Any free app that encodes a photo label of the address (not lat, long), time and date?
My brother and I both just updated to the new firmware and noticed something.. Go and open up the Camera app (hold the red button) and tap "Switch to Video" and then tap it again so you are back in the picture mode. Look closely at the screen (point it at a white/black wall), do you see a couple light blue/green little dots in random spots? I noticed it on my phone first and then went and asked to borrow his and sure enough, his has them too. They don't seem to actually be in the pictures themselves.. just on the viewfinder screen.
View 49 Replies View RelatedSo I have tried about 10 apps so far that none seem to do what I am looking to accomplish.
I have a dial in phone system that allows me access to a dial tone. So if want to be able to select a number from my history, contacts or a clickable link and have it prompt which dialer I want to use. If I choose this app it should dial MY number and enter my access code THEN dial the number I was trying to call.
So for example I am trying to call 212-555-1212 and my number is 212-666-1212 it should dial:
212-666-1212[mynumber],,[pause]1234[accesscode],,[pause] 212-555-1212
I have found a few apps that seem to do this, however they have integrated them in such a way where it will only automatically enter into the "Calling card mode" based on dialing rules (Such as area code and country code) there is no way to manually select when to utilize the "calling card mode" and when not to,
I was thinking if there is a Alternative Dialer that supports calling cards, it will add the necessary hooks into the OS and then I can just manually select which app to use to make calls (Either the stock dialer or this new dialer)
I like to add addresses to my phone book in Android. As a lot of my contacts live in buildings i also like to add the floor and apartment number to the address: Looking like that:
Street and Number, Floor and Department number
Town, zip code
State
Country
Example;
Av. Whatever 12345, Floor 5-A
Buenos Aires 1007
Argentina
When clicking on the address the GPS of my wish opens , finds the country, city but not the street because of the additional Floor and department information. Without this additional information everything well with Google Maps or Sygic.
So, how should i add this additional Floor and department information to my address without the GPS has problems to find the main location. Also from ICS on there is only one filed to add the whole address not as with Gingerbread where you had a field for street, city, etc.
I really like my Evo but I find that some apps have banner adds at the bottom. The apps that do this include Astro, Stocks, Currency, Advanced Task manager Pro, AppBrain. The adds have written: "Adds by AdMob". How did I get these or is this normal? The adds really bother me, especially the religious ones.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust getting used to my HTC Desire, after reading your forum I was comforted regarding battery life and it seems much better now than the first few days.
I see another post on this but no answer, the address book only gives one line of the address is then any way round this? Even my first pda a Psion 3 had the option of which fields to display etc. there seems very little option to format what is seen, not that I am unhappy about the rest but to have to edit to see all the address is barmy.
Another thing way back then that still is not found is search all fields of the contacts, i.e. to find a number of someone that rang on another phone.
Can i get informed in my android application when a user adds a new entry in his calendar application (i.e. via listeners, ...) or is checking the calendar every now and then via the content provider of the calendar app the only solution to find out if the user has added new entries ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I cause my app to add a button to another app, the text messaging app for instance? I want to add a button and then listen for when it is pressed, at which point code from my app would execute. In the notepad exercise 1 tutorial from the dev guide, there's a link that says "add a button to an existing application!" but this just links to the common development tasks. I've searched this but haven't found anything helpful.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhenever an unknown number texts me, my phone is adding random facebook contacts to those numbers. For example, Orange texted me and it came through as being from this guy who is a friend of a friend who i have on facebook. It adds his name and profile picture to the top of those texts though and it's really annoying. It also started doing it with a second person (totally unrelated to the first), this time for texts from my bank. What i have discovered is that on facebook they both have a line in their info which says 'Mobile Number: " but then no mobile number (shown in the picture below), so i presume they've both put a space there and for some reason my phone has taken this and linked them to these unknown numbers. I've deleted both "Facebook for HTC Sense" sync and "Facebook" sync (not desirable, because i like seeing peoples profile pics and birthdays in my phone contacts), but it still happens. I also tried unlinking the first person from all of the links it had made, but that didn't work either. I have a HTC Hero running 2.1.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to let you all know about my new app. It's called Searchify, it's free, and it hooks in to the Quick Search Box (on Android 1.6 or higher) to let you do all sorts of things. Searching lets you perform translations, calculations, unit conversions, wikipedia searches, calendar entry and more just by typing in searches. Some of the things you can do with it: Unit converter: type a quantity (e.g. "10 pints" or "5 oz") into the search box to see a list of conversions. Calendar entry: Type an event in text (e.g. "tue 3pm meeting" or "tomorrow 3pm - thursday 5am event @ John's") to add it to your calendar. Translator: Type "translate" then a word or phrase in any language to see translations into languages of your choice.
View 14 Replies View RelatedDo the adds in free apps drain your battery? How do they work. Are they always connected to online? Well, i dont have any problems with the apps on my phone because they dont even show up. Does that drain my battery even more? I have a rooted phone and in all my apps that have ads only show some white circle showing that something is loading but no ads show. My battery only lasts 8-12 hours of use. And it sucks.

However, there is no content to be shown as everything fits the screen size. Does anyone know how can I avoid this behavior? I mean, if all content is being show, how can I disable horizontal navigation.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWith Google's voice action (or voice search), I can use the "navigate to" command to start the navigation app directly. However, this seems to work only with address, name of places. For example, I tried "navigate to 1234 main street" or "navigate to san jose airport" or "navigate to Starbucks on oakland road". The commands were recognized in all cases. For the last one, it prompted me with a list of choices for the end points, and once selected, proceeded correctly with the navigation.
However, if I say "navigate to John Doe home", although it also recognized the command correctly (i.e. it came up with the prompt "navigate to john doe home" and asked me to choose "go" or "cancel"), it would not come up with the correct address from the contact list as the end point to navigate to, but instead it would come up with a list of end points not related to John Doe at all, even if I have John Doe in my contact list (with the home address).
I googled around and it appeared that other users have also experienced similar problems, with some dating back 2-3 years ago. I just discovered this since I just switched from iPhone to a Samsung Skyrocket (with Gingerbread v2.3.6). Seems to be a simple problem to resolve. I can't believe that this problem is not (AFAIK) getting the attention of Google as I think this would be encountered by a lot of people.
Also I am wondering if there is a way to get around this beside giving the full address in the voice search command.
I have just bought a Freelancer PX2 and am reluctant to tweak it until I am happy it is working properly and have accepted delivery. But it comes up with a different MAC address every time it is turned on. The first 3 bytes are always 00:08:22: but the remainder appears to be random. I know MAC addresses can be spoofed, but I have never seen one that changes on an unmodded device.
PX2, whether this happens on their tablet, or whether the MAC address is fixed (as I believe it should be)?
