I know there is zoomControls which can be added to the view. But it looks like I have to take care of the zoomin/zoomout actions myself. Is there a simple class that will take care of the zooming and panning automatically?just like the map behavior but without the map.

Also, I use Windows Vista and the integration with Outlook 2007 was a pain. I am very intersted in WM devices and Android. What is going to be the best for me considereing the above? Do Android and WM sync with Outlook the same and better than the iPhone?

I constantly switch between the standard mutlitouch keyboard and the Korean keyboard 단글한글. Multitouch lets you hold down on one of the corner keys to bring up the input method selection, but any other keyboard seems to require going all the way back into my settings to change it, often forcing me to stop what I'm doing and jump out of the current application. Any recommendations? I've looked up things like Keyboard Widget, or Keyboard Manager, but haven't had any luck. On that note, if there's any devs out there that would want to create such a app...

This seems like a much needed app and apparently it exists just not for the Droid, because I used it with my Blackberry.I just want something easy and simple that I can make my grocery list either on my Eris itself or on my desktop and have it sync up. I hate having to enter everything directly on the phone and would like to see the same notes/tasks on my PC and this also enables me to print them as well. Outlook synced up with my Blackberry and it was just a simple effort to see all my notes right there on Outlook and also on my BB. It seems like everyone is looking for this, so why hasn't it been done? Why does Eris sync up with my Outlook calendar and contacts but not my notes and tasks? Google docs seems just like the name says - docs. I just want notes to be synced to my pc. I currently using Color Notes and Easy Notes to keep stuff on my phone but, again, want it to sync with PC.

If I press Phone, there's no option to choose a group.I can pless People, Groups, <group name>, <contact>, Call mobile. Not exactly quick and easy. I've been using the People widget. It can show 9 contacts, or 3 contacts, from a predefined group, and you can scroll for more. I've had two 3-contact instances on a screen, Favorites and Co-workers. That's all that will fit. But I don't have pictures on any of my contacts anymore. The link to Facebook was just too buggy, so I removed it. So the People widget takes up a lot of space for just 6 names, and I need to scroll it most of the time (actually I can only see 4 of the names when it's scrolled to the top). On one whole screen. I'd like a button that brings up all contacts from a predefined group and lets me click one to call him/her. Or a compact widget that lists just the names in a group and calls when I click. Is there anything like that?

I like the stock HTC calendar widget & app on my Desire, and just having the full calendar widget (with a little coloured triangle on any day with something on) seen here. But I have several different Google calendars (work, partner's work schedule, non-work events, holidays/birthdays, etc) so if I leave them all shown I look too busy every day.
I'd like a calendar widget that lets me toggle the displayed calendars on and off with, say, 2 taps instead of going all through the tree (menu, more, calendars, tickybox, back, back).
Failing that, I'd like another calendar widget that displays in the same month-grid style and can hold the setting to display only my work calendar (while leaving the other widget on the other home screen displaying all google calendars).
I've looked a bit but only see things that don't sync with Google, or only display a week-view, etc. Any ideas?
Ive created a small application, for people like me who dont like typing the same thing over and over. I use it for things like tethering and reboot. Its basically a small database in which you can save your scripts and run them easily from within Android ( either with normal shell or su ). Ive decided to make it open source ( project can be found on google code, a link is listed below ), so people don't have to be afraid something else is executed as root.
Here are some scripts that have been created so far. script that calls the bootdeb.sh - su /sdcard/debian/bootdeb. Make lite version for themes, basically deletes system ringtones, notifications and alarms so themes install properly on rc33 update

rm -r /system/media/audio/ringtones
rm -r /system/media/audio/notifications
reboot
Backup system sounds to sdcard -
cp -r /system/media/audio /sdcard/audio

So far every view I set up worked fine, but now I am trying to create a ListView (including single_choice_mode) within a child view of the ViewFlipper, but my attempt only let to a NullPointerException. As I only discovered ViewFlipper today, I am not yet familiar with it and may not have understood it completely. if someone could give me a hand and help me find out what I have done wrong, that would be great. I'm a little confused about how to adjust all of the various sound settings quickly and easily in this phone. If I turn the "Ringer Volume" to vibrate, it still makes sounds when I get an email? Seems like there should be a quick and easy way to disable or enable all sounds from the device. Is there anything like that?

View 17 Replies View RelatedPerhaps there is a thread already about this but I discovered today that if you long press on an app and then drag it down to the trash can and then hold it on the trash can for a few seconds a text pops up telling you to let go to uninstall.I have uninstaller, but this is a really handy quick way to uninstall a single app. Hope it helps.This applies only to Launcher Pro, apparently it does not work with stock as stated by the below posters. Sorry about the confusion.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've looked for other threads about editing Swype's dictionary but have found none, so will ask here: I love using Swype Lite (1.16.12.5228) but have found the dictionary and the little word options popup to be less than helpful. I've tried to add words individually per the instructions saying to add each letter carefully then press the space bar, but the new word doesn't seem to be available the next time. And when I do try to enter 1 letter at a time it automatically adds another letter and spaces to each of the letters I'm trying to tap in. I would love to know if I can access Swype's dictionary through the SD card or wherever, and go in there and edit the shit out of it. Anybody know how, or if it's possible?

I tried to use windows media player and I thought it was going to be really easy, but for some reason the pictures that I took today do not show up. I can see them on my phone, but I can't see them through windows media player. All my pictures prior to today do show up in windows media player.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanna start out by saying I love my droid but on thing that bugs the crap out of me is the finish on the top of the thing. It looks nice and polished for a few weeks but then it starts to chip like crazy. The screen is holding up perfectly its just the corners of the bezel. I think they should have gone wth a matte or aluminum finish or even the soft finish like on the battery cover.
