View 1 RepliesI've wasted 30 min of life trying to send files to my tattoo then i google and read one message on this forum WHY? why why why? what were they thinking of? in my past experience, i've found motorola phones to have some really really dumb illogical ways of doing things! this is my first htc phone i was liking it so far but this bluetooth thing is winding me up! question: what's the best way of getting a file transferred. I was trying to transfer a pdf - assuming in advance that I'll be able to read pdfs!

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt would be useful for me to have an application to exchange files between my Tattoo and a PC through WiFi.
I was thinking about something standard, like FTP or Windows file sharing.
Do you know if an app like this is existing ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded free software and games to put on my HTC Tattoo. How do I go about getting those files on my phone. Do I extract them first to my computer and then put it on the sd card, and where do I put the files in the sd card. Have tried all the files but do not see the application on my phone. I even tried HTC sync but with no success. I am new to the android phone, before that I was a Nokia and Sony Ericsson fan, but got convinced to get a HTC from my brother in law. His got the HTC HD and loves it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIve read the specification sheet of the HTC Tattoo, and realized this feature:Java MIDP 2.0 - Yes
Then my question is, why cant I install .JAD nor .JAR files?
- ASTRO keeps opening the file, as some sort of text editor, and when uninstalling ASTRO, the phone tells me that its an unknown file type.I mean, if the phone supports Java MIDP 2, then it should be able to recognize the Java files... right?!
my newly bought Tattoo became unbootable a few days ago.It worked perfectly fine two days ago, then it started to randomly reboot itself, but after that, it became completely unbootable, as in, it was stuck at the "TATTOO" screen. The phone internals are completely untouched, no custom images, not rooted, no nothing, it's factory fresh.The battery is full too, and I didn't install anything that could possibly have corrupted the bootloader (or whatever is failing to load).I already tried to wipe the user data _TWICE_ (using HOME + BACK + POWER) with no success. I'm also perfectly able to get into HBOOT (using VOLDOWN + MENU + POWER), and connect via usb (using "FASTBOOT USB" from HBOOT). However, I can't completely wipe the cache with fastboot.exe from the android-sdk, since it doesn't allow it: "erasing 'cache'... FAILED (remote: not allow)".

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was playing around with my old LG Versa today. My son is using it for a camera. He's 7. I went to the bluetooth menu on the phone, put the device in discovery mode, and transferred a picture to the Versa from my Incredible. I thought shit, I wonder if I can transfer music this way. When I open up ES File Explorer, it has the option for bluetooth, but I cannot access the Versa from there. Does the Versa need a memory card to access from file explorer. It tells me invalid path or something.
Just found share option in stock music player. I use "3" instead for the album art, but the stock has bluetooth share. Now I gotta see if it works.

I want to be able to upload my large 100mb recorded hd video to youtube via carrier's 3g connection instead of wifi when I don't have wifi available. It pops up with a message saying you must be connected to wifi in order to upload large files. Anybody know how to enable this feature?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've checked the option on the phone for the FTP folder. I have made the phone discoverable, and then been able to see it on the Mac. I go through the whole thing on the Mac, enter the codes on the screen, etc. but it then gives me a warning on the Mac that my phone doesn't have any bluetooth profiles, and then simply says that the devices are paired, but not connected.I heard the Hero had all sorts of problems connecting with a Mac to transfer files, but one would think this new Evo would work, given the FTP folder option. Anybody have any ideas? Have you tried it on a Mac, and been able to get it to work?

Please could anyone suggest an approach for transferring a >2MB video from a ContentResolver into a Bytestream, without running out of memory?
See question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2599305/android-outofmemoryerror-w...
Here's the current code, which throws an OutOfMemoryError on the byteBuffer.write(buffer, 0, len) line when transferring large videos:
// get bytestream to upload videoByteArray = getBytesFromFile(cR, fileUriString);
public static byte[] getBytesFromFile(ContentResolver cR, String fileUriString) throws IOException { Uri tempuri = Uri.parse(fileUriString);
InputStream is = cR.openInputStream(tempuri);
byte[] b3 = readBytes(is); is.close(); return b3;
}
Newbie to Androids here, just upgraded from a nokia 2323 (yep, pretty big upgrade). When I connect my phone to the computer, I want to put files on the phone and be able to access them. I have Astro File Manager, but when I go all the way to the top level of folders with that, the folders available are.
app
bin
build
customize
etc
fonts
framework
lib
lost+found
media
usr
xbin
And when I open the "external drive" (phone) on the computer, all I can see is.
.bookmark_thumb1
.footprints
albumthumbs
backup
data
DCIM
download
LOST.DIR
media
miner_savegames (from gem miner)
minerdemo_savegames (from gem miner demo im guessing)
MP3
Photofunia (guessing its data for the Photofunia)
rosie_scroll
rssreader
User Manual
HTCSync_2.0.28 (application)
robo_defense_full.bak
How do I get the files into any of those folders?
