We have a user name and telephone field. User opens android keyboard and enters user name. Then in the keyboard user clicks the 'Next' button and it launches the telephone type keyboard. But the same behavior is not observed in case of swift keyboard. If user chooses swift keyboard, App doesn't bring the telephone keyboard on click of telephone field. Is there anyway I can enforce user to use Android Keyboard?

In the screenshot at the bottom, you can see the virtual keyboard contains a returnline key and no "Done" key. I would like to specify a different style of keyboard to use (and hopefully retain the spell checking bar). I would like my virtual keyboard to have a "Done" key instead of a return key. Can I set the style of virtual keyboard I'm wanting in the EditText's XML?

Anyway, the onscreen keyboard doesn't activate when a type/search field has been tapped on the screen.
The OS is Android 4.1.1
He's other tablet which is the same works, but the screen is cracked so he bought another one of these hideous unresponsive pieces of crap.

View 4 Replies View Relatedits terrible. just cant type anything without mistakes. thats bullshit. tried to install some other keyboards, but even though theyre enabled in language & keyboard, i cant get them to work after froyo update (orange, unrooted). as much as i love my desire, yesterday i was so angry i almost smashed it on the wall because i was getting pissed of with the mf keyboard! i dont need fkin updates if the most important thing doesnt work - the keyboard! i also have an 3 gen ipod touch. the screen is smaller, resolution smaller, but typing is sweet.

First, my phone would just freeze on me for awhile and then unfreeze like nothing happened. Second, my screen turned completely black twice for no apparent reason. And third, I can't even type using Swype or the stock keyboard anymore! It's either I can type but it won't show.. or I just can't type anything at all as if it's stuck.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a CDMA Hero and when ever I type in landscape, the on screen keyboard is really laggy. The portrait keyboard is fine. I use handcent sms and I've tried to turn off sound and vibration still no luck. I've tried to use the default messaging app and its the same...any solutions?
I've tried use the stock HTC keyboard and better keyboard with no luck, both still lag while in landscape mode.
I have rooted the phone and flashed Fresh 2.0d.
When you press the 'google search button' on your Hero it takes you to the Browser.. I then turn it in landscape mode to get a bigger keyboard. As soon as I press any of the keyboard buttons the keyboard bounces up and down..thus you can't type properly..

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy current situation is that I have a phone with 2 camera apps on it, stock and camera FV-5.
Camera FV-5 is slower than the stock camera, so I only use it in situations which I need manual control.
Whenever I open whatsapp and try to send a photo, the app asks me which camera I want to use, with no option to always use stock. I don't want camera FV-5 to exist as an option, as I will open it if I want to use it.
Is there a way to remove an app from the list so that my phone does not recognise camera FV-5 as a camera?
My login for jabber account contains "point" symbols ( ���dima��� ).
So, how I can paste or type it in the application?
PS These symbols are the same which displayed while entering passwords
I really like better keyboard pro except for one thing: when i type the phrase/word "lol" it always suggests "LOL" (all caps) and auto types it when i press space (auto-correct feature) the only problem is i almost never capitalize this word, any way to get it to stop doing this without disabling auto-correct?

I was under the impression that swiping left would toggle between the 2 but all that does is bring me to the numbers and symbols keyboard. I've been changing back and forth to the android keyboard because its faster than going into the better keyboard settings.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

- Added option to disable notification icon

Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

How to detect if the phone has a physical keyboard, and not an on screen software keyboard? The reason I need to do this is because my app needs multiple keys pressed simultaneously, and this isn't possible with an on screen keyboard.

I am new in Android and i am working to make an on-screen keyboard which can be visitable via arrow(direction) keys of my external keyboard. I mean i wanna move left, right, up and down in the on-screen keyboard's UI (keys) with pressing arrow keys from my external(hardware) keyboard. The key that cursor is on should be focused, when i press an arrow key from my external keyboard the focused key should change and when i press "enter" from my external keyboard it should be operated.(written to the screen etc.) How can i make this? Is there any idea? How can i make virtual keyboard's keys visitable? It doesn't look like moving around a matrix of buttons.
