Is there an app that can set different alert tones when new messages come in? I need a different alert tone for different email senders?I need something to alert me with different tones when different people send me email.Currently it seems it is an all or nothing thing. Point me to an app or a how to doc would be cool.

So, I was just curious, is there a way to set custom text message alerts on the the Droid, or can you only use the default ones that came with it? I figured out how to do custom ringtones, but cant figure out custom text message alerts.

Only a text message or a view can be used at the same time."I've gotten it working beautifully with a message, but I want to use a custom view instead - a message with a cancel button. But calling setView() on the ProgressDialog seemingly has no effect - it shows the progress bar in the dialog but nothing else. I've tried it with just a TextView with the text "hello", but it doesn't show up.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my Incredible set up to synchronize with my work's exchange server. I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.

Switching over from a storm and with the storm i could set contact alerts for text messages and separate ringtones for when they call with the droid i have found there is only one text message alert and you cannot set individual alerts for text messages.

Also, is there a spell check on this thing? I saw a setting under 'qwerty' but it requires predictive text to be on, which is a no go for me.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen the phone is "sleeping" and a message comes through, I hear the notification. I don't see the flashing light (even though I have that turned on for everything) and the screen does not come on.
Is there a setting that I am missing?
I have set up the folders necessary on my SD card so that I can access the notification alert sounds that I would like to use. The problem I am having now is that I want to set one alert sound for contact a, a different alert sound for contact b, etc... I was able to set my ringtones this way but can't figure out how to set the notification alerts.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.

The phone will vibrate for calls... Rooted, running the latest Lithium Mod ROM with Chevy's ulv 1.2 kernel. How do we set a text message ringtone? When we text, all we get is a goofy little chime and the phones vibrate. I'll never hear that thing in my purse.I went to settings>notifications and set a soundbite I want to use after transferring it to the media>notifications folder, and when I get e-mails, it worked. But not for texting.
Also, what forum do I use for the double time? What is rooting, and do we need to do it? We got the phones through AT&T and they work fine so far. Also, we have wifi at home- does that still count against our 3g plan when we're using that to access the market while trying to figure this out?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a fascinate today and it's pretty solid, however I noticed that when I try to set a custom picture for the background, it won't let me select the whole picture and it zooms in ridiculously too much. Now, I've tried almost everything, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me?Oh, if you have the fascinate, download handscent for messaging. I had a blackberry before the fascinate and it's similar to the crunch sms for blackberry. It's convenient because it allows you to customize the length of the vibrations and led lights, but the fascinate doesn't seem to have led light capability. It also allows you to customize the bubbles a well as the colors per contact and all that. Definitely something to look into.
