View 2 RepliesMy Treo had this option, and so did the Hero that I had for a few weeks. When a call is coming in, there is an option on the screen to ignore the call and reply with a text message. I realize this can be done just by pressing the "hangup" button and then unlocking the phone, and then opening the SMS app, finding the person's contact info, and replying, but a one-button process would be really nifty.If there is not such an app, where's a good place to start learning how to write one?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an activity that shows up when the phone screen goes to sleep/turns off ie turns black.
For some reason, the phone turns on when the volume buttons or the camera buttons are pressed. By turns on, I mean the screen wakes up or comes back from the black screen state.
I've tried using dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) and the buttons are disabled on the activity, but they still wake up the phone.
before froyo I would be able to hit the top button during an incoming call, the phone would silent and the caller wouldn't know I am sending him/her to voicemail. Now this is no longer an option. I had to swipe up to decline, swipe down to answer. Anyone else notice this? Need to test what swipe up to decline actually does. I've also noticed that GMAIL app no longer refreshes for mail automagically and some apps rotate only one way, like market, most of the top does not work in portrait. Ex: Just now I start Market in Portrait, it opens in landscape and won't switch...Anyone else notice little things like this? Maybe there is some re-configuration/re-calibration that needs to be done after FROYO 2.2 OTA update? Wish Verizon would have given us a heads up

View 1 Replies View Relatedon my Xperia 10 after upgrading to OS 2.1, I lost the ability to press the on/off button on top to ignore a call which would also send it to any "forward when busy number".Anyone have a suggestion of what will do that now?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a halfa** search of jsut this fourm because I'm at work and it is the only one I can get to. I was wondering if any of the rooted Linix gurus around these parts knew of an easy set of commands I can type using ADB, or a quick patch that would return my phone to the home screen when end call is pressed. It is drivig me crazy. I know about the program NotCallLog, but before I install yet another program onto my baby.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem and that is my SplashScreen I have. It is built as an intro and after 3 seconds it shows the main menu of the program. Anyway, if I press down Back or Home button during the time the SplashScreen shows, it closes, but the activity I have chosen to follow after the SplashScreen will still run after the three seconds.
My code: **UPDATED CODE**
Handler ur = new Handler();
myRun = new Runnable() {
public void run() {
mainIntent = new Intent(SplashScreen.this,MyApp.class);
SplashScreen.this.startActivity(mainIntent);
SplashScreen.this.finish();..........................
scoured "call volume" threads and not sure if this is experienced by anyone else. Intermittently when I answer a call I can barely hear the other person. Call volume is at the highest setting. I try making it lower then higher and nothing changes. If I end the call and call the same person back I will get normal call volume behavior. This happens every 5-10 phone calls.
sound like an issue with the hardware?
1.) Model Number ? Droid
2.) Firmware Version ? 2.0.1
3.) Baseband Version ? C_01.3E.01P
4.) Kernel Version ? 2.6.29-omap1-g0dd7e0b android-build@apa26 #511
5.) Build Number ? ESD56
I bought my captivate 3 weeks ago from Amazon. It works well overall and I do enjoy a lot. Besides the GPS issue, low in-call volume bothers me all the time. Calls can only be heard clearly in a very quiet place, otherwise I need to keep saying sorry to people on the other end of line. I did search around the forum, no useful information on this subject can be found. So I am curious whether this issue only happens randomly on some handsets or it is a already solved issue which no one even bothers now?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've noticed many threads on the volume levels of the HTC Desire, all to do with the speaker volume for music, notifications and alarms. I have no problems with these, they're perfectly acceptable to me. However, the in call volume on this phone is ridiculously low, if there is any noise in the room at all I can't hear a thing and this is with the volume maxed. Using headphones or the speakerphone it is fine. Is there a fix to increase the in call volume beyond the current maximum?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am torn between the xperia and and the desire. While i like the xperia most the only thing that is holding me back from buying this phine is the low in call volume reported by many users. View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?
View 23 Replies View RelatedIs there a way (or app) to stop changing the in-call volume. Reason I am asking, is that I tend to bump the volume rocker during calls and it keeps going up/down. Is there a way to set it and then if you want to change it you have to confirm the change or something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I answer or make a call, the in-call volume is automatically set to the highest level. I'll manually bump it down two or three notches and it sounds fine, but then it goes right back to maximum volume for the next call. I've been through the menus, and I can't seem to find anywhere to adjust the default in-call volume. Does anyone know how to make that change?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI made the switch from a BB Bold 9000 to the Captivate last Friday and so far I am in love! There is just one issue that I would love to gloss over but it's important given that it is a phone so I'd like your input. There was one other thread on this that sounds kind of like what I'm experiencing but I just wanted to be sure before I go in and exchange it.
When I am on a call, it is rather difficult for me to hear the person on the other end. I have the volume turned all the way up but not only is that not that loud but they also sound muffled. If it were one or the other I might be able to deal, but I never had trouble hearing on my BlackBerry and I never had the volume turned all the way up. It's gotten to the point where I'm unknowingly pressing the phone against my ear really hard so I can hear better. Has anyone else noticed that callers sound muffled? Should I exchange it?
I have trouble hearing people talking on the x. Does froyo make the speaker louder also. Is GPS louder too
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've noticed times when my in-call volume is stuck on high even when turned all the way down to the lowest setting. I traced this to having previously connected to a bluetooth device for phone use (this happens with two different bluetooth accessories). After disconnecting from bluetooth (whether or not the bluetooth antenna is also turned off), call volume is extremely loud and doesn't respond to the volume-down key. I have to reset the phone to get it back to normal. Anyone else notice this? Any fix for this? I presume this is a bug in the Android 2.1 OS. BTW--this also happens with a friend's Eris running a 2.1 leak v3.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been using my google I/O Evo for a few days now, and i've noticed that i'm having quite a bit of trouble hearing people talk during a call. My hearing is pretty average(I think?) and I'm holding the earpiece directly toward my ear. I've tried pressing the volume rocker to the max for high volume output, but callers sound extremely faint. I've never really had this issue with my past flip phones. Am I missing a volume control somewhere, or do you think i have a defective unit?
