View 1 RepliesI am trying to create something similar to Blackberry Messengers "PING" function. I want certain people to be able to make my phone vibrate even if I have placed the phone on silent mode. I have tried to use Setting Profiles to do this, by creating a profile (let's call it "Profile1") that turns on notification vibrations. I also created a rule that would activate Profile1 if I received a text message from someone containing the phrase "PING".
But when I test this out, the Profile1 never activates. As I've messed around with the rule, I've also tried having the rule activate based on the receipt of any text message (i.e., leaving the "*" in the contents field), and that does not work either. Any suggestions for those of you familiar with setting profiles, or if you know of another application? I have an EVO 4G.
I need in my application to make the device vibrate during the playback of a sound. I did something like this: Vibrator vibrator=(Vibrator)context.getSystemService(Context.VIBRATOR_SERVICE); ... vibrator.vibrate(mp.getDuration()); but it makes the application crash. What am I doing wrong? Does the emulator support the vibration?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my kyocera rise and everything was fine until I decided to install beats audio. My first mistake before installing the drivers was not backing up anything, yes I know that's bad. Okay so I installed the drivers with beats audio from the market then rebooted. Now I have no sound at all. No ring no music nothing. And my phone is running a lot worse now. Now come to find out apparently beats audio is not removable. The drivers can't be removed. I really need sound. Is there a way to unroot and completely factory reset the phone through factory settings?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to disable this sound? When you are focusing it, it makes the little ding! sound, even when it is in vibrate mode. I was playing around with the camera at work this morning and found this out. kinda scared me cause i thought that since i have it in vibrate mode, it shouldn't make any sounds, right?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter unlocking my phone's bootloader and flashing the kernel:
When I power off the phone, it gets into a state where I cannot control it by itself (black screen, no charging light if connected to a power source, does not react in any way to any key).
However, I am able to access it via adb over USB. Using adb, I can put it into some other state (reboot, reboot bootloader, etc) and again gain control over it (also through its own keys). When I select the "power off" function of the bootloader, it enters this state again.
I can even reboot the phone (also into recovery/bootloader/fastboot) from any state
So I can use the phone, but I can't power it on by itself, which isn't a good situation when I don't have a computer around.
device: HTC One S
ROM: CyanogenMod 10 (device is officially supported by CM10; I used the version I found in the Wiki.)
kernel: The one included in CM10 (had to be flashed manually via fastboot because of restrictions by the device; I flashed the kernel before flashing the ROM)
All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
Beats is a great brand in my opinion, and its pretty cool for them to be involved with such a great company as HTC. So how does beats work

The Remotecall app in Playstore still requires me to pick up my phone in order to actually hear something..

I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.
I downloaded the Beats Audio Installer Android application on my HTC Sensation and my Samsung Galaxy Note, but each time I run the installer I get and error message:
"Error: java.io.IOException: Error running exec(). Command: [su] Working Directory: null Environment: null
I had installed Beats Audio Installer which did improved the Quality of Sound on my Headsets and even Beats Headset were Supported...but it spoiled the sound of my phone Speaker.. that is.. Crackling and low sound on some Default Presets of MusicFX. so i had to uninstall it. after Removing Beats.. My Phone Speaker Problem got Fixed but.. MusicFX is working no longer. wen i choose sound effects in default ICS music Player. it Says "Unfortunately MusicFX stopped Working". i tried Clearing Cache and Data of Both Music player and MusicFX but nothing works. I even installed third party Equalizers but all crashes showing Same Message. I even Installed N7 Music player and when i select its Equalizer it says. "But we cannot Initialize Equalizer."
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I've been using the cm 10 and 10.1 based roms (4.1.x and 4.2.x, respectively) I've noticed the DSP Manager or Awesome beats audio effects randomly stop effecting the sound. It was noted here:
HTML Code: [URL] .....
That pausing and playing the audio player will re-enable the EQ effects. I normally use Google Music on the HTC Rezound running a variant of CM10.1 (4.2.2) but others have stated other devices and are doing this as well.
I just played with it by force closing the DSP manager process while listening to music. This did not in and of itself stop the EQ effects. Once I reopened the DSP manager app and again stop/start or pause played the effect was re enabled. Simply restarting the DSP manager app did not re enable the effect.
On my kindle fire I put cyanegeon mod on it and flashed a zip to make it think it was a Galaxy Nexus. Can I do the same with my Samsung phone, but make it think its an S3?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI find the camera sound very annoying on my phone, and even if it's on silent, it plays the camera sound. This is how to remove the camera sound.
1. Using a file explorer, I recommend es file explorer or root explorer, go to /system/media/audio/ui and there you will see 2 camera files.
2. Copy and Paste them into your sd card, then delete them from /system/media/audio/ui
3. This will keep your phone from making the camera noise.
i got the htc inspire running Absolution 3.7. is there a way to cool down the heating generated on the phone when making calls?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy SII, on O2 in the UK with their latest software release (Jelly Bean). Since the update the Jelly Bean the other month, it had been working like a dream, but starting this week, my phone seems to freeze whenever a call is recieved, or I try to dial out. The screen just goes black and the phone becomes unresponsive. Sometimes, the screen just stays black and I have to take the battery out to restart. At other times the phone will come back after between 1 and 4 minutes, after apparently rebooting itself (the Samsung welcome screen flashes up).
The phone will also now hang and fail to play media (MP3) files. Whether using the Google Player, the native Samsung app or VLC. Normally, the screen goes black for a minute or two and then the app will show the track as queued up with artwork) but it will not play and the app just freezes. Other apps, internet browsing and text messages works as usual.
I have tried removing any recently installed apps (only Dropbox was new recently) and I tried the factory reset. The problems persist after both.

Is there a way to mute all notifications (preferably set them on vibrate) and still have the phone ring when someone calls. I found many apps that do that for certain contacts, but is there a way to do this for ALL calls?
