i cant wait to get my Xperia upgraded to 2.1! i have one issue though. i only have access to a work PC with XP but no admin account (big corp, so no chance of getting it temporarily) or my housemates Mac. my girlfriend has a laptop but she wont be home until next weekend are there any non-windows/non-admin methods of upgrading?

I have tried on many occasions now to run a Windows Update via the device itself. Each time I try, eventuly I get an error stating that the device could not connect to the server and to check my connection settings. I have an unlimited plan so I know I have not exceeded my limit, plus I can browse the internet and use programs that require a connection fine. Does anyone know why this is happening? Or had the same problem and has found a resolve? I am currently on Windows Mobile 6.1.

I want to connect the phone to the PC via wifi but I'm not able to I've tried ES file explorer and I can connect to the PC but I'm unable to open the shared folders. 1. I bought the new one before update software to R3AA035 - originally, can sync Only my contact, calender, and task in only 2 hours. I have some contact, but in other phone product, sync only takes 30 minutes. so special with XPeria X2 with WM 6.5

View 2 Replies View Relatedright so the bottom buttons were working fine, but the next day, the back button takes me to the home screen :S so if im on facebook, press the back button, instead of going to the previous page. and i also set up the draw thing to unlock it, but as it was raining a little it said i entered it wrong too many times and asked for the google mail thing... but i really have no rememberence of making one, which is so ******* annyoying.
the only way ive found out to solve this problem is doin a phone software update, however as my bottom right button is working properly, everytime i hold it down to plug the phones usb, the phone just starts normally, so basically i cannot do the system update.
I am currently using a x10i (x10?) on tmobile, i have the data plan ($10), and have my email connected via gmail. however, it seems like i have to do manual refresh in order to get email update. Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. It give me a msg that mailbox access is not supported for some tpes of yahoo mail accounts. Could this be an interference with gmail email, thus causing the problem? Even, using the manually setup option, it still fails to connect to my yahoo account.
I have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?
I have been trying to add an email account to my phone through the email button.I have also tried using K-9, but still no luck.I have added my gmail account with no problem, but would also like to add my yahoo email address.There seems to be a facility to do so.I have put my yahoo address and password in to the appropriate section, but the next page asks for my 'Username'.Any idea what the 'Username' means?I have tried putting in my yahoo email address, both with and without the 'yahoo.ca' bit, but I get an error message saying 'Setup could not finish.Username or password incorrect'.

This worked and the keyboard came back to french.But now i can't access to any Google app, as Market, Gmail, etc.It's asking me to log in to my google account (it never ask me that before, even when i bought the phone), but it's always telling me that my password is wrong and advice me to connect http:/google.com/accounts on my PC. I did it and i can access to my google account without any problem.Then i updated my phone to Android 2.1, but it didn't solve anything, i tried to repair it with Update service and PC Companion, but it didn't help more.I found on internet that i could put "null" as my password, but then it's asking me to reproduce a capcha, i did but it's asking me to reproduce another one, again and again.I noticed than my phone seems to have some trouble to connect with my SIM card, don't know if it's link.I don't really want to send my phone to repair for 3 weeks, but this is becoming really annoying, what can i do ?

However, when I open an email from the phone, it would still show as "unread" when I open my Hotmail account from a laptop / computer. Is there a way this can be changed, so that when an email is opened/read on the phone, it would also show as open/read when I open my Hotmail account from a laptop?

Just upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 on my X10 and now cant get Hotmail to connect up. 02 UK Contract account. I have a BT Yahoo account working fine on it, but Hotmail refuses to work. O2 have sent me the settings and I have put them in manually too, still nothing works. The phone just sits for hours with the message "checking incoming server settings".

Tried tech support, but they were of no help. Said I needed to use gmail instead. Can't change everything over at this late date. Have archived stuff in hotmail going back years. Did I load hotmail to the X10 incorrectly? Is there a way around this? They may get the phone back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to deactivate the Google account (due to a privacy issue) that I was using on my laptop and it was the one I was using on the phone also. Now that I've deactivated it, I am no longer able to use the android apps, or change things within the phone because on not being able to log into that account. The login page comes up with the old account asking me for my password, but of course, like I said, it is no longer in use, and it doesn't let me change the user name as I've made another goggle account. I have tried to change things in the settings, but all I've done it seems is to have screwed it up more.
