Mar 25, 2010I am creating an application that checks the installation of a package and then launches the market-place with its id.
When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.

However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

Games :: Camel Games Blow Up / Flight Director Are Free?
Sep 21, 2010It appears Camel Games is now giving these three games away. I'm also left wondering what happened to their other games such as Super Tumble, as only the Lite version is left. Maybe that's going free, too? Hyper Jump is also missing from my latest search (whereas the Lite version is there). I'm somewhat in shock as these are some quality games!? Hopefully we'll find out the full story soon.

Nov 8, 2010It's a hugely entertaining Puzzle Bobble-style reaction-tester. The aim is to fire brightly colored balls from a brightly colored cannon. When you get three brightly colored balls in a row, they disappear and you get some points. The tension comes as the balls wind their merry way towards a little yin-yang symbol. For some reason, the yin yang wants to eat your brightly colored balls--hey, it makes as much sense a blue hedgehog running around picking up rings. If it succeeds in swallowing your spherical friends, you lose. Robot Defense You don't get this tower defense game for free, but the demo is smashing anyway. Basically, the deal is that robots want to crush your human flesh and use your blood as some sort of newfangled robo-lubricant for their robotic joints. Your job is to protect your arse and the arses of those flesh-and-bone sacks closest to you. Battleship If you can play this game without hearing the "you sank my battleship" line from The Simpson's, we'll be very impressed indeed. There isn't much anyone can say that will persuade us that Battleship isn't one of the greatest games ever devised. And now, you can play it on your Android phone!

Aug 23, 2010Now the new season has properly started I really want a good app that tracks scores properly so I thought we could all discuss the ones on offer. I use 'Soccer Score Centre lite' at the moment but I'm not happy with it - as I can't figure out how to track games taking place (apart my 'my club') and it doesn't lock the screen so my screensaver comes on and then it doesn't refresh properly. I know fotmob is a popular app as well - could I seek people's views on that? I'm after an app that shows you all the live games (and when clicking on them you can find out the scorers, the yellow / red cards and so on) and for it to show you the upcoming fixtures as well.I'm a championship support - not EPL - so it needs to cover all leagues. Surely that is not too much to ask? I know there have been a few threads on this already - but not since this season has started and frankly the ones on offer appear crap
