Jul 20, 2010After awhile of heavy SMS use if i open a message and go to type to respond the words i type do not show up on the screen. Id i minimize the keyboard it shows. If I expand it they go away.

Dec 10, 2009What is the best "Wallet", "Password Protector" type program out there for the Android OS? I would prefer one that has a desktop application as well. I was reading the forums on "Splash ID" but it is getting ripped because it cannot tether to phone, you have to use WIFI to sync it with desktop application. I sent them an email and asked if they were looking into a tethering solution and they have yet to replay and it has been a while!
Any thoughts, a good "wallet" application anyone?
General :: Changing App Type Or App Action Type?
Nov 7, 2013My current situation is that I have a phone with 2 camera apps on it, stock and camera FV-5.
Camera FV-5 is slower than the stock camera, so I only use it in situations which I need manual control.
Whenever I open whatsapp and try to send a photo, the app asks me which camera I want to use, with no option to always use stock. I don't want camera FV-5 to exist as an option, as I will open it if I want to use it.
Is there a way to remove an app from the list so that my phone does not recognise camera FV-5 as a camera?

Dec 14, 2009I'm aiming to develop an application on Android 1.5 that is required at one point to list all contacts and display the type of contact ie SIM, Phone or Google. I can easily list all the contacts by using Cursor curAllContacts = getContentResolver().query(People.CONTENT_URI, null, null, null, null); And looping through the cursor and I can use code like the sample below to get fields of data.My question is, is there any field in the people table or a related table that holds a value to define where the contact came from (SIM, Phone or Google)?

Feb 29, 2012I'm looking for a cheap-ish, reasonable spec., probably secondhand Android phone for my daughter which must be capable of video (pref. 2 way) Skype-type calls via wifi.
It won't be having any kind of SIM (PAYG or contract) in it initially, but must function as Skype-type video phone via wifi - unless someone tells me that's not possible! I can put my own O2 SIM in it if necessary to set up whatever needs doing to make it function.
Is it possible to set up a phone in this way? (ie. to be able to make & receive Skype-type video calls without having a SIM card in it).
If it is - how exactly do I do it? Should I use Skype as a carrier or are there other providers who would do the job better/easier? Which Android phones will best do the job?

Oct 29, 2010On your HTC EVO 4G, go to Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch Input > International keyboard and check the box in the screen shot attached. Now go into the app that you want to type the degree symbol in and use the microphone key with the EN underneath to access the degree symbol. Go to 12# > 1/3 and you will see a degree symbol, along with the degree C & degree F symbols.

Someone claimed it worked on their Moment, but the two I've tried (one at Sprint, one at Best Buy) do not do it. I have searched through the settings menus and the owner's manual and have not found a way to enable this feature. Any suggestions? This is a deal-breaker as I need to be able to type both English and French. I need it to work both on-screen and with hardware keyboard.

Nov 29, 2009Got a HTC Droid Eris the other day and absolutely love it.However, when adding a new contact on the phone, the drop bown menu box only lists "Phone" and does NOT give a "Google" or "Exchange" option as is indicated on p. 72 of the pdf "User Guide for Droid HTC Eris" by Verizon. I have examined 3 others Droid Eris phones of friends/family, and on each of their phones when adding a new contact the drop down menu box does list the "Google" option in addition to the "Phone" option.The problem with not being able to select "Google" as the contact type is that the contact information does not "sync" with the Gmail "Contacts List" online.

Can I set default notification time & type (email vs pop-up) from within this app across all calendars, individual calendars, or not at all? If I open Google Calendar on a PC, I know how to set default notifications on a per calendar basis, but cannot figure out how to do it within this Calendar app.

Nov 22, 2010We have a user name and telephone field. User opens android keyboard and enters user name. Then in the keyboard user clicks the 'Next' button and it launches the telephone type keyboard. But the same behavior is not observed in case of swift keyboard. If user chooses swift keyboard, App doesn't bring the telephone keyboard on click of telephone field. Is there anyway I can enforce user to use Android Keyboard?
