HTC Droid Eris :: Mail Client Or Gmail Client
Nov 16, 2009Question about Gmail on the Eris Droid.
Has anyone noticed a difference in settings, functionality, or battery life by using the integrated Gmail client as compared to using the Other e-mail which uses an IMAP client??
You set this up at initial startup.

We have used BlazeDS extensively and we believe that it would nice to provide all the benefits provided by AMF for Android applications as well. We have developed an Android AMF client library which would enable Android application developers use the same extensively. The Android AMF client library supports remoting and secured remoting. This will allow all android applications to use the existing backend like .NET, Java, or PHP. The implementation is asynchronous in nature providing success and failure callbacks. This allows application to perform other tasks without blocking the application. We are currently performing some performance benchmarking and plan to release our library very soon. We would also be incorporating the messaging feature as well.

Media applications has a huge market and there would be quite a few people eager to develop the medial applications on Android. We believe that it would nice to provide all the benefits provided by RTMP for Android applications as well. Our Android RTMP client library would support some add-ons that would help developers to deliver robust media solutions.

Sep 26, 2010so I've been waiting for 4G in minnesota for a while now for my epic. They haven't announced it yet but. They've been. Tinkering with the towers lately and I've been seeing sme 4G coverage here are my mobile speed test results I was surprised considering I've been reading about people saying its more like 3 and a half G with speeds not much greater than 3G I realize however that right now there's almost 0 congestion and bandwith will slow considerably however the froyo update should even that out So what are your speeds?

Dec 14, 2009I have tried using handcent sms for quite sometime now without the cons out weighing pros. So far I have noticed that it tends to drain more battery, some messages are not recieved/sent, and recently today it deleted my entire library of text messages. I am not complaining abot the app at all. I just want to know if my issues are unique or if anyone else has witnessed these issues on their phone. Let me know if I am just an idiot, or if my phone is acting up, or you guys have also had these issues. I hate to get rid of handcent because I like how I can change the color of the notification LED but its not worth having if it means deleting all my text.

Jun 9, 2010on average what % battery is your android system using. mine usually uses from 20%-60%. On average its 40%, pretty much after normal use at any given time mine is at 40%. seem normal or a bit high? i have system panel and no app seems to be hogging or anything like that.edit: after some tweaks my android system is anywhere from 10%-40% tops.

Aug 28, 2010I'm soon to be getting my first android phone, htc desire on t-mobile UK (so from what ive heard it will be branded), i will be rooting it and ideally a custom rom. im happy with the rooting process (done quite a bit of modding with consoles), im just at a loss with custom roms for it at the minute, if anyone could suggest one that would suit my needs it would be awesome.
Im after a fairly similar to stock, idealy 2.2, but with some performance tweaks, im after:
-HTC sense
-a2sd
-the ability to overclock (and ideally auto underclock settings when in sleep mode)
- battery performance tweak
and also what is the difference in omoled vs slcd screens when it comes to custom roms and rooting, and also just generally in day to day use? are there any differences in quality, display etc?
and also whats the best os for rooting, roms etc? i mainly use a mac but also have xp, vista, 7 and linux. i understand theres no software currently for mac? and id rather stay away from 7 if at all possible (my copys not that stable) all help would be greatly appreciated, and i hope this is in the right forum

Jan 11, 2010I have a start activity page for my game (which is the root activity for my app) that just lists "Play", "Help", and "About" TextViews on the screen. Each TextView has a click listener which start the appropriate Activity for each. The GameActivity (started with explicit intent from clicking "Play") has onSaveInstanceState implemented to save state of the game. Its onCreate checks for non- null Bundle to restore this state. My problem is this:
1. Turn on Phone/Emulator 2. start my game with icon in launcher 3. Start page is displayed 4. click "Play" to start my GameActivity 5. play game for a few seconds 6. click home 7. state is saved (proven with debugger calling onSaveInstanceState) 8. start my game with the icon in launcher 9. start page is displayed
I was under the impression that by clicking the app icon from the launcher that my existing task activity stack would be restored with my GameActivity being on top and its onCreate being called for me to restore the state I saved. Instead I am getting a brand new instance of my start page. Also, if I long press home and choose my running game icon, then my game comes back exactly as I left it. However, this apparently is NOT using my onCreate restore state logic as onCreate is never called.
All of the documentation seems to say that the entire stack of activities will be restored when clicking the application icon from the launcher, but I just get a fresh instance. What might I be doing wrong?

Jun 7, 2010I got 2 EVOS Saturday. Mine flys super fast and no problems with apps. My wifes EVO isn't quite as fast as mine for some reason and apps crash a lot....she is at work now trying to use pandora and it plays for about 20 seconds and stops working. It has asked her if she wants to force close it twice already today.....Her coworkers have sprint and they are using pandora next to her with no problem so its not coverage.
