View 1 RepliesThis is my first Android app (which is a soft keyboard, with dvorak layout) and so far it has gone pretty smoothly (either because or despite working from the sample code). I've had some problems (with special/swedish characters) that I've managed to take care of, but this problem I can't figure out how to solve..
But when I click the list item to edit it, i get an empty dialog (Title and button is shown right and with the text I set in the xml- file, but no list, screenshot: http://i49.tinypic.com/2501p55.png ). I can't see any problem with the program code (which isn't many lines..) or the xml (the arrays are generated by the Android utils in Eclipse and the preferences is a mix of auto and manual). You can see both Java code and XML here: http://pastebin.com/m4c52c3a2 (titles etc in Swedish..) (I've also tried a EditTextPreference item, which seemed to work fine..) I have also looked at the log/output using adb, and can't see any problems there either, so I have no idea onto how to solve this.
It occur some problems to develop U/I. there is a PreferenceActivity that was aleady developped and is typecally like 'Settings' of android. by the way, the customer is requiring to change U/I like IPhone.Requirements are
1.application title-bar using ImageView(or TextView) positions to top
2. remove ContextMenu, alternativly static menu buttons positon to bottom.
3. PreferenceActivity is able to scroll and title-bar & menu buttons are fixed each positions.
just all. but It's very difficult to add & fix two views in Preference Activity.

I need to hide all keys except numbers, point and dash and change the dash behavior.
Unfortunately attribute android:inputType="number|numberSigned| numberDecimal" doesn't hide @, #, $ etc. keys.
How can I customize the soft keyboard view? I actually need to show and react to my custom view. What is is the fast and right way to implement it?
Please advise some example or code snippets helps to move forward.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got an app that I don't want to auto-rotate. Currently, I've got it setup so that it is always in portrait mode. However, I'd like to add a setting to my preferences where the user can choose either portrait or landscape mode. Is there a way to force screen rotation? Or, could I perhaps make two different layout XML files, one for portrait and one for landscape, and programmatically choose which to use?

Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

I'm building a custom Home app. I want to change the lock screen to match my theme. For example changing the wallpaper. What I see in the lock screen now is the default wallpaper. I've tried searching this forum but can't find the solution. Yet I found some apps on the market that can do this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust bought my droid and LOVIN' IT...but I'm looking to tweak it a little more. So far, I'm really digging' the home screens that a lot of you guys have posted on this site, and I'm trying to emulate them but it's a little difficult for me to do. I'd really appreciate it if you guys can lead me to the right direction on which apps and customizations I need to employ to get those similar settings. I'm mainly looking to do 2 things:
1.) get my home screen to have the time, date, and weather widget, while putting my favorite icons around it for this I downloaded Home++ and weather forecast widgets v2. However, I really don't like how the default time and date and bottom icons look that comes with the Home++. A lot of you guys have the screen that looks like the HTC Sense UI. It's awesome! How can I get my droid to look like this???
2.) I'm currently employing the 3 screen setting (which I like). I would like to put a full size calendar on the left screen so that I can flick it over whenever I need to take a look. Is this possible? And is there an app/widget that can do this?
How can the home screen be customized? and also how can the springboard layout be customized?

View 21 Replies View Relatedsorry if this has already been answered, Ive already tried looking but cant find anything on it. is there any app to customize what you want the lock screen to say? i recently had my phone stolen and luckily got it back, but there was no way the person would've automatically known who's phone it was. i know on many phones like my old palm centro i was able to write my own greeting and put who the phone belonged to, who to call if it was lost, where i live, etc. does anyone know how or what app there is that lets you fix this in case the phone is lost again. it would make it a lot easier for whoever found the phone to know who's phone it was so they could return it.

For example, I have a Galaxy Note 2 running Jellybam and every time I turn the power off and plug it to a charger it friezes at the charging screen where there's a turning circle. Therefore, I just want to find away to get rid of the old charging screen and add a new one to try to fix the problem. Where the charging screen files locate in the root and where can I find the custom one to replace it. I've tries Nomoarpower from Chainfire but it seems doesn't work even the system files are installed as after the power is off it always brings me back to the frozen charging screen instead of the new one.
