Samsung I7500 : Mp3 Music Player Files Make Phone Slow

Mar 30, 2010

Other threads say that adding mp3 files to the phone shouldn't slow it down. I have only 1gb of songs on the int memory - and the music player seems to take a good 20-30 seconds to read & list what's there every time I start it. is this normal?

Samsung I7500 :: Language Support In Music Player

Sep 12, 2009

I have a few Greek songs that I would like to play on the Galaxy, but it really annoys me that the Greek song names don't show properly. Instead I get a bunch of question marks. The strange thing is that it reads one of the tags, but none of the rest.

Samsung I7500 :: Erratic Album Art In Music Player

Nov 30, 2009

so i added album art to most of the mp3s i've got on my galaxy and started the music player had to wait a while for the player to index all the files and i had to start playing a track from each of the albums for the cover art to update i later added a couple more albums to the phone (via usb) and the player had to index everything all over again, only this time it doesn't recognize a lot of the album art it did previously? what's up with that? i'm still on ig9; does it work better on newer firmware? (any word on when a new one is released? i5 is still the newest, right?)

Right in the middle of my movie Anyone else seen this problem ? If my headphones are inserted, a small twist at the jack, and regardless of what I'm doing (browser, home screen ...etc) the music player starts up.

I have about 300 songs on my device and I haven't even heard half of them. Is anyone having the same problem? How are people working around this?

Samsung I7500 :: Music Problem With Downloaded Files

Nov 18, 2009

When I try to play mp3 files that I have downladed directly to my phone the default music player cannot seem to play them when other applications (like Browser) are running. Music simply quits when I switch to another open application. I do not have this problem with music I have manually transferred to the phone, and the only difference that I can identify between them is the location of the files: downloads on the internal sd and others on the external. Is there any reason why the file location should be an issue?

Samsung I7500 :: Music Player Sensitive To Headphone Jack Motion / Disable Those Events?

Oct 9, 2009

I've experienced the following annoying issue while using my Galaxy as a music player:

Motion of the headphone jack (e.g. while walking with phone in pocket) can be sufficient to trigger events that shut down music player or cause it to skip tracks. This is a major usability issue.

I'd like to disable those events or somehow configure the music player to be insensitive to them.

Samsung Fascinate :: Music Player Is Not Reading Song Tag Info Of AAC Files Properly

Oct 20, 2010

My music has ID3 version 2.3 tags (most common). About 10% (2,500) of my music is AAC (.m4a) format which is MP4 tagged. All my songs are very organized into 11 different genres. Everything has a title, artist, and album assigned to it and looks great in my iPhone, iTunes, MediaMonkey, and Mp3tag program. When I add my music to my Samsung Fascinate, it reads the tags of my .m4a music but when I go to genre, things are messy. It appears to be putting albums in the genre section (only with .m4a files). Example: Lets say I have an .m4a of Garth Brooks, Thunder Rolls, No Fences (album), Country (genre)In my Samsung Fascinate player, it will be found in the genre section under "No Fences". If I click "Country" genre where it should be, the song will not be listed there. It seems to be reading .m4a Album tags as genre and not reading the appropriate tag "Country".I hope someone can help straighten this out without having either manually edit each song tag OR convert all of them to .mp3 and deplete the song quality.

Aacfileparser.cpp (externalopencorefileformats

This looks like not integrated with Android framework layer through JNI. So music app does not have any knowledge of this file type ..

HTC Wildfire :: Slow Default Music Player

Oct 24, 2010

Is it just me or the default music player is VERY SLOW to react. I mean, the phone isn't slow in any other respect, not even browsing the web. But the music player is very slow to react relatively. I have a 8GB SD card almost full of mp3 files but I don't think the mp3 player should feel sluggish after it had indexed all the tracks. Has anyone else noticed this? So far the mp3 player has been my only disappointment (not just because of this) with the Wildfire and I've been using it a couple of weeks.

HTC Incredible :: Music Player Slow When You Have A Ton Of Songs?

May 14, 2010

I hope this hasn't been answered anywhere else (I did search! I promise). Is anyone experiencing very slow load times when clicking to show Artists or Songs in the default music player? I have about 1800 songs, and when I click on either Artist, Album, or Song, it takes like 10 seconds to think about it and then finally pulls them up. They are stored on my 16GB SDHC card (Class 4). Any ideas or is it something I'll have to live with?

Media :: Music Player Can't Find All Files / Need Doesn't Use Native Index Of Files?

Apr 4, 2010

I have a Samsung Galaxy I7500 using android 1.5. I extended my phone with a 16GB microSD. I copied a big music collection (around 800 files) into a folder on this SD. Now the problem is that the music player can't find all the files.

I know that there are several threads about android not finding music. The answers are usually that the library hasn't yet been updated or that the ID3 tags are not correct.
I have checked both.

Btw. I can play the files using ASTRO.

In my opinion it seems as if android can't build up a library with too many entries. If I rename the files or put them into different folders, songs disappear and reappear quite randomly.

Do you have any solutions? Is there a music player which doesn't use the native music players index of files?

HTC EVO 4G :: Get Rid Of Files - Don't Want Showing Up In Stock Music Player?

Jul 20, 2010

I installed a game from gameloft (Let's golf, great graphics btw)

Anyway I notice a bunch of sounds files were showing up in my music player I didn't want. Very annoying. I searched around here and didn't really find that much help. After some further searching around the net the easiest way I could find was as follows:

1. Open up notepad, don't type anything just go to file, save as. Change the drop down box for Save as type: select all files. Under file name simply type ".nomedia" without quotes.

2. Connect your phone to your computer, locate where the sound files you don't want are. In the same folder as where all the files are, drag the .nomedia file you made to that folder. Disconnect the phone

3. Reboot your phone, once booted open up the music player (you might still see the files there since it's cached) Go to the all songs tab, select a song. This will refresh the cache and you should no longer see any annoying files in your widget or playlist.

Before this I had to make a custom playlist and select that but everytime I rebooted I would have to select the playlist again plus if you add new songs you would have to go into the playlist.

Also if you don't know where the annoying files are, you should be able to hold down on it in the music application and go to details. This will show u where the files are located.

General :: Hide MP3 Files From Music Player?

I've dumped my thumb drive and now use my smartphone (HTC V One) for the same purpose. One side effect is I now have a couple directories full of mp3 files that I'd like to hide from the music player (no, they aren't those kinds of files. They're work related, not music).

Is it possible to hide directories from the music player? Even better, can I tell the music player to only look under 'My Music' on the SD card?

My captivate external speaker plays music while I'm listening to the headphones, am I missing a setting to turn this off? Shouldn't the phone's external speaker not be playing music while I'm using my headphones? Sometimes the external speaker will remain silent while my headphones are working (as I would imagine should be the case) until I receive a text message, and then the external speaker will play music along with the headphones. Anyone think this could be a problem with my device? My 30 day period expires on Sept.5 so I am wondering if I should return it for an exchange?

Android :: Hiding Media Files From Music Player

Apr 27, 2009

I'm torn between which group to post this too, but since it is for an application I am working on, I guess I'll stick it here. So here we go. I have an application which downloads data onto the sdcard to be used by the application. Some of these files are sound or music files and the music player in android seems to parse these directories and add these files to the list. I'd like to somehow block or hide these files from the music player. Is there is a way to do this? I was thinking it may be possible to name my folder with a period at the beginning, since linux hides such files. I'm just not sure if that is going to hide it from the music player or if there is another way to handle this.

Android :: How To Make Music Player Recognize AAC File In Cupcake?

Mar 24, 2009

From the opencore, we can see the aac file is supported to be played back. But the aac file can not be recognized in the music player.
From "http://groups.google.com/group/android-
framework/browse_thread/thread/ed9f788504c3d35a/42d9c78a38235a19? #42d9c78a38235a19 "
And after I reading the mediascanner sourcecode I think if I want to make the AAC file can be recognized in the music player I should to add following code to mediafile.java:

public static final int FILE_TYPE_AAC = 8;
private static final int FIRST_AUDIO_FILE_TYPE = FILE_TYPE_MP3;
private static final int LAST_AUDIO_FILE_TYPE = FILE_TYPE_AAC;
addFileType("AAC", FILE_TYPE_AAC, "audio/aac");
Because the AMR file is also be handled in this way. And form
mediascanner.jave sourcecode, we can see if the aac file is only be regarded as a only aac file not the mp4 single audio. I think the mediascanner.jave should not be modified. But after I modified the mediaFile.java , then I opened the music player the aac file also cannot be seen.

HTC Hero :: Music Player Skippy / Laggy - Make It Smooth?

Apr 5, 2010

Not sure if anybody has this issue. I have a telus HTC hero and when I am in the music player, whether it be the stock player or not, if I let music play in the background, then lock/unlock the phone or if it sits with the screen on and then locks by itself, the music will skip or "cut out" for a half second and then continue. I don't remember youtube reviews of the phone music player showing this happening. Anybody else have this issue or does your music play smoothly regardless of locking/unlocking?
