Oct 30, 2012Some background info: I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, so no SD-Card. Rooted, running Paranormal Android.
So what started bugging me lately is the fact that android just places folders created by apps in my main storage, which ironically is called /sdcard/.
Is there a way to create a folder, for instance: ProgramFiles, and make android place all folders made by apps in that folder? That way only my Music, Movies folder etc would stay in the main storage.

May 10, 2010I really like installing apps, testing them, and removing them. Does installing apps and then uninstalling them end up making your phone slower? I don't have my Incredible yet but I don't want to install all these apps to just test if it will end up slowing my phone down when I remove them! I know Windows does get slower by installing and uninstalling apps, OS X not so much. How does Android fare?

However, the bitmap is always null. I am able to create a bitmap successfully if I have the file as a resource.

My app creates a temp file with a simple call to:
FileOutputStream fos = openFileOutput("MY_TEMP.TXT",Mode);
It works fine because I can write to it and read it normally.
The problem is that when I exit from the app I want to delete this file. I used:
File f = new File(System.getProperty("user.dir"),"MY_TEMP.TXT");
f.delete()
But it always returns false and the file is not deleted.
I have tried
File f = new File("MY_TEMP.TXT");
f.delete();
And it does not work either.

I have a Droid X2. I downloaded Google Calendar Sync to my computer which synced my Outlook with my Gmail calendar, and that displayed on my phone, but events created on the phone do not display in the Google calendar or Outlook.
I have gone to phone Settings > Accounts > checked Gmail to sync calendar. Google Calendar Sync on my computer is set for 2-way syncing and to do so every 15 minutes. The phone is rooted.

Sep 10, 2010I recently bought the Samsung Vibrant phone. I am a little intimidated by it but trying to learn things, but have two questions I need to find answers for quickly - for business reasons.
I found out how to put a file on my computer, but not how to name it...i.e. clients...that type of thing....
AND the guy that talked me into this said that I would be able to access my home computer with this phone so if I needed to send a file while away from the house, I could do that. BUT I cant seem to find that.
AND LASTLY...there seem to be a lot of aps on the phone already that I done want or wont use, but the TMobile guy (who uses a blackberry) could not seem to figure out how to get rid of them.
ALSO...for anyone looking for some cool covers for the phone...decalgirl.com has some great skins for the phone AND the Realook screne protector is wonderful...changes nothing and cant tell it is there, but do follow the directions as to the water to take all dust out of the air.
