting the XFinity modem again...then in connects again...UNTIL I leave and come back again. Just got off the phone with Comcast/XFinity and they say everything is ok with my system.
