HTC Incredible :: Way To Turn The Notification Off?

So I have the Froyo Leak (ROM, no radio) based off of the official 2.2 (I have the 2.05 radio). This is the ROM: [ROM] 8/26 Leak Lite w/ Sense - xda-developers.Is it okay for me to install the system update that Verizon keeps trying to push to my phone? If not, is there a way that I can turn the notification off?I ask because I've been told that this ROM is based off of the actual 2.2, so that's why I was wondering if it would be okay; I don't really know everything about this kind of thing,

is there a way to turn off all of the notification sounds for email, calendar, and texts? There does not seem to be a global setting for things, and there's not individual settings for this, for example, with the calender, you can't turn off the sounds without turning off the on-screen pop-up reminder. Any apps for this I wonder.

Now that we installed ChompSMS, we need to turn off the notifications in the stock messaging app so that we don't get two notifications for each message. But I don't find any settings in the messaging app menu so that I can change it there. And I can't find it in the general Settings. So, how do I do this?

I couldn't find anything specific through a search, but whenever I get an email on gmail I get a white envelope notification. That is linked to the gmail folder. At the same time I get a black envelope with a white outline. I cannot figure out what email folder/widget/whatever it is linked to and I have to manually clear the notification.
Is there anyway to turn off the black envelope?

We'll this is a deal breaker for me, after being pretty happy with the RUU update and the speed improvement it brought to the stock music player.When using the turn by turn navigation, every time the voice comes in the player puts itself on pause.After the instruction is over it remains paused instead of resuming.Then I have to manually hit play again to resume playback.This is a big deal while driving since I don't want to be fidgeting with my phone every couple seconds.This was not an issue with 2.1 , since as soon as the turn by turn instruction was gone the music would automatically resume.

in Virtuous Rom 3.1 the Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation voice doesn't work...instead of speaking the directions, the voice rambles on about XML versions and a random website in a slow-motion voice. I'm shocked that I can't find any information at all about this on XDA or here.Does this happen to anyone else who uses Virtuous Rom 3.1? I tried to contact RMK via XDA PM but he hasn't responded yet, sent last night. I would really like a fix for this, Google maps navigation is fantastic.

In several of the battery tips/tricks to help batter life, they recommend to turn off the LED notifications for sms mms email etc. Well, it seems that even when all mine are un-checked the LED light still flashes green when I get a text/email etc. I'm refereing to the LED light that comes on when you charge the phone.

I noticed when I get a message, the notification light will only last a little while before it stops blinking. Is there a setting to keep the notification light going until the notification has been checked?I don't like having to power it up to know if I have a message, email, or missed call. I just like glancing at it to see if the light is blinking.

i love this new HTC Desire phone, but only thing i dont like about it, is the text messages appear on the bottom of the home screen. i dont want a preview of the messages i receive by text before i unlock the phone. how do i turn this off?

I have an LG Ally, and downloaded Handcent SMS, which I love since I can customize my texting notification to longer vibrations. Now though I receive 2 notifications for each text.I can't figure out how to turn off the texting notification that comes with the phone.

I'm running Android 4.1.2 on my Pantech Discover phone. how I can turn off notification sounds for text messages and email. The way the phone's working right now, I receive a sound notification of new text messages even when the phone is in Silent mode or Vibrate mode.

This problem only began after the android update last week.
I use go sms and successfully turned off its popup notification.
I have notification unchecked in the native message app on my skyrocket galaxy II. I noticed it says "display message notifications in status bar" It say nothing about popups...but I have it off anyway.
I use the iphone notifications app (mimics iphone banners). It works fine but I also get the popup with the android man... and I can't shut it off.
If I go into go sms and check the suppress other notifications... it works... so there is a process out there to suppress......
I just can't find the place that is generating the notifications....

This is really minor, but it's annoying to me to have an icon in my notification bar up top that USB debugging is connected. I realize I have to have the USB debugging option checked in settings, but it's annoying that this notification icon appears whenever I plug the phone into the computer.How do I disable this icon?

I know I am going to be embarrassed by this, but how do I just turn it off.I downloaded a ringtone from Mabilo sounds it was fee, but now I cant figure out how to turn it off.When I go into settings and notification ringtones, its not there.Even if it were and I could uncheck it, there is no option for no notification at all. Wat am I missing?

So this has happened the pretty much every night Ive owned the Evo. I close out everything on the phone, put it on the charger and make sure the screen is off. When I wake up in the morning, the phone is fully charged but I received a text message at 12:30 AM and my screen has been on ever since. Is there a setting that the screen turns off after a notification while charging?

So when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.

I keep getting a tone about every 30 minutes, I think its a notification that I have email. I don't mind the first time getting a message alert, but every 30 minutes gets kinda annoying. Anyone know how to turn it off? I do have handcent but that notification is turned off.

I use my verizon email on my droid, and would like to know how to turn off the notification sound. It will tell me that I have new email; if I don't read or delete all the new ones, it will keep reminding me every minute or so. Is there a way to turn of this notification sound? Does anyone know how to turn off the text message notification sound whilst on call? Ive never noticed this before my phone updated to the new 2.2 software and my old nokia used to give a little beep but the desire is a full blown message tone in your ear! Makes me jump everytime. Ive started putting my phone on vibrate to avoid this dreaded noise.
