Android :: Need Wireless Router Droid Incredible To Connect Internet
Apr 22, 2010Okay, so I am totally going to be new to the android phone. I am so excited! I have a question, and fear it may be a stupid one, but will ask anyway! Do I need a wireless router for my Droid Incredible to connect to Internet? Or will the phone connect to the Internet like my LG Dare already does (click on icon and it goes to Internet)? Or can I connect both ways? Do you know what I mean? I am supposing that that if I had a wireless router, that would allow me wifi connection. Is that faster than just using the phone on its own?

I even manually entered the network name and no security (which is how it's setup right now) and it still does not connect.

Aug 8, 2010Ok, I am rooted and have the wireless tethering app installed. @ 1st it worked pretty good, but here recently it will work for a few minutes then cause my internet to go out for like 30 min or so...but when I tether with pdanet it works for hours with no problem ever. what am I doing wrong when I wirelessly tether to make it stop working, when it stops working, my mac is still connected to the wifi but won't transmit anything.

Apr 28, 2010My new Incredible came yesterday! It's very nice, but there is one problem - I can't connect to the Internet via 3G, it works great at home on my network but away from home 3G will not work.
In settings - wirless & network - moblie network is "grayed" out. I called verizon tech and they said it might be because I received the phone before the release date and I should wait until April 29th or 30th and it should be working.
Anyone else having this problem? It's not like I live in a rural area, I'm in the LA - Orange County area.

May 20, 2010I can't figure out why my Hero won't connect to my home wireless system.
I'm able to connect in other hotspots around town but for some reason not in my own home.
I have my router set up with WPA-Personal security and after numerous times attempting to connect by entering that god awful encryption key (learned how to cut & paste on the Hero) no luck.
Reading other threads on this subject I took someone's advise and reset the router to use WEP security with the same results.
I have a wireless laptop and printer in the household that use my wireless system just fine. Why won't my Hero play nice?

Jul 16, 2010I have connected the Captivate to my Windows 7 64 Bit PC. I have downloaded the updated drivers and installed them. I have tried all the different types of connection as mass storage etc... Nothing seems to work. I can see the phone in Device Manager and in the explorer it shows three removable disks; however, when I try to open them it tells me to insert disk.
Does anyone know how to connect this to my PC?

Feb 16, 2014My HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. I've scoured the internet looking for answers but nothing so far.

I'm talking with them sending/receiving simple bytes to/from virtual port in Android. It works great.
But now I'm thinking about making such solution more mobile. I would like to have wireless USB hub, and tablet without any wires.

Cables To Go Wireless USB Hub
and a few more.
Unfortunately, none of them have Android support.
I think, there should be a special driver for receiving wireless data and connecting such data to the virtual port in Android.

I went out of town for the weekend and ever since I have returned my phone will not connect to my router.I have "forgotten" the network and re-entered the password but that didn't fix the problem either.It just says "obtaining IP address".

The EVO 4g says it is connected to my network OK, but the phone doesn't appear as a device or drive anywhere on the network where I can see it. USB connection works OK.
