View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to add someone from my contacts to a text message without putting in the number. When I type in a name it only brings one name up and will not show the rest...example I type in Bethany and it will only show Bernita. What gives?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAlright so I REALLY need to create a group contact folder. You see I have to manage about 10 guys and its convenient that they all have cellphones whats NOT convenient is I can't find a way to put them into a group and text them with one group message! I need to make sure these guys show up to where they are needed and texting all 10 of them separately is a pain in the rear end. So far the other threads don't seam of any use.

I know my BB was unllimited. I saw a hack for the windows Op sys. by going into the regedit. how about on the droid system?

As I am a new user I do have a question. When I try to compose a text message in the Messaging app my contacts do not show up whether I search by phone number or by name. My contacts are synced with my phone through my gmail account. I am able to see my contacts as well as go into the contacts app and send a text from there. Is there something that I am doing wrong or perhaps just not getting?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen i want to compose a new text.I tap the face icon top right and when my contacts come up 95 % are there twice.Meaning name twice and number. But if i close out and go to all contacts, groups, update events etc.It does not show double contacts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Samsung Fascinate obviously but I'm annoyed with one Android feature. I managed to get only my contacts to sync what I want (not e-mails). However, when I send text messages, the message contacts seems to all the e-mail addresses I've previously sent e-mails to.
Is there any way to get rid of that? And why the heck isn't it the same as my contacts?
Why is when I send a text message or an email it automatically adds them to my contacts?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I updated my phone yesterday...When I go to create a text message and enter the recipient it is not finding anyone. There is a few names/e-mails that pop up but not the ones im looking for. My address book is still the same and it is people I regularly message.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am considering buying an Andoid phone, and I have checked out the features on my wife's Hero. On such a business phone.I expect a Contacts/PIM that can organize all my business contacts by their companies. I would say that Company as a PIM entry is the most elementary feature of a PIM.Today I have a Windows phone (WM5), which has a great PIM for business contacts, with email address, business phone, switchboard phone, web address, company name, business address, private address, etc, etc.On Andoid Market I find nothing similar. It is unbelievable! All I find is a Group feature, which is something completely different. This is a show stopper for me.How can Android work for business people? Does anyone know of a PIM with full business card features?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSomehow I changed the settings on my phone so that the predictive text has started prioritizing the names in my contact info when auto completing the text. For example, if I type "thr" it won't suggest "the" but "Theo". I recall changing a setting somewhere in the phone that enabled this, but now I want to turn it off and have no idea where this setting was buried away.

Is there something I need to do to find all my synced info? View 6 Replies View RelatedConverted blackberry of 5 years here. Just signed up but I've been reading everything about the DInc since I got it on 4/29. I've see a lot of FB syncing posts, but I'm not sure if anyone found a solid resolution for it. What I'm trying to do is this, and maybe this question and answer can be a good area to finalize the solution instead of looking through all of the 100 threads that have been hijacked and derailed 100 times over.
Bottom line,
I have 400 FB contacts who I don't care about
I have 100 Phone contacts who I do care about.
I want to link my FB info only to the phone contacts that I have (meaning leave the 300 people on FB out of my contact list, and update the people on my phone list only). Now I've found a partial solution so far - but my end result is not good.
1. Sync facebook under accounts and wait for all contacts to appear in your contact list.
2. proceed to scream and yell and ask your ceiling why the hell all these people are on this list.
3. in people - menu - choose only phone, and make sure facebook is unchecked. That seems to solve 50% of the problem.
But when you go to dial, every single person from hell to heaven shows up in that phone list, and there is no way to filter just "phone" contacts, vs. "facebook" contacts like you can do in your people app. Is there anyway, somehow, at this point in time, that you can get rid of those FB friends from your phone list? Or do we have to deal with this for now? And also, I'm ready to just remove facebook, and use the mobile site, because I can't stand typing in john, and having 2 in my phone book, but 20 come up because of my FB friends who I don't give a rat's a$$ about. What have we found yet, and sorry if I'm being redundant, that being said, that's no excuse for being redundant but I did use the search feature and I found nothing but derailed posts, and complaints, but what we need is a solution for this.
What is the easiest way to transfer all my contacts and info from my nextel blackberry to my Epic?
View 20 Replies View RelatedI have put this on a few threads but it obviously only get read by a few people hopefully this will help backup your contacts in the phonebook, when in the phonebook press the menu key, then more you have the option to backup contacts select that and back them up to your SD Card, you can install them back from here after the update .SE Backup and Restore does seem to lose your contact list after update, it also appears to lose the apps.I found out after a previous update that backup and restore lost my contacts so this time I used the phonebook backup. It stores it as one VCF file, you just import it after update and it puts all contacts back as they were before.I only say it appears to lose the apps as I used it for this backup and there were no apps there but I had them on my SD Card anyway.Use the phonebook backup don't rely on Backup and Restore
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Triumph (running CM7) and stream music via Bluetooth to my Sony DSX-S300BTX head unit in my car. The quality and consistency of the audio is flawless and can also use my head unit to change tracks and pause/play music with no issue. I recently began using Google Music on my PC and it made sense to use the Android app for accessibility purposes. The only drawback I have experienced is that the artist and song title info is no longer shown on my car stereo. This functionality worked perfectly using my previous phone (WP7 LG Quantum w/ Zune Pass) and on my current Triumph with the stock music app packaged with any version of CM7. I download and listen to quite a bit of new music and this functionality is pretty much a must have feature for my primary music app.
The only workaround I have thought of would be to sync music via the Google Music app and then listen to it via the stock music app. This is less than ideal due to the fact it involves 2 apps and takes away the option to stream music not downloaded to my phone. Also, the Google Music app has a much nicer UI compared to the stock app. If you don't know of a specific fix, but have some knowledge of A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles.
Running KK and trying to export some contacts using the stock export function in contacts - problem is that the generated vcf is in 2.1 format. This is not good, the export lost some info, such as custom labels of phone numbers.
Then I tried to found an app on the market that does that - not ONE have i found. All of them either do the export in 2.1 format; or they backup on the cloud; or send the contacts by mail; or use proprietary format.I just want to backup my contacts with all the info on my sdcard and be able to restore them.
What's strange is that the stock import contacts knows how to read 3.0 vcards and that I was able to do this thing I'm looking so hard now on my ancient SGS1 running GB.
I am currently trying to repair a soft bricked(stuck in boot loop) Samsung Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile) . I am trying to save the info (contacts,sms,pictures..etc). Would using Odin to flash CWM Recovery and doing a nandroid backup and then restoring the phone to factory settings. Would it somehow save everything in the internal memory and fix the phone?
