I have some photos in my drop box that I would like to send to my google drive so I can just get rid of drop box. Is this process as simple as copying and pasting the photos from my drop box folder to my google drive folder or will I lose picture quality?

I've been having an issue with both Google Drive and Dropbox.
I have all my roms, odin restore things, apk files, custom ringtones all stored in Google Drive, previously in Dropbox (I didn't like having to re-login each time I restored the app and data when I installed a new rom). I also store the actually folders themselves on my Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab 10.1, both on 4.0.4.
But my issue is that, whenever I download a file (.apk and .epub are the ones I tried because I was trying to install an app and add an ebook to the nook app.) it doesn't download correctly or something, because my .apks all say "Parsing error" and the Nook app tells me it can't open my ebooks even though, I can open both on my computer (Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, service pack 1). This happens on both my Galaxy Nexus and Tab, on both dropbox and Google Drive. Both Google Drive and Dropbox say they have synced the files correctly.
I realized it was Google Drive and Dropbox, because when I transferred the files directly from my computer to the each device, they worked. The app installed, and the ebook opened,.
I have a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.I am trying to sync all my Google Drive photos with my Google + account. In Google + I have checked the box to allow Google Drive to sync with Google Drive. Most of the pictures show up in Google + without a problem. Some however, do not. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to this either. All of my photo folders. It doesn't seem to be related to one format or another. (Ex. One JPG file is there and another isn't)

I have my Samsung Galaxy Note, iPad3, wife's iPhone and the kid's iPhones. I want each device to upload their photos & videos to specific folders in DropBox, one folder per phone.At the moment, all phones upload photos into the Camera Upload folder and I have to manually move them to the correct sub folder.

just trying out Google Play Music today. I'm confused though as I have around 10000 music files sitting in a folder on Google drive. I can't see an option to ask Google Play Music to look into Google Drive and upload the music from there. I have connected my Google play music app on my nexus 7 to my Google account' but nothing seems to happen. Surely Google is able to connect two parts of its cloud together and I don't have to re upload everything?

These photos were crops from larger photos so, stupidly in hindsight, I did not preserve any of them. I would like to copy all my contacts, complete with photos, to another phone. Copying the simple contact info is easy via the Gmail export/import procedure, but that does not copy the attached photos. Is there a simple way of copying contacts complete with photos?

I just uploaded a 1.5GB file to my Drive by mistake, now I can't cancel it except by rebooting my phone. If I start up the Drive app the upload restarts. I explored the Drive app but it seems there's no way to cancel an on-going upload.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just mounted my Evo as a disk drive so I could backup some of my older photos and then delete them from the SD card to free up space. Well I deleted over 1gb of media files and when I unmounted the SD card it still showed the same amount of free space as before.I opened up Astro File Manager to see if I could find the problem and the files were deleted from the various folders but when I clicked the menu button and selected Tools, I went to view the SD card usage and noticed a folder labeled .Trashes which contained the 1+gb of files that I deleted from the card.The problem is, I am unable to clear the .Trashes folder and free up that extre 1gb of space that I should have...Is there something I am doing wrong? How do I get that extra space back because there is no option to delete or clear the .Trashes folder and when the phone is mounted as a disk drive there is no path to that specific (.Trashes) folder.

The problem is that when I play an MP3 on the phone, no matter what app I choose to use to play it (and I've tried a bunch!) the MP3 opens in such a way that if I then switch to another app, playback stops. In other words, the Google Drive MP3 won't play in the background.
Is there any way to make MP3s play from Google Drive in such a way that they WILL play in the background? I've found some awkward workaround to do this -- like downloading the MP3 from the Google Drive web app, or like pinning the MP3 in the Google Drive Android app and then using an Android file manager to find the file and copy it to a folder that the music player searches -- but I really wish there was a better way!!! I have searched in Google play, but most apps:
- only backup sms, contacts and stuff like that, but now specific, self selected folders
or
- do not have a backup to Google Drive function
or
- can not schedule the backup

I have the google drive application on my desktop so that I store all my files both on my pc and in the cloud, but is there a way to have google drive on my phone and to automatically upload pictures I take using the phones camera but not to have all my files downloaded and synced to my phone as I don't need to have all my files in three places, is there a way of using my phone to view all of my files and possibly download them as if they were on my phone but not actually have them sitting there taking up all my space
so it would be like having the gallery I currently have and being able to view all my photos pretty much as normal but instead it is all stored online
when I say files I only mean photos and videos.
I developed my first (small) Andoid application using Eclipse and are now ready to transfer it to my Galaxy S mobile device (develping for Android 2.1)
Following another thread in SE, I changed the run mode in Eclipse to manual in the hope that I would be able to chose my phone and/or AVD every time I run the program.
The popup list howerver only show the AVD, my phone is not present in the list.
So obviously, my Samsung Galaxy S device is not recognized. Howerver, I can transfer to and from the device using a drive letter, so the USB connection is working properly.
Anyone any idea what I am missing here ? I'm not sure if it is an Eclipse problem , or a driver or ....
Is anyone getting the same problem as me when trying to upload photos taken with the camera to Google Photos, directly (from Photo->Menu->Share->Picasa). Photos are uploaded 100% complete but when i go onto Google Photos, the photos are chopped, only top 80-90% are there, the rest is filled with a grey border.

These are my own shots taken with a DSLR, they are printed and hanging and I used my Captivate to photograph them off the wall. The first one I instantly re-tagged because I didn't realize the exact name of what I photographed. I don't have a ton of photos but I want something similar to iTunes that will sync my photos on my PC with my tablet. I tried many options but eventually chose to install Picasa on my PC and sync my albums to web. Great, I thought, because now all my photos appear on my tablet and aren't taking up space on it. But now I'm having issues with the Facebook app. If I go into it and try to add a photo it only shows me my camera photos. If I go into the gallery app or Google+ Photos and try to share a photo, it gives me an error. It doesn't have this problem for any other app, I can easily add photos or share to Twitter or Instagram.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had been using Dropbox for Camera Uploads that I take with my phone so that I know I have them backed up, but Dropbox has such a low storage that I wanted to turn to Google Drive/Google Photos.
Ever since I made the attempted change. From what I've gathered, if you use Auto Backup for your phone, photos that you take will be uploaded to Google Photos BUT not into ANY album and simply sorted by date. Even local files that are neatly organized into folders are just thrown into Google Photos, forcing you to hope you can find that one photo you are looking for.
Of course, you can put those photos into albums AFTER you back them up/upload them but that's difficult, so why do they NOT have it organized by folders/albums? Is there no way to do this? I also wanted to be able to do that by having my photos from my desktop to backup to Google Photos but it is a hellish nightmare trying to sort through all of them.
I just want to be able to organize my photos (around 2k worth) and not have to take a day or two just to sort my photos in albums when they should be in the first place.
I finally switched to the droid after many years with my Iphone because I couldn't take the dropped calls anymore. I am pretty happy happy with the phone although I think it still needs a few updates. One of my biggest issues is how difficult it is to sync mp3's and photos to the droid. I have done plenty of research and the 2 best solutions for a mac seem to be Salling media and doubletwist. Both of these freeze during syncing and have never completed. I Find it really aggravating that there is no similar app to itunes or any easy way to sync.
