Motorola Droid :: Battery Drained All Way Until 'red' And A Popup Came Up
Feb 3, 2010My battery drained all the way until the "red" and a popup came up that said "Battery is less than 5 percent. Connect to charger" So I connect to charger. An hour or so later, the battery icon is "full" and green, I disconnect my charger and it immediately shoots down to red with the popup appearing again. I have tried charging it on numerous Motorola chargers, even overnight and it still happens? Anyone have this issue?

Jul 18, 2010I tried the apps "Handcent" and "Sms Popup" and set them to automatically display a popup on the lock screen when there is a new sms (similiar to the iPhone).Both apps, however, only display the popup after the lock screen.I guess this has something to do with this "great" touchwiz overlay Samsung is using. Any way to fix this?

Nov 26, 2010I noticed my uncle had an iphone 4, and we started talking about our phones (mostly me bragging that android was the bomb), one thing lead to another and we were exchanging pics, when i asked him if he just got a photo i sent, he showed me his phone with a popup showing the pic i sent up in a popup.i currently use handcent sms but when i get a pic from someone all it says is "view mms", is there any app that does that?

I use go sms and successfully turned off its popup notification.
I have notification unchecked in the native message app on my skyrocket galaxy II. I noticed it says "display message notifications in status bar" It say nothing about popups...but I have it off anyway.
I use the iphone notifications app (mimics iphone banners). It works fine but I also get the popup with the android man... and I can't shut it off.
If I go into go sms and check the suppress other notifications... it works... so there is a process out there to suppress......
I just can't find the place that is generating the notifications....
General :: Popup Asking For Internet Access?
Feb 19, 2013I like LBE Privacy Guard, especially for its on-demand permission requests when an app asks to access my SMS Inbox or whatnot; I like that I can ensure that it never accesses it, always does without asking, or continues to ask each time.
I'm also using the firewall with mixed results; I don't like having to choose each app and whether it's allowed to access the internet via 3g/wifi ahead of time. I'd like a popup request with similar options (though I guess it would be more like a timeout rather than per-session, e.g. "yes it can access the internet over my 3g connection but only for the next 10 minutes."
Is there already an app that does this? I've checked a few firewall apps like Droid Wall (and a few similar apps) and they don't offer this on-demand (or on-app-accessing-internet, I suppose!)
General :: HTC Android Spam Popup
May 25, 2012At what seem like random times a pop up message "Looks like you forgot to declare the Millennial Media MMAdViewOverlayActivity in your manifest file" comes on my screen.
I have googled the error and it seems to be attributed to either Angry Birds, Barnes and Noble or ubersoft.
I dont have any such software on my phone....... In fact I dont have that much software at all on my phone.

My browser, no matter which one, as Ive tried fixing this already, continues to open by itself every couple of minutes going to [url]..... I've tried new host files and different ad blocking apps, Even froze google chrome using titanium backup and installed fire fox but it continues to happen.

Jun 12, 2012I've recently been experiencing a series of pop-ups in an Android dialogue box occasionally when I click links that I know are clean.A lot of them are dialogue boxes that say "Congratulations, your US number has been chosen for a gift - press the OK button to continue"
and the only way out is to either press the Okay button or force stop the browser.The browser it most recently happened with has been with Dolphin Mini browser - can't remember if it occurred through my Android's native Internet browser or not, either way it takes me to a site called Mobgifts(dot)org
I did some research and some said it was a virus, but I have Lookout installed on my device and scan it weekly and just did a scan yesterday - all was clean..
TL;DR: Internet links in browser lately have been unescapable diallogue boxes that say "Congrats you won this" and you have no other options than to either force quit or press Okay then exit.
General :: How To Get Popup Notification Of Missed Call And Text
Jan 12, 2014I need pop-up notifications of missed voice calls and SMS text messages. The pop-up should remain on the screen until dismissed/acknowledged. If the screen times out, I would like the message to reappear after I log in to the phone. Generally I can't get my phone out quickly enough to see the original message. I can't tell whether I've missed a call or a text message, so I have to check both. I find the missed call format especially unfriendly. I'm using Calendar Event Reminder and loving it. It would be great to find soemthing that works similarly for calls and text messages.
I must have installed some app or selected some option. About 5 minutes after missing a text message the phone produces an very annoying sound. I hope that when I install a new notification app or setting that this annoyance will go away.
General :: Popup Applications Not Working - New Samsung Galaxy S3
May 2, 2013I just got a "new" samsung galaxy s3 a few days ago and the only problem I've come across so far is that none of the sms pop up apps I download work. I've used SMS Popup on my previous phones in conjunction with Handcent SMS with no problem. I'm frustrated because I can't figure out why NONE of the apps, SMS 7, Popup Notifier, or SMS Popup, will work. And when I say doesn't work I mean I can open the app and change the settings, but nothing ever happens when I get a text - no popup, no notification, no sound, no LED light. But I've tried the Handcent pop up and it works just fine?

General :: Connect To Nexus 10 Using ADB - No Security Popup / Device Unauthorized
May 23, 2014I have a brand new windows 7 computer, I have installed the latest android SDK, I want to connect to my Nexus 10 using adb.
(device has windows drivers from SDK; "Android Composite ADB Interface". adb version 1.0.31)
when I do adb devices, it does see my device but it says my device is unauthorised.
It has never displayed the security popup.
I am convinced that the security pop up would make this work, but i cannot get it to show, so that it does whatever magic it does.
I have tried plugging and unplugging the usb cable,
I have tried turning USB debugging on and off.
I have changed the USB connection from Camera, to Media, back to Camera.
I can see the adbkey file under $HOME/.android in windows
The android directory /data/misc/adb/ is empty
I have root.
How can I force the security popup to display? Or how can I frig this so I can get it working?
What does the secuirty popup do anyway? probably just copy the adbkey file from windows into the android /misc/adb/ directory right? Can I do it by hand?
Slightly unrelated question, is it true that everything works first time, everytime on IOS?

General :: Battery Meter Bug During Charge Makes Phone Think Battery Is Dead
Nov 9, 2013I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

Jul 3, 2013I've had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years, and as phones usually do, the battery life became pretty bad. It would get to 5% and then quickly die halfway through the day.
I purchased a new battery, and found it to be just as bad (supposedly). It would be down to 5% by noon without much usage, so I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and not an old battery. I'd just turn it off or try to find a charger...
It took me a few days to realize that it lasts hours past when it gets to 5%. HOURS. It reached 5% at about 1pm EST today, I used it my whole commute home on the train, made a two 5-10 minute phone calls this evening, and now past 9pm it still hasn't died.
So, it's not the battery. It's not the worst problem to have... but it would be really nice to know how much battery I have left.
Note: I rooted my phone about 1 week before I got the new battery.

Jun 16, 2010Up until yesterday, the pop up screen would always come on, whether the phone was locked or not; it's how I had to do in the settings. Now, all of a sudden, if the phone is locked, the pop-up screen no longer comes on. The screen turns on, i see the notification in the status bar, but the pop-up screen no longer shows until i unlock and use the pattern to unlock. I changed nothing at all and the settings are as they were.

Sep 16, 2010I just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!
