I have a SGS 3 and often use 2x client to RDP into my Windows PC. Everything worked great until I installed the free Windows 8 Enterprise 90 day evaluation on my PC. Now, the app will connect, and the PC thinks it is being accessed, but all I get is a blank screen on my phone.
I tried this with every other (free) RDP app out there and they all do the same thing.

If i download for example the source of Contacts.apk it shows errors like "ACTION_CALL_PRIVILEGED cannot be resolved or is not a field".

I have a samsung Captivate, I am trying to root the phone, but whenever i put it in debugging the phone can't connect to my computer (windows 7 x64). I have been trying to find a driver but none of them work, am I really going to have to pay $30.00 for a one time download of a driver or is there another way!?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have connected the Captivate to my Windows 7 64 Bit PC. I have downloaded the updated drivers and installed them. I have tried all the different types of connection as mass storage etc... Nothing seems to work. I can see the phone in Device Manager and in the explorer it shows three removable disks; however, when I try to open them it tells me to insert disk.
Does anyone know how to connect this to my PC?

However, when I try to connect to my Windows machine, my Droid X2 sees the machine, but when I try to connect to a service that my laptop is running I get
IOException: Connection refused
My BlueCove server has been tested using other computers and works fine.

Certain apps need to be connected to Facebook. They let you sign in to Facebook and then return to the app. Sometimes i then get error message 'can t connect' with certain apps, but when i look in Facebook, the apps seem to be connected. But still the app itself keeps displaying the error message.

All was working fine last year and had installed all my apps etc but recently tried to connect to the Market/Play Store to install other apps and it hung for a while then gave me the error:

Any way to automatically sync Play Store applications across multiple devices. In other words, I have a Nexus 7, TPad, LG Connect (work phone) and then I also switch between a GNex and Rezound (personal phone).
Is there anyway that if I download an app from one device that the app will also automatically be pushed/downloaded on the other devices?
It is a real pain to have to remember to go to each other device and download the app, and even worse when I switch between handsets that may not have been used for several week.

Chrome Beta bookmarks sync fine, it's only the builtin browser that is failing to sync. Basically it's just that over and over again. I've tried clearing the data in the browser app settings then resyncing, and I have also confirmed that on my PC my settings are set to encrypt passwords only (as a google search revealed some people had issues when encrypting everything).I'm a heavy user of my device and being unable to access my bookmarks is quite frustrating.
So I've had this Samsung Note 8.0 for around 6 months now. Had been content with it, but after the first couple firmware update (including the most recent one to 4.2.2) my front camera always fails. My rear camera works fine but when I select the self portrait icon, it will show up 'Camera Failed' and closes down. It has happen too often now, have done everything recommended online.

I get told that there is an update waiting in OTA , so I let it download, reboots, starts to install, then fails, reboots, tells me to try via KIES or contact Samsung. But when I go into Kies... there is no button to let me update my firmware... it just tells me my current firmware version, nothing else like it usually would...

I am about to build an app which needs to use device internal storage memory extensively, a lot of reads, writes and overwrites of the files.

I made a great app that runs great on android phones.It was obviously written in java.I am wondering now that I have the .apk file is there away to run it on a windows mobile phone.
My friend really likes it alot when he tried it on my android phone.He has however windows mobile phone.
Since it was written in java and runs on the dalvik VM I was wondering if there is a windows mobile phone app that allows you to run a .apk java based android phone app?
In theory all that would have to be done is allow windows mobile to load a dalvik VM to run the .apk file / .dex code.I don't have to reinvent the app for windows that would take alot more work
At that point I would probably be will to take a stab at getting a copy of the dalvik VM if it is not to tied down to the android os and writting on for windows phones to use http:/[url]....
ALso not only would it have to support the dalvik VM but also the android sdk functions...So more like an emulator of the whole android os... so I think maybe it would be even harder then just getting the dalvik VM running because you would have to also get the android os functions emulated as well ... i.e the android sdk... so more like a total android port instead of just a VM port.
Darn I don't think this is as easy unless of course you where just coding an app with a standard more universally excepted package like the J2ME then it would probably be a straight VM port but in that case J2ME is not really supported on the android any way....
So I think forget it for now until the phones are not so dependent on there sdk's / native code ,...etc. I don't blame java since it really is dalivk VM's fault and the fact that on an android the VM code is almost like native os code in that the functions are tied to the underlying machine code/sdk . As opposed to being more portable like a regular java VM.

2 - Any way to delete "remembered" words? For example, when I text people and I type "You?" it always defaults to "Yiy?" instead. It's really annoying!
3 - Is Better Keyboard any good? I love the default qwerty keyboard, but I have a few minor problems with it. The spacebar isn't big enough, I often accidentally hit the period button, for example. Just basically want one that's the same as the default but with a larger spacebar.
When it comes to smart phones and flashing. I recently got a HTC Evo and had it flashed to be on metro pcs to try and save a little cash on the bill. Well I think I am learning you get what you pay for. I am hoping I can get some tips or tricks from this forum. My phone will not run any apps really. It wont connect to facebook or the app store or google maps and youtube. Basicly all the social apps dont work. However if I connect it to WIFI it will run it them. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?
