General :: Can't Turn Off SMS Notification Popup

This problem only began after the android update last week.
I use go sms and successfully turned off its popup notification.
I have notification unchecked in the native message app on my skyrocket galaxy II. I noticed it says "display message notifications in status bar" It say nothing about popups...but I have it off anyway.
I use the iphone notifications app (mimics iphone banners). It works fine but I also get the popup with the android man... and I can't shut it off.
If I go into go sms and check the suppress other notifications... it works... so there is a process out there to suppress......
I just can't find the place that is generating the notifications....

I noticed my uncle had an iphone 4, and we started talking about our phones (mostly me bragging that android was the bomb), one thing lead to another and we were exchanging pics, when i asked him if he just got a photo i sent, he showed me his phone with a popup showing the pic i sent up in a popup.i currently use handcent sms but when i get a pic from someone all it says is "view mms", is there any app that does that?

I need pop-up notifications of missed voice calls and SMS text messages. The pop-up should remain on the screen until dismissed/acknowledged. If the screen times out, I would like the message to reappear after I log in to the phone. Generally I can't get my phone out quickly enough to see the original message. I can't tell whether I've missed a call or a text message, so I have to check both. I find the missed call format especially unfriendly. I'm using Calendar Event Reminder and loving it. It would be great to find soemthing that works similarly for calls and text messages.
I must have installed some app or selected some option. About 5 minutes after missing a text message the phone produces an very annoying sound. I hope that when I install a new notification app or setting that this annoyance will go away.

So i have my app running in fullscreen however i want to add a button that when pressed basically makes the notificationbar pop back up and imedeatly drop down so all notifications are visible, however i also want it to redisappear when its slide back up, is this possible?

How to disable the automatic 2.1 popup that is constantly displayed every time I unlock my phone? I imagine it would be something like renaming a certain file, but I guess I'd have to know the name of the correct file first.

I'm running Android 4.1.2 on my Pantech Discover phone. how I can turn off notification sounds for text messages and email. The way the phone's working right now, I receive a sound notification of new text messages even when the phone is in Silent mode or Vibrate mode.

How to turn off individual apps from vibration during a notification? I get a vibration when gps kicks on and playstore downloads an app.
I am running the latest nightly of PAC-MAN rom. I tried downloading permission manager, but I keep getting an error "blame tyler" when trying to run that program.

is there any way i can turn off or disable the update notification on my wt19i ?
i updated it to .62 only to find it couldn't be rooted, so i downgraded to .58 using the wotan server and re-rooted and all is well but the stupid update prompt is always there.

I tried the apps "Handcent" and "Sms Popup" and set them to automatically display a popup on the lock screen when there is a new sms (similiar to the iPhone).Both apps, however, only display the popup after the lock screen.I guess this has something to do with this "great" touchwiz overlay Samsung is using. Any way to fix this?

So I upgraded to the nexus 5 and sold my phone to a friend yesterday. He claims that he has not deleted anything and that is froze and just stopped working.
I have the phone connected to my computer where the phones LED notification light is red but will not turn on or even boot into recovery. My computer isn't recognizing it as a device either.

recovery is CWM
What may have caused this. and if its bricked how to unbrick it if possible?

I searched the market and the forum but found nothing like this.I think SMS popup is a great app and would love something similar for email that would pop up a box telling me I got an email, who it was from and the subject line with an option to open or ignore.I plan to email the SMS popup developer but I was wondering if anyone else had come across something like this or if anyone else would be interested?I'm going to link the dev to this thread, so if its something you'd like chime in here so he knows there is interest.

In several of the battery tips/tricks to help batter life, they recommend to turn off the LED notifications for sms mms email etc. Well, it seems that even when all mine are un-checked the LED light still flashes green when I get a text/email etc. I'm refereing to the LED light that comes on when you charge the phone.

I noticed when I get a message, the notification light will only last a little while before it stops blinking. Is there a setting to keep the notification light going until the notification has been checked?I don't like having to power it up to know if I have a message, email, or missed call. I just like glancing at it to see if the light is blinking.

So I have the Froyo Leak (ROM, no radio) based off of the official 2.2 (I have the 2.05 radio). This is the ROM: [ROM] 8/26 Leak Lite w/ Sense - xda-developers.Is it okay for me to install the system update that Verizon keeps trying to push to my phone? i love this new HTC Desire phone, but only thing i dont like about it, is the text messages appear on the bottom of the home screen. i dont want a preview of the messages i receive by text before i unlock the phone. how do i turn this off?

is there a way to turn off all of the notification sounds for email, calendar, and texts? There does not seem to be a global setting for things, and there's not individual settings for this, for example, with the calender, you can't turn off the sounds without turning off the on-screen pop-up reminder. Any apps for this I wonder.

I have an LG Ally, and downloaded Handcent SMS, which I love since I can customize my texting notification to longer vibrations. Now though I receive 2 notifications for each text.I can't figure out how to turn off the texting notification that comes with the phone.

I like LBE Privacy Guard, especially for its on-demand permission requests when an app asks to access my SMS Inbox or whatnot; I like that I can ensure that it never accesses it, always does without asking, or continues to ask each time.
I'm also using the firewall with mixed results; I don't like having to choose each app and whether it's allowed to access the internet via 3g/wifi ahead of time. I'd like a popup request with similar options (though I guess it would be more like a timeout rather than per-session, e.g. "yes it can access the internet over my 3g connection but only for the next 10 minutes."
Is there already an app that does this? I've checked a few firewall apps like Droid Wall (and a few similar apps) and they don't offer this on-demand (or on-app-accessing-internet, I suppose!)

At what seem like random times a pop up message "Looks like you forgot to declare the Millennial Media MMAdViewOverlayActivity in your manifest file" comes on my screen.
I have googled the error and it seems to be attributed to either Angry Birds, Barnes and Noble or ubersoft.
I dont have any such software on my phone....... In fact I dont have that much software at all on my phone.

This is really minor, but it's annoying to me to have an icon in my notification bar up top that USB debugging is connected. I realize I have to have the USB debugging option checked in settings, but it's annoying that this notification icon appears whenever I plug the phone into the computer.How do I disable this icon?

I know I am going to be embarrassed by this, but how do I just turn it off.I downloaded a ringtone from Mabilo sounds it was fee, but now I cant figure out how to turn it off.When I go into settings and notification ringtones, its not there.Even if it were and I could uncheck it, there is no option for no notification at all.
