HTC Hero :: Caller Id Not Showing When Screen Locked / How To Fix

I am having to slide the screen down enter the unlock sequence and then see how is calling. I have missed several calls by doing this. I can reboot the phone and it is back to normal. When phone locked pops up who's calling and can answer. Works fine for a few calls and then back to having to unlock phone first. The screen will just flash on and off. I have looked for a setting and can't find one. Any ideas?

Every time someone calls in, there caller id isn't showing up. No name or no number. When i got into call history, all it says is unknown. Had it for 3 months, and it has never done this before. Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix?

When I wake my Hero up, it goes into the lock screen which you have to drag down to unlock.
For some reason, 1 song from my music is always there along with the music buttons (back, pause, forwards) yet pressing any of them doesn't do anything. Even if I play a different song. it will stay the same. Any fixes?
Regarding TasKiller, I usually press the red button at the top to kill all, this then brings up a random screen (mine now brings up the HTC Magic OS desktop) and I have to press the Home button to return to normal screen. Does this happen to anyone else?

there's a way to get the screen to automatically switch to home when the phone gets locked via time out or pressing the power button? Running ZenEXP/LP+/geekfor.me vanilla lockscreen.

How to either replace the in call screen or put something on top of it....the only solution I have found thus far is to make my own ROM, which doesn't make sense for such a small portion of an OS. however I found these two apps (Full Screen Caller Pictures and Full Screen Caller ID) that are able to put a contact image and button on top of the standard in call screen.

I think the answer to this is "no" I've spent this mornign playing with a Hero and really like it. I was wondering if there was any way, fro a privacy point of view, of NOT displaying the SMS preview at the bottom of the screen when the screen is locked - happy to show caller details - just don't want the text itself.

Froyo 2.2 issue. When I am on a phone call and another call comes through, that person's Caller ID contact list name does not come up, just their phone number (even though they are in my contact list). This did not happen on 2.1...it always showed the contact name info. why or if there is a setting to change?

I've got an HTC Hero on Telus, I'm trying to cut back a little on my monthly expenses (for all things including my cell phone) and I'm just wondering if I need to subscribe to caller ID to see the number? I heard from a friend (mind you, not a very tech-savvy friend) that you don't need caller ID in your monthly plan to see the number of the person whose calling you. Is this true? My carrier charges me 15 bucks a month for caller ID and unlimited texting, two features I feel I safely live without.I don't mind if no name comes up and it is just a number, I can live without a picture and name popping up for incoming calls, I just don't want it to say "Unknown Number" or something like my old crappy 10 year old cell phone did without it. Sorry, I am new to smartphones and thought I'd ask.

Is it possible to call screen of cm10 or 10.1 can appear more like miui call screen? I mean transparent. The default caller screen of cm10 is not good. Caller photo almost covered by black screen. You can't see the photo. In miui the caller screen is fully transparent it looks damn nice. So is there any modified apk or any way to make it transparent? Other than using third party app.

I'm greatly annoyed by GoogleDialer's phone app which shows caller picture blocked 50% by black blank area. What files do I have to edit to make picture more bigger or atleast make that blank space disappear?
I know that I could simply get another dialer but I like Google's version. That blank space just bugs me.

Probably just like most people on here I have been pretty miserable with my phone since updating to 2.1. In my case it is mostly because of all the caller lag problems everyone ellse has already stated, and because of eratic behavior with bluetooth in my car.I have been scanning the threads every few days and I haven't seen anyone complaining about the caller lag problem in a while, is there a fix that I have missed, or have people just gotten borred of complaining and are acepting it.

Suppose my application xyz stores a few contacts(just like in the address book/ telephone book). Other contacts are by-default stored in my Android address book. Suppose I receive a call on the handset with my app xyz running in the background. All I need is to fetch the Caller's name from the application xyz and display this name as" Akash Calling..." instead of "+91... calling..." assuming that caller's details are present in the application say, his name and none of his details in the actual address book. Is this feasible.

Is there a setting or an app to make incoming Pictures assigned to contacts take up the whole screen (like on the iPhone)? The picture just seems so small to me and i would like it bigger. I searched on the forums and in the Android Market and failed to find anything.Any ideas?

how can I hide the call screen and continue what I am doing .
or is there a way to remove the full screen caller id and replace it with a bar or notifacation ..like callbar for iPhone.

Anyone know if there is there a method to quickly withhold your number for outgoing calls as and when neccessary? Currently I do it via home/menu/settings/call settings/additional call settings/caller ID *phew* Ideally I would like to be able to toggle caller ID on/off from one of the homescreens..is that possible?

No matter what 2.1 rom I load, I can make/receive calls ok for a few minutes.... then suddenly I cannot hear anything - no matter if I am making the call, or receiving the call. Have to reboot in order to get it to work. AFter rebooting, same thing. Everything works for a few calls, then I cannot hear anything. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried loading the Fresh audio fix, but it did not fix.

I have been struggling for nearly 8 weeks (since Christmas Day) to try and get my Orange Hero unlocked (without rooting it). Orange insisted i had to be a customer for 3 months before they would give me a code but still would not refund the 20 they originally took for the code. So now i am trying to spread the word that it can be done pretty quickly for less than 10. Always a good idea to have HTC Sync (you can get this on the HTC website).

I have a sony ericsson X10, it has a security pattern lock on the phone. However this has gone off in my pocket and now the phone is locked. I can not remember the google email address for the phone and now i can not access the phone. Orange customer service has told me to get in touch with google, in order to delete the old account [whatever that may be] but there is no number for google customer service.

Is anyone else using GV with their HERO? My incoming calls are not displaying a caller ID. Anyone else having this issue?I just checked and even if I call my Sprint # directly I have no incoming caller ID displayed.This must be a Sprint issue and not Google Voice.
