I'm looking at getting a Hero on Sprints Service. I was wondering if their is an app out there that lets you enter stocks symbols and then will give you an audio alert when they fall or increase a certain percentage (hopefully customizable as well). Anything like that out there?

In two days it'll be two months since the evo has been released and people are still having a hard time finding the phone due to supply issues? I'm starting to believe that there was a recall or a halt put on the evo due to manufacturer defects. Two months is ample time to get this phone pushed out into the market.
View 49 Replies View RelatedLast night I rooted 2.2 with UnrEVOked 3.21, and I'm pleased that I have Titanium Backup and Wifi Tether. The only other two things I wanted to have were uncapped FPS, and some better battery life. In another thread, I read that you may use a different kernel without using a different ROM. I downloaded KiNgxKernel's BFS #9 and installed, and while I got the frame rate I was looking for, the operating system went in to super laggy mode. It was unusable, so I booted in to recovery and restored the stock kernel from my nandroid backup.
Does anyone have any recommendation on a kernel I can use with the stock ROM?
Also, one other question, I constantly see people advise that cache clearing is vital when changing kernels. I am only aware of Dalvik cache, and the menu option in recovery to clear that cache. I also read many posts that say clearing it is unreliable and only possible with a full wipe. Can someone clarify please?

View 7 Replies View RelatedSince JC6 is a leaked fw I don't think Google will whitelist it so all apps will be available in the market. I know that Galaxo 1.6.2 enables a full market but somehow I can't seem to do so in 'stock' JC6. I'm running stock JC6 with IH8 baseband.
I searched the threads on this matter and only thing that comes close is this post from Kam. Somehow I can't change the fingerprint without adb remount. Is busybox required to adb remount?
Anyway is there any way to enable full market in stock JC6 with IH8 baseband without having to install Galaxo?
How to make apps from market visible on the stock rom?
E.g: I flash-ed Cyanogenmod 7 nightly and it was show me a lot of apps which was no was in stock rom ( dead space apperance in cyanogenmod but in stock rom no)

I use Handcent, and lately I have been finding it to be quite laggy and slow, even with cache cleared and all threads deleted. Is the only difference between stock and aftermarket, the fact that you can customize? I would much rather have a plain looking stock app that performs well, then a customizable aftermarket app that is slow. I am just looking for some opinions.

I am trying to get an alert when I get to my home. But, it looks like I am not receiving the message. Googled around quite a bit, but to no avail. I am able to get the LocationListener to display my current location. But, proximityAlerts are not working. The problem might be with the setting up and receiving the broadcast messages.

I am coming from BB Storm 2 where i could have every email, sms, mms, whatever from any contact display a different LED light/pattern and make a different noise depending on who it is coming from. Here on my Droid X i have one alert noise, for EVERYTHING. And no LED tweaking.
I DL'd Blink...which was useless, didn't display 3/4 of the colors it was supposed to do. Uninstalled. I had heard HandcentSMS lets you customize stuff...kinda. I could finally make my SMS make a differnt noise then any other alert. But still can't customize it per person/sender. I could tweak the LED thankfully. But this only affects SMS. Not email. And it too didn't display all the colors it had listed
Ringdroid lets me make every caller have a differnt ringtone (cool), and i can save alerts, but not custom per person. Are there any apps out there that let me customize alerts for email/mms/sms and so forth. So i can have it blink the LED a differnt color from certain people and make a noise when said email, mms, sms is from certain people? Or am i just SOL and need to deal with the fact that i can't do that on a Droid?
In so many ways this phone is lightyears ahead of my Storm 2...but in so many other ways it is far more basic and simplistic in many things and doesn't allow the customization.
I have stopped receiving email and message alerts. No sound, no vibrate, no icon on the status bar at the top of the phone, no blinking green light when the screen is off. It is as if the phone does not know I have email or messages.

I manage to create the alert but it never gets fired, I'm only trying in the emulator for now and donīt know if I need some extra code to trigger the alerts. I've read somewhere that the GPS provider to disabled so the network provider can be used in order to trigger the alerts on the emulator.

Is there an app out there that turns alerts or notifications off by time of day and even by day of week? I like to leave my phone on in case of an emergency call but I would like to silence the email and text alerts overnight.
Idealy it would allow each account to be controlled seperately. Example would be to turn off work accounts early evening and leave personal and text on until later.
