I apologize if this question has been asked but i was wondering if there is a way to switch browser windows very quickly? I know you can just hit menu then Windows, but thought tyere may be a way to pull left or right like on the iPhone.Or another quick trick.

How can I set my default launcher to LauncherPro or froyo, I want to be able to switch between the two and set one of them as the default but be able to change it back, the only app in market atm is homeswitcher but it does not support froyo atm, and from the looks of it, the developer says he cant do it cause of the new api's in froyo.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an easier way of switching my input method/keyboard rather than digging through the menus. (I'm using a Droid X, btw.) I constantly switch between the standard mutlitouch keyboard and the Korean keyboard 단글한글. Multitouch lets you hold down on one of the corner keys to bring up the input method selection, but any other keyboard seems to require going all the way back into my settings to change it, often forcing me to stop what I'm doing and jump out of the current application. Any recommendations? I've looked up things like Keyboard Widget, or Keyboard Manager, but haven't had any luck. On that note, if there's any devs out there that would want to create such a app...

I'm not comfortable enough with Android yet to Root my phone, but if that is the only way, then so be it. (Although I doubt it is, what with the lovely customisation options we have at our disposal).
I have only one or two sites I regularly visit that require the mobile version of the site to be rendered. It's too much of a pain to constantly go into settings and check and uncheck the mobile box. Is there a way to make this easier?

It seems fast and intuitive, and above all I love the way it zooms - formatting text to fit the window, and especially the way it seems to 'snap' to the edges of tables - great for reading news sites where the content is sandwiched in between loads of junk.
But I've never used a different browser on a smartphone, and I wondered how others compared. It's not perfect - swtiching between windows is cumbersome and there doesn't seem to be tabs - which means that sometimes pages can be doing stuff in the background and you'll never even know. And the menus and controls aren't ideal - it's all there but it's annoying having to hit menu then more before you can hit the 'home' key.
So are there any other browsers that have the speed, perfect layout, and intuitive feel of the default browser but better controls and other features? Would appreciate some recommendations of others to try

I'm looking to check how a few android versions of sites look without having to install the full SDK. Also would like to be able to use a mobile version of a site from a normal PC for other reasons (it shows different information which I require).

I want to be able to move word documents and the like from the sdcard to network shares, or vice versa, so that I don't need to carry a USB cable with me wherever I go.
Also I'd also like to know if there's an app that would install a server on the phone to enable other PC's on the network to connect to my phone via CIFS/SMBFS so I can browse/modify the files directly on it without having to copy it to the computer first.
Anyone else having this problem?I'm not talking about portrait vs landscape for the home screen.When I'm using the web browser on Droid, it seems stuck in landscape mode and try as I may to move the phone around, I cannot get it to switch to portrait mode when using the web browser.With some other apps, such as email, it seems to switch between landscape and portrait when I rotate the Droid.And with yet some others, like Calendar, it seems to switch sometimes and other times NOT respond.But the browser is the one I'm finding most annoying.why won't it switch from landscape to portrait?Anyone else experiencing this glitch? I've had my D1 since it's original launch. Love the phone and especially now that it's rooted. The problem is the slider is becoming loose. I'm going to get it replaced and am really considering the Dinc.I've found that I rarely use the slide out keyboard on the D1 because of the Swype keyboard love that thing.I'm looking for some insight on the Dinc and especially how it compares to the D1.How does Sense work? Does it slow down the phone? How has the update process gone so far? Anything else I need to know?

I rooted my Incredible yesterday after a couple months of contemplating it (I know ) And I think I want to try Virtuous ROM. So say I go to Virtuous, but end up wanting to go back to how I have it now (stock, root, froyo). Is that going to be hard? Is that what the nandroid backup is for? Say I go to Virtuous, then decide I wanna try Cyanogen. Do I just flash the new one after doing a Nandroid, then if I dont like Cyanogen I can just open the backup and bam it's back to Virtuous? Nub questions I know, but Im skerred. Last night I installed the rotary lockscreen from Virtuous on my stock rooted rom and I really like it. If I decide I dont like it, how hard is it to change something as small as an addon, rather than the whole ROM?

View 8 Replies View RelatedOn the 2nd of this month i switched to the Eris and I absolutely love ALMOST everything about it. The main problems I have are the lag and the no flash. The lag is a lot worse than i thought it would be. I didn't think I would mind no flash when I bought it but didn't realize how much I was going to miss not having it. From what i have read it seems like the incredible would fix both of these problems. I got the phone for only $29 because i signed up for a new two year contract. What are my opinions for switching to an incredible since i will still be in the first 30 days when the incredible is released. about how much extra will it cost me? Thanks for any tips or advice.

Any idea if there is a way to switch this? Like I am at work and just want to lower the volume I have to dig into the settings for ringer volume and wish I can just do it from the main screen by using the side buttons.
