General :: Barely Hear People On Other End Yet They Hear Me Fine?
May 8, 2013I've notice lately, after flashing a custom rom, that during calls I can barely hear people on the other end yet they hear me fine. I have check all volume levels on my phone. Even with the call volume all the way up and on speaker is still very hard to hear.

Oct 26, 2010The audio/music player on my HTC Hero locks up immediately when it starts. As a result I cannot preview any sounds or play any music unless I stream with pandora or something. I have installed another music player app, which is fine for music, but the default player remains the one that locks up, so if I click an audio file to preview it, that app comes up and locks. Is there a fix for this? Can I somehow set another 3rd party player as default?

Jan 23, 2013What do I have to do to get PlayerPro recognized as a music player app? When I say "listen to <artist>" using the Google voice search app, it gives me a "Complete action using" list that includes iHeartRadio, Pandora, Google Play Music, Slacker Radio, and YouTube, but no PlayerPro option. What's the trick? I'd really like to set it as the default music player.

General :: HTC 4G LTE - Changing Default Music Player Picture
Jan 11, 2013Friend has an HTC 4G LTE from Sprint running ICS. She uses the built-in android music player and wants to change the picture that is used when it plays a file that does not have any album art associated with it. It's usually like something with a colored background and a music note.
Here's the problem. She had to have the phone replaced and got a refurb. Well whoever owned the phone before somehow changed the default picture to a photo of...well...his package. Maybe not his but it's someone's junk. It makes it kind of awkward whenever an unassociated song plays and the screen shows someone. She was able to find the original picture and delete it but it still shows up so it's got to be hidden somewhere. I've looked through the file structure and can't find it.
How to change this picture back to something more PG?
General :: Visible Banding In Default Video Player Output?
Feb 28, 2013The default android video player and the other one provided by my vendor display clear banding when playing videos. The video itself is fine because when played with BSPlayer with HW experimental there is no banding visible.
The videos are played through the MediaPlayer interface of Android. I am still not sure if it is a dithering issue or a surface format issue. I tried different modifications to the player/machine without success.
1. Build.prop settings: persist.sys.use_dithering=1 (tried 2 as well) and video.accelerate.hw=1
2. Adding the dither flag with addFlags( WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DITHER )
3. Making sure the surfaces are in RGBA_8888 with setFormat of surfaces
4. Forcing dithering in View.smali of framework.jar
How I could fix this issue with the default player. Wondering if it could be related to drivers or native code.

Jan 14, 2012I have galaxy ace with cyanogen mod on it. The music player doesn't show id3 tags right. For example, i have changed "artist" tag of one of breaking benjamin's song to "Rock,Single", but the music player is still showing previous tag.
I have changed the tag to something different many times, but it still shows the first tag which is "breaking benjamin".

May 13, 2010Just got my Incredible and love it. I charged it up last night for the second time. Turned it on this morning and all looked good. Received a call this morning and I could hear the caller but they could not hear me. Several more incoming calls and the same issue. Then I made some calls...I could hear the person but they could not hear me. Finally turned phone off and back on and it is now fine. Mute was not on.....anyone know what this could be?

Jan 12, 2014I'm looking for a mp3 player for my car. I usually use my Verizon Note 2 to play my music but due to ill parents need to keep phone ready for call. So I'm looking for a mp3 player. Don't want an Ipod. Really like my Samsung media player. If I buy a used phone (possibly from ebay) can it be used as a mp3 player if I don't activate it? And what about phones that are advertised with bad ESN. Since I'm not activating it would it still be usable for a mp3 player?
I would assume it can be used as a mp3 player just not as a phone and I could never update it. Is this correct? I've always just used the phone that I have activated with Verizon so I don't know what I can and can't do with one that isn't activated.
General :: Can't Restore Galaxy Player 5 Using Odin
Aug 5, 2013I'm trying to restore my galaxy player 5 back to stock using odin because it wouldnt boot. (boot loop) after i flash i get the samsung boot but it just keeps restarting over and over. and when i try to wipe data in recovery it asks for a password and what its supposed to be. i had screen lock disabled but i might have still had a password stored.

Now when i switch my phone on it turns on and when it gets to the Samsung logo it just flashes and stays on the Samsung logo. I have tried connecting my phone to kies but i have had a problem with my phone connecting to the computer.
