HTC EVO 4G :: Apps Not Working - Saying Cant Connect Or Fail

When it comes to smart phones and flashing. I recently got a HTC Evo and had it flashed to be on metro pcs to try and save a little cash on the bill. Well I think I am learning you get what you pay for. I am hoping I can get some tips or tricks from this forum. My phone will not run any apps really. It wont connect to facebook or the app store or google maps and youtube. Basicly all the social apps dont work. However if I connect it to WIFI it will run it them. Is it cause metros data service sucks.

I'm using the Android APIDemo sample code.
When I run the CameraPreview example, at first it was giving me an error.(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2556389/android-camera-functionality-howto)
I traced that one down and the sample was working for a while.
Now, it no longer works. It says ERROR/AndroidRuntime(2949): java.lang.RuntimeException: Fail to connect to camera service
What can be causing that? It happens when camera.open() is called.

I apologize in advance for this long post, but it's necessary to show what is happening.
I've been working on an app that works on the 1.6 emulator, but bombs on my G1.
Here is the Photographer activity:

Having trouble pasting the relevant portions of AndroidManifest.xml, but I have permissions for Camera:

Also set for testing on G1:
android:debuggable="true"
and working off of 1.6:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" />
All this works on a 1.6 emulator, but when I run this on the G1, LogCat shows:

It sounds like the problem is a timeout issue, but I am at a loss as to where I should be looking ....

I had my camera set to this.setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE); and it works fine but if I change it to PORTRAIT instead of LANDSCAPE then it crashes with the following error...

The method it crashes in is..

It crashes at mCamera = Camera.open();
My Manifest file has <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.CAMERA"></uses-permission>
How do I fix this so I can view my app in Portrait?

I have installed Sipdroid into my android emulator 2.1. And i created users in Asterisk server. Then added the user account and password and other infor (like IP of Asterisk) into Sipdroid account (in emulator). But it could not connect to the server, it always fail to connect.

I had to unbrick my phone after trying to upgrade to 2.2. I used RSD lite as per the instructions on this site to go back to 2.01. I finally was able to force a 2.2 upgrade, but my apps were gone. Is there a way to retore apps, especially paid ones?

I'm a new VZ Samsung Fascinate user. I got the phone 4 days ago.
I have noticed that my bars are never full. I even compared it with my friend's Nexus One w/ her T-Mobile service and she had 3 bars when I only had 1.
I constantly get zero or 1 and occasionally 2 if lucky. I thought I was in a bad service area but I'm sitting at home where I had full bars before getting this one - same Verizon.
What could be the cause? Do I need to take it to VZ store (I got the phone from BestBuy) and have them take a look?
My apps - Facebook/Twitter/Google Finance/Etc are all slow and often fail because of low connectivity. It's really annoying and I'm not getting full 3G impact on my phone for $30 that I'm paying!

my friend bought me CAT B15 from US,(i live in Indonesia).when i use my cat B15 i realize that the phone cannot connect to 3G, because when i use the same SIM card to another android it can connect to 3G. and the dual SIM card cannot work too.i checked in setting menu, ther is no option for dual SIM card and for 3G.the contact support ask me to send it back to the distributor, but i think it's not make sense.

My browser doesn't seem to be working sometimes. My chip is 2G, so I know it shouldn't work Everywhere. But, as i write this on my laptop, i'm with my wi-fi on and working fine. But i can't seem to connect to any web-sites trough the browser (even though the twitter/face book updates are working alright). At my office however, it works fine!

Certain apps need to be connected to Facebook. They let you sign in to Facebook and then return to the app. Sometimes i then get error message 'can t connect' with certain apps, but when i look in Facebook, the apps seem to be connected. But still the app itself keeps displaying the error message.

None of my apps can updates or use my network. With or without 3g enabled. Also when gsm/ wcdma auto is used, I get just texts through, but when I use only one of those at a time. My signal dissappears completely.

I have a SGS 3 and often use 2x client to RDP into my Windows PC. Everything worked great until I installed the free Windows 8 Enterprise 90 day evaluation on my PC. Now, the app will connect, and the PC thinks it is being accessed, but all I get is a blank screen on my phone.
I tried this with every other (free) RDP app out there and they all do the same thing.

Google services on my PC works perfectly fine, but there is something wrong with my network, google apps wont connect on any device connected to my home modem. I have tried it on my Phone, tablets, on my brothers phone, it just wont connect. However, when I connected my phone with the network of my University, I worked the first time but the second time, same no connection problem.

I have an Enco B046 car radio which incorporates Android 3.2.2
All was working fine last year and had installed all my apps etc but recently tried to connect to the Market/Play Store to install other apps and it hung for a while then gave me the error:

I have internet access from the browser etc but just not Market and Gmail.
I have tried clearing the app data and even done a full wipe.
According to the 3G data icon it's trying to send data but receiving nothing back and it just times out.

Firstly and most irritating is the fact i cannot download apps off the android marketplace on wifi or 3G. I click download but the progress bar just remains on 'starting download,and secondly i can't connect email accounts properly my hotmail connects and doesn't pick up my emails and i can't even connect my googlemail.com address.

Would it be possible to "sync" my apps so that they all connect to the internet at the same time to update, as opposed to each doing them at different times?For instance, my k-9 mail checks for email every hour, but my News and Weather Widget checks every 30 minutes (I think), and my Beautiful Widgets Home Widget checks for weather every 2 hours. I fear that even if I set them all to 1 hour, they'd all be checking at one hour past the time I told them to check, which would still be different times. Is there any way to just sync all of my apps that automatically connect to the internet?

Any way to automatically sync Play Store applications across multiple devices. In other words, I have a Nexus 7, TPad, LG Connect (work phone) and then I also switch between a GNex and Rezound (personal phone).
Is there anyway that if I download an app from one device that the app will also automatically be pushed/downloaded on the other devices?
It is a real pain to have to remember to go to each other device and download the app, and even worse when I switch between handsets that may not have been used for several week.

I see threads about apps not working and that it is sluggish since the Froyo update. We have to realize that developers have to update their apps for Froyo. Some people saying third party browsers aren't as smooth. Again they have to update their app for the uniqueness of EVO. We have to realize that the EVO has HTC sense and its tricky to develop around.

I have a motorola droid and the 3D gallery just stopped working for no reason. every time I want to look at my pictures, a window pops up that says the app has stopped working and i have to force close it. A few days after that, my wallpapers stopped working too. I cannot access the wallpaper gallery at all...its just stuck on one of the non-live backgrounds I had a long time ago. Also, some of the other apps screw up sometimes for no reason. like when i want to open text messaging, it takes me to maps.

I try to make a repeater connection with an encore repeater router but the router recognize or detect the wifi signal of the phone and don't make a repeater connection. I test the router with others wifi signals and in make a repeater connection. The icon of the phone in the computer signal detection is like a home group connection.

My phone is Nexus one, Android 2.2
Starting from few days ago, I find that my browser (Both the build in "Browser" and "Dolphin HD") is not working.
When I open these Apps, it shows the App screen. Then I saw it trying to load the website, after a while (1 - 2 seconds), the Apps just terminated and back to the phone's main screen.
If I turn off WIFI and 3G (means makes no connection to outside), both browser Apps can show a "website not available" page without terminate themselves automatically. But then if I keep the browser screen and activate the WIFI/3G again, and try to type a URL and go, the browser terminate again......

I've just updated my nexus one to 2.2. Now all of my (own and some from the market) apps throw exceptions and were closed.
It's weird, in the app I'm developing atm, there it displays only my start page with buttons, but when I tap on one button to fire an intent to another activity my app gets closed with an exception.
Yesterday before the update everything worked fine.
The same thing in my emulator:
I have two devices, one with API level 7 and one with level 8. Level 7 worked fine, but level 8 killed my app :
What is the problem and how can I solve this? I'm desperatly trying to get it working again :
