I have a samsung galaxy s3 and i cant transfer anything to my macbook ive tried changing the usb setting to MTP but the android file transfer still says connect with a usb cable?

These photos were crops from larger photos so, stupidly in hindsight, I did not preserve any of them. I would like to copy all my contacts, complete with photos, to another phone. Copying the simple contact info is easy via the Gmail export/import procedure, but that does not copy the attached photos. Is there a simple way of copying contacts complete with photos?

but when i connect it to the computer, i am not able to transfer files between computer and phone as there is no option for it.my reverse tethering is working fine. on my phone it shows usb debugging mode.
I'd like to know if there's a way to use Titanium Backup to preform a backup and then transfer those backups to my computer ?
I know this may sound simple but am under the impression that when you make a backup of your ROM and other files on your device, it has to stay on the device.
When making a NANDROID backup, is it safer and more useful if one can store those backups on one's computer ?
Am sure there's a way to do this but am not sure if there's already an app for it.
Dumb question but how? Had the phone since launch and I must not take many pictures because I hadn't tried to transfer photos off the phone until today except for a couple 'shares' to Facebook. Was about to do this and can't find where they are on the sd card.

I understand that by doing an Nandroid backup, it backs up EVERYthing, from Rom, to apps, to data, all they way down to texts and every intimate detail about settings. I was wondering, when I do a Nandroid backup, and it saves the "nandroid" folder on my SD card, is this EVERYTHING I need? Reason being is this.
I WAS running CyanogenMod6. I have a nandroid backup on my SD Card of it. I switched to Ava's froyo ROM. I want to go back to Cyanogen using my nandroid but also want a nandroid of my Ava ROM im running now.
Could I: Transfer the Nandroid from my SD to my computer then create a NEW nandroid on my SD of AVA and have these be two complete backups of everything minus the special folders on my SD that isn't a Nandroid folder? I guess in easier terms im asking, is the ENTIRE nandroid backup stored in the nandroid folder and contain just the boot/data/system images along w/ the md5 file?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI finally switched to the droid after many years with my Iphone because I couldn't take the dropped calls anymore. I am pretty happy happy with the phone although I think it still needs a few updates. One of my biggest issues is how difficult it is to sync mp3's and photos to the droid. I have done plenty of research and the 2 best solutions for a mac seem to be Salling media and doubletwist. Both of these freeze during syncing and have never completed. I Find it really aggravating that there is no similar app to itunes or any easy way to sync.

I have .avi movie files on my PC. I want to put them onto my desire and watch them. I don't know how to do this from start to finish, can some please explain each step and where to put the files on the phone memory, as I dont see a movie folder?
I also don't see an option in menu section for video or movie? With my samsung it was easy, as the PC studio software left you drag and drop movies in, it converted them, and then went straight into the phones movie folder. Desire seems very different?
I recently purchased a Motorola Droid and I have to say that, while I am not easily impressed by anything, I am quite impressed with it. It is my first Android-based phone, so I am still learning the ropes. My question is this: When I take a video with my Droid, how do I transfer it to my computer? I tried emailing the video, but no attachments went thru. Is there a way to export it via USB, etc.? I know they can be sent straight to youtube if there is wifi available, but I want to send it to the computer for viewing, forwarding, burning to dvd, etc. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
