i know some new sites have email alerts. does AC offer any type of alert system? so id get all new headlines in email or text ect? if not maybe some1 knows of an app that can handle this?

Are there any good apps out there for Customized SMS/Email alerts? I am coming from BB Storm 2 where i could have every email, sms, mms, whatever from any contact display a different LED light/pattern and make a different noise depending on who it is coming from. Here on my Droid X i have one alert noise, for EVERYTHING. And no LED tweaking.
I DL'd Blink...which was useless, didn't display 3/4 of the colors it was supposed to do. Uninstalled. I had heard HandcentSMS lets you customize stuff...kinda. I could finally make my SMS make a differnt noise then any other alert. But still can't customize it per person/sender. I could tweak the LED thankfully. But this only affects SMS. Not email. And it too didn't display all the colors it had listed
Ringdroid lets me make every caller have a differnt ringtone (cool), and i can save alerts, but not custom per person. Are there any apps out there that let me customize alerts for email/mms/sms and so forth. So i can have it blink the LED a differnt color from certain people and make a noise when said email, mms, sms is from certain people? Or am i just SOL and need to deal with the fact that i can't do that on a Droid?
In so many ways this phone is lightyears ahead of my Storm 2...but in so many other ways it is far more basic and simplistic in many things and doesn't allow the customization.
I have stopped receiving email and message alerts. No sound, no vibrate, no icon on the status bar at the top of the phone, no blinking green light when the screen is off. It is as if the phone does not know I have email or messages.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the Advanced Task Killer because there wasn't a logout function for the Yahoo Mail App and the alerts were going like crazy; however, I needed the alerts for my work email due to oncall. However, now I'm not getting any sound alerts or vibrate, etc for my new email messages and this is very important.
Does anyone know how I can enable the alerts and get them working again. I have uninstalled the Advanced Task Killer and powered off the phone, but the email alert notifications unfortunately are still not working.

Also, is there a spell check on this thing? I saw a setting under 'qwerty' but it requires predictive text to be on, which is a no go for me.

It seems to work fine out and about near home in South West London, but whilst at work in Central London, I just can't seem to get any access to 3G. Anyone have any ideas? It's only been this bad for the last few weeks. I've invested in the pebble, so will be less likely to switch off my Desire, and therefore it shouldn't have a problem finding the network, but once my pebble arrives I will update again, but just wondered if anyone else has this problem with Orange 3G??

The last couple times we had tornado warnings my phone did the NOAA weather alert noise. I really like that, since it gives us a heads up about the weather.
But I got one this morning (flash floods until 1pm) and I noticed that my tablet did not go off. After doing some digging I found out that the alerts only go to cell connected devices. Since my Nexus 7 is only wifi I was wondering if you all had any apps that could alert us on my tablet. The things I'm looking for in such an app is that it emits the extreme weather noise when the alert goes out (a red icon in the status bar), and the ability to tell the app to not alert me for things like high winds.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I am using the native email application with an Exchange account. I do not like the email counter telling me how many unread messages I have. I have notifications turned off so I do not have anything showing up in my notification bar. Is there a way to disable to email counter?

I have no trouble revieving email through the email setup not Gmail but there is no provision for an address book or contacts list for sending emails. I Googled around and found K-9 Email and went to Google Apps to download it and upon tapping the download button a message came up stating "no devices found". The Nexus7 is running Jellybeen 4.2.1.
