Is it possible to receive MMS programmatically in Android. couldn't find a way to achieve this this. i have successfully on receiving sms messages in android.code...
I am sending the sms by using the below code, SmsManager smsManager = SmsManager.getDefault(); smsManager.sendTextMessage(destAddr, null, mMessageText, il, null);
But, the same SMS message needs to be reflected in the Native sms inbox, Can anyone help me out in achieving this.
I'm trying to programmatically reboot the phone by pressing a button.
Currently I'm doing something like this:

Where _rebootButton is an instance of Button (of course @_@).
However it does not do the job.
I have searched alot on this but could not find anything on google or stack overflow.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs we know that Android phone gets locked after screen timeout. But I want to lock the phone on demand as well. i.e. without waiting for screen timeout to occur.. As in nexus android phone there is hard button on top for making screen turn off and lock the phone. i have to do same functionality but by using soft key i.e. in a programmatic way. What are the APIs or routines that can help me ? Can someone point me for getting this functionality?

On Google play, there are numbers of screen shot apps saying "no need to root the phone". But actually, most of them do need to root the phone even they said no need.I can only do it by rooting the phone and pushing my app as system app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically, I receive quite a few text messages off companies who send them using a PC, and so they appear as from the company name, rather than as a phone number. For example, texts from T-Mobile appear as from "T-Mobile". However, for some reason every text I get off a company starts a new thread, rather than all being in the same thread.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a weird one! I'm with O2, so can't ask them for help as the Hero is not on their support list.
Everytime I'm in Germany and my friend tries to text me (using a Sony-Ericsson phone) vis the 3 network, she gets an error message saying that the text has failed. As a result, I can't receive any texts from her when abroad. This problem has only started since I started using the Hero.
Anybody else experienced this when roaming and being sent an sms from the 3 network?
I'm really not sure of the specs of DAB or the Desire... but is it possible to receive DAB on the Desire?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
I used my phone with no problem yesterday (made and received calls), then went to sleep and charged my phone overnight. When I woke up this morning, I tried to make a call and just got "this number is not in use", thought it was something to do with that persons number. Tried to call some other numbers and always got the same thing. I asked my brother to call me and it just went straight to voicemail. Then, when I opened "Phone" I noticed that there was something wrong with my last few calls made. Phone numbers here in Iceland are 7 letters, for example 1234567.. but all the recent calls I made looked like 6171234567, that 617 always got added before the number I tried to call and that made it fail. I only see 1234567 when trying to make the call, when I look at the phone while listening to "This number is not in use", I never see that 617 until I've hung up and check the call log. I did try to call +3541234567 though (354 being the Icelandic country code) and that went through fine. But if I don't use it, the 617 gets added. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I thought it might be some setting so automatically add a country/area code before a number or something like that, but didn't find anything in settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife's phone can't get calls - it can get texts and data fine. At first, calls would go straight to voicemail, and now there is a message stating "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect". Nobody who has tried calling is marked "straight to voicemail", and I had a friend who is not on her contact list call her and he go the same thing. I rooted and removed some bloatware over a week ago, and had no problems. She had adialer installed, and removing that did nothing. I can make calls from her phone, although earlier she said she tried calling me (I was holding the phone because I just texted her to do it) and she said I went straight to voicemail. Sitting here, I called my phone and several other numbers with her phone with no problems.

I went to 2.1 and then found out that it was still rooted so my brother and I unrooted again down to stock 2.0.1. Now my phone will not receive the OTA so I can upgrade to stock 2.1. Does anyone know why it won't receive the update?
