Currently when i plug in a usb otg cable the phone screen goes blank and no buttons work, its only after you plug in the charger cable the phone comes back on again. I would like to know if i can get usb otg to work on this model or if there is an app to enable usb otg?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Moto Droid since just after the release and since rooting and ROMing in January, I'm really becoming more obsessed. Cyanogen has had a huge affect (for the better!) on my Android experience. Just curious what phone you guys think has the biggest developer community. (I'm obviously going with DROID ). I'd love to also hear the opinions of those with multiple Android phone experiences.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRight now, I am running 2.05.00.06.11 baseband radio with SkyRaider 2.5.2 HTC Sense. I am looking to use the unRevoked forever to allow my phone to have S-OFF and permit me to update the baseband radio to 2.15.00.07.28. My question is, should I happen to need to take my phone in for repair, will it be tough to go back to factory?As some of you may know, the good folks that designed unRevoked now have an S-ON tool that will allow you to turn S-ON. I know that I could do that, put my original setup back one (2.1update1) and remove root. But what about that radio baseband?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI see on the Android SDK pages, it mentions some screen resolutions to expect on Android platforms:
Small screen
QVGA (240x320), 2.6"-3.0" diagonal
Normal screen
WQVGA (240x400), 3.2"-3.5" diagonal
FWQVGA (240x432), 3.5"-3.8" diagonal
HVGA (320x480), 3.0"-3.5" diagonal
WVGA (480x800), 3.3"-4.0" diagonal
FWVGA (480x854), 3.5"-4.0" diagonal
Large screen
WVGA (480x800), 4.8"-5.5" diagonal
FWVGA (480x854), 5.0"-5.8" diagonal
Obviously, testing an app you want to sell on all these resolutions is going to be a pain. Is there any data on what percent of android phones being used use the above resolutions? My hope is that there's only really 3 or so popular resolutions...
I know that a microSD card is included, but does the phone also support SDHC?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs we know, bluetooth-related APIs was not included until version 2.0. And the current condition is Droid is the only 2.0-supported choice. I've known there are many kinds of unofficial 2.0 build, but are they stable enought to program? Does anybody has the experiences of programming bluetooth on a non-Droid handset? What is it, and what is the version of your OS? Did you hear of whether G1/magic/hero/tattoo is going to support eclair officially or not?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been searching about the floating point support on G1 phone (aka the HTC Dream phone) for a few hours.
So far, my conclusion is that the ARM-based Qualcomm MSM7201 CPU does not have VFP (floating point coprocessor) and therefore floating point calculations have to be done via software-float.
This is quite disappointing as I am interested in developing applications with heavy math.
However, I also notice that the Qualcomm CPU has QDSP4000™ and QDSP5000™ high-performance digital signal processors (DSP), according to http://www.qctconnect.com/products/msm_7201.html
Therefore, here is my question: would it be possible to leverage the DSP modules in the MSM7201 CPU to do the floating point math?
Also, I would like to develop the heavy-math modules in C/C++ and call it via JNI, and so I just want to double-check whether this is a feasible approach.
i have to call customer support yet again, to get my fiance's droid replaced. Last time I called, the phone was not rooted. This time its running chevy'S ROM and kernel. Either way stock or modded this phone is just buggy.and there is something, wrong with the microphone. Can they tell ota that the phone is rooted? I'm going to return it to stock before I send it back to them, but don't want to do it till I know they are going to replace it.Last time they checked to see when the last tower update was, but I don't know if they were checking their info or my phone info.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the OTA update and have had several issues that through this forum I've tried to correct but it just keeps getting more frustrating every day. I was on vacation and was using it as an alarm only to find that if you don't turn off and on the alarm every day, it won't work (and I had it set to S-S). I miss calls all the time, all over town, going straight to voice mail. The dialer lags all the time (except when I accidentally hit the wrong number, then it works like a champ ). My voice mail programed pin hesitates every time, not like the lighting speed it used to run on 1.5; so much so I'm not sure it will go through sometimes. My email notifications stutter or doubles for the same email. The phone gets very warm when I haven't used it for several hours and within a good cell signal area so I know it shouldn't be working to get a signal.
With all that said, I really liked the phone on 1.5 and would kill to get it back to that but I don't see that as a viable solution.I stopped into one of the local stores and told the guy I wanted my phone to work like it used to.He said I needed to take it to one of the tech support shops and be prepared to leave it for several hours for it to be checked.So here is my question (finally).I want to take it to the shop in case it is a bad handset but I need to clear the phone of sensitive information first.I get all my work emails on my phone, many of them sensitive information, along with web site access to my company's internal system. I need to make sure that all that information is cleared from the phone before I take it in.
That Samsung will actually support the Captivate because it is part of the Galaxy S family? It seems to me that this phone will not sell well on ATT, especially now that I've seen so many price drops, but because of the 5 different Galaxy S phones I imagine as a whole these phones will sell and that means good support.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy does this phone say it can support WMA/WMV when it does not.I see it posted as the phones specs on all websites that gives the specs for this phone. Does this have to do the fact that the crappy 1.5 OS doesnt support it? Will 2.1 support those files? It also says mp4, but I tried that and it also doesnt work??? Has anybody else have any luck with these file formats? I remember my G1 could play these so why the flip can't a newer android phone?????

Some of my application's users are on android 1.5, some on 1.6, and some 2.0. So how do I release my app for all customers? If I release a 1.5 version, then the 1.5 phone can use it - but not the newer phones with smaller screens (aka Tatoo), they require 1.6 or higher? correct?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a weather image I would like to use as an overlay in the google maps android api. I would like to achieve the same result that I get from using GroundOverlay in KML files, such as
<GroundOverlay>
<name>myimage</name>
<Icon>
<href>myimage.png</href>
<viewBoundScale>0.75</viewBoundScale>
</Icon>
<LatLonBox>
<north>75.6088</north>
<south>5.0121</south>
<east>182.2805</east>
<west>120.6795</west>
</LatLonBox>
/GroundOverlay>
The above will ensure that the 4 corners of my image stay anchored to the 4 lat/long points listed, regardless of scrolling, zooming etc. Is there a way to accomplish this using the google api / maps provided for android?
