I know that google market blocks protected apps from non-authorized devices like the legend and I've done lots of searching in this forum and other sites but could someone please reiterate: any timeframe for this to be sorted? Or what's the best workaround? Is there a site we can download apks for (example) layer and install that way? Or is it easier/quicker to mod the phone so it works in marketplace?

I've been having problems downloading apps, and updating apps this past week. Uk T-mobile branded handset, updated to 2.2 a few weeks ago via T-mobile ota update. Also followed the noobs guide to force apps to AD, freeing up some extra ram. Just having issues updating programmes like
Opera Mini
Co pilot
Google Maps
And just tried to install..............
Have a work-issued HTC Magic here and have installed all sorts of free stuff. Just wondered what happens when I get my own Hero early next year? Can I "move" my applications over? Do I need to pay for them again? I've not created a Market Place account yet - is it tied to a handset?

When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.

However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

View 4 Replies View RelatedPeople are having problems finding my app (Advanced Map Live Wallpaper) in the Android Market.It's free, not copy-protected, and the only requirement is SDK level 7 or above. However, it's invisible on some Nexus 2.1 devices, a lot of Droids (2.1), and a smattering of other phones.The fact it disappears seems to be completely random, and it's driving me nuts because I don't know if it's a misconfiguration by me somewhere or a Market problem.I know there's been an issue for copy protected apps, but I can't see how this applies to me.

If I go to the application manager I can see there these apps. Google talk, ringtone trimmer and stream media player by HTC, but they're not in the menu. How can I access them?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to download the "Desktop Visualizer" (a free app) but it wasn't showing up in the market, and no matter how I tried (QR codes, direct links, appbrain), I couldn't get it to download. Turns out it's copy protected, which seems to be the problem. I'm running 2.1 on my milestone (rooted) but I've googled a bit, and other rooted people don't seem to have this problem. Does anyone know what's causing it, and, if known, how to fix it?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI just noticed while upgrading from the "pulled" 2.2 to the "official" 2.2 some of my purchased apps are no longer available from the market. Cannot be found at all. Someone said that Google has to approve every new ROM to get complete access to the market. I was just wondering if it is I who have the glitch or if anyone else has the same problems. I have heard from two other sources (in Sweden) who have the same issues.

I have some trouble with apps using the compass though:
When the Legend lies flat on a table there is no problem in finding North and South. When I turn the phone the compass needle stays. (Using the Compass app from the Market). But when I pick up the phone and hold it vertical (this is required for most Augmented Reality applications) it only points at South. And it's very annoying.
This happens with Google Street View Compass mode, Layar, Google Sky Map and the Compass application. I haven't tried other programs.
So is there something wrong or does something need calibration?
What I have tried till now:
- Waved the phone in an 8 shape for a while.
- Calibrated the G-Sensors.
- Tried in different locations making sure nothing magnetic is near by.
- Tried tipping the back of the phone.
Since the market is not open to India for paid apps - What will be a good server/store to host paid apps that target indian audiences?

All it's okay but i have problem with aplications. How can i save a download aplications automaticly on SD Card?? before when i have CM7 by Thyphoon there was option to do it automaticly. Now it's gona not possible? i need to save all download applications on SD card because my memory on HTC HD2 is too small for too much apps.
So I made a folder on astro and I put some pictures in it and then I made it hidden and now my music and pictures are hidden . How do I fix this with out making the pictures unhidden.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Legend and am loving it for the most part. But I have one big problem - apps are not accessing the internet when not on WiFi. I have Vodafone, and the EDGE connection (we don't have 3G in India yet) works in the Internet browser, but none of the apps (twitter, facebook, nytimes, kayak) work on EDGE. Is there something I need to change in permissions or settings? All these apps have full internet access in their permissions, so I don't get why they are not working.
