View 1 RepliesI had a Galaxy Ace S5830 phone and now I've changed my phone. It had one app that I could protect any of my gallery photos with a password. I don't know if it was a pre-installed app by Samsung or I had installed it manually and I can't remember the name of that. I need it for my new Galaxy Note... Remember I just want special photos in my gallery to be password protected. I DON'T mean an "App Locker Program, such AppLocker Pro app or similar to it".

There's an option in the play store to require a pin code but that's only for app purchases, I need to also prevent the installation of free apps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android. I recently was an iPhone fan but thought that Android was a better alternative to iPhone. So anyway, I have a few questions about the Captivate. Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. Anyways, I look forward to Android and the Captivate.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way or an app that will let me lock certain parts of Settings? Like if I want to allow our users to change Sound, Display, etc, but lock them out of Applications and Accounts&Sync?
I have found a few apps that will let us password protect things on the phone, but with them if I choose Settings, then they can't change anything and I want them to have a bit of flexibility, but I have to keep them out of Applications because then they could just kill the password app that locks them out of certain apps.
I'm looking for a way to lock or password protect the wallpaper settings. There are apps out there that lock apps, and lock the "settings" app, but long pressing the homescreen allows you to alter wallpapers directly and circumvents any such protection.
I know you can password protect the whole phone, but that's besides the point. I'm looking for a way to protect wallpaper settings specifically.
I'm on a family plan with my wife and 13yr old son. We purchased a Galaxy S4 for our son as a Birthday present in October. However, as of recent his grades have taken a dive. We notice he eats, sleeps and breathes on the phone. He primarily uses it for surfing the net, instagram or youtube. We were thinking of grounding him and removing his phone but we need him to have his phone as a point of contact. However, is there anyway to stop his data usage. I realize there is a setting on the phone to disable data usage but it is fairly easy to re-enable it.
Is there anyway to lock or password protect the phones settings or data usage?
I tried googling but the results kept yielding information relative to the "lock screen" which isnt what im looking for.
How do I protect an app with a PIN / Password like mint.com does? This would need something like a session variable that resets when the user navigates away from app by pressing HOME or BACK. How do we accomplish this?
Is there anything out there that can prevent an app from being launched without a password? Primarily I want to prevent gmail, google voice, and messaging from being launched without a password.

I want to set a password on my phone to protect the gps so you have to enter a password to either turn the gps on or off.
Sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and came up empty.Am I missing something or is there no way to password protect the lock screen with Android (without some app)?I can live without it, but considering how much personal info we store on our phones these days, I'd at least like to know if I have the option.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI love being able to check e-mails from different accounts on my phone (never had one that did that before!) but, one of them is a work account that I would really like to protect. Is there a way I can force the phone to ask for my account password every time I access this particular account - or is there something I can set internally on the phone to protect the e-mail app?

View 4 Replies View RelatedLet's say you have some media on your device that you don't want prying eyes to stumble across in your Gallery. As it is right now Android does a stellar job finding your media and adding it to your gallery. I found this video showing how to hide a folder by renaming the folder using Astro and adding a "." to the beginning of the folder name.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Gallery app that comes with my S III shows all sorts of "junk" folders that are created by apps (e.g. Re-Volt creates a "LOADING" folder with images, another app has created a "cache" folder etc.).
Is there a Gallery replacement that allows you to hide certain folders?
I think QuickPic allows this. Any more?
Is there an app that lets me passwordl protect certain apps and that also has a widget for easily turning it on or off. I have looked at some but I am not sure if they have a widget. I tried applock but it doesn't. Do you guys know of any app like this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to password protect the recovery image; where we flash our roms ect...?
I have password protected the device to stop the phone being used while it is on, but it's really pointless when someone can turn the phone off and just reflash the device.
Granted, they could do that anyway even if i had an offical rom without the recovery image, but it would still be a nice feature if it's possible.
Suppose that into images folder I have several subfolders, say 25. I would like a way to display in Gallery say 2 folders, with the pictures that I desire into each one, without having to physically moving the pictures (because for example each subfolder corresponds to a month, like nokia does: 201201, 201202, etc.)

1.Apps to prevent theft - apps that make a sound when moved like 'Antitheft Alarm','Alarm Antitheft Alarm Screen Lock'.etc

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Galaxy S4. I can't edit my photos using the built-in editing feature in the gallery (drawing lines and all). Once I'm done drawing, I'll save the photo and it'll be the same as the original one, without any changes. I also can't use some apps like Snoopify or Catwang.
