View 8 RepliesI'm looking for an app. that will allow me to record calls(my voice only) or take voice notes during a call. I've tried a few but it seems neither of them works on android 2.2.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm going to a meeting shortly and need an app that would allow me to quickly speech to text notes for multiple discussions. It would be something akin to opening a word doc for each discussion and typing it down. Is there anything like that for the Incredible/Android? Does Documents to Go support speech to text on Incredible?
View 4 Replies View RelatedYou get the number from Google voice and obviously you can make calls. Why can't you just cancel your voice and text plan and just keep your data package and use it like that? Will T-Mobile allow that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to develop an app around the voice recognition functionality of Cupcake.
As a sample code, I used the VoiceRecognition.java project available under API Demos. (http:// developer.android.com/guide/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/ apis/app/VoiceRecognition.html)
I want to know if I can extract the text result on the list view and use it as a String further on? The part of code I am refering to is below where mList is defined as ListView:
CODE:.................
I want to use the result to be able to take further action.
Im running 2.1 and i thought there was supposed to be a button when sending an sms message to speak the text?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a hard time finding an app that functions as a Voice Recorder, but it also attempts to convert your recording into text. This would be very help imfho.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy dad was planning on getting an Android phone soon. I told him that he could go ahead and cancel our texting plan because he'd be able to text from Google Voice. But he was asking what about the people who already text him at his regular number. So I was wondering can you get Google Voice to redirect texts to your regular number to your Google Voice number so it would be free. Is that possible? Or would he have to give out his Google Voice number to everyone?

View 6 Replies View Relatedit possible to use the text-to-speech engine to send a message through a voice call? Like an answering machine. It's also possible to monitor an outgoing voice call to read out loud a text when the other point answers the phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm looking to get a Droid X or 2 but I have recently been hitting over 500 texts per month.
I just read about the new Google Voice and how it is able to send and receive text messages. I dont seem to understand how it works can someone explain this to me?
As far as I know, when you install GV you signup and then get a #, from there I give that # to everyone to text me (not my cell phone #) and GV just stays on in the back ground all the time waiting for texts?
And, does this use the data connection to do all of this or use the phone miniutes?
I'm wondering if there are any voice recorders out there that allow you to share recordings via text msg? Anyone know?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do I disable the Text transcript feature on Google voice? It's always wrong..such a horribly done feature. Annoying to see all these incorrect text transcripts after each voice mail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need a decent voice dictation recording application that will run on my Droid-X. About the only thing I've found is a horrible app called Dictosyl by a French company caled Sylpheo. What I really want is an Android version of Dictamus for the iPhone/iPod Touch by Jotomi.
Dictamus has all of the features that make it perfect for lawyers, physicians and other executives who need to be able to dictate for someone else to transcribe. Dictamus has the ability easily pause, rewind and insert (destructive and non-destructive insertion). The resulting sound file can be sent via email, uploaded to a Dropbox.com account to an iDisk account, to an ftp server or to any of online transcription services (eg. SpeakWrite) It can send automatic email notifications to someone after an upload has been made. It can record continuously for more than 24 hours.
On a 5 star scale, I'd give Dictamus 6 stars. But it's not available for Android. And what I can find (using search terms "dictate," "dictation" and "recorder") for Android I wouldn't even give one star. Although I use SpeakWrite's transcription service occasionally, their mobile apps (for iPhone, for Android, for Blackberry) are just terrible -- and they make it very difficult to send the recording to anyone but their own service. I prefer to have my secretary transcribe most of my work. Although I like SpeakWrite's service, I only use them when my secretary is not available.
I've been using Google Voice on my Env Touch for about a year now but only mainly for the sms transcriptions as the Env Touch doesn't have an app for it.
So, here's my main problem. All of my contacts are just in my phone. I don't have anyone's email address as all I do mainly is txt people or send them a message on facebook. I'm wanting to add all of my contacts to my gmail account so when I get my Incredible everything will be there. Right now my sms from GV just has the number and I actually don't know any of my friends numbers, they're just in my phone. *yes, technology can be a sort of burden at times* So I don't have a clue who the voicemail is from until I call into it. Is there any easy way of porting all these contacts from either my phone, backup assistant, or facebook? Also, do android phones take your contacts and your facebook and merge them into your gmail account?
I'm really keen to get this working. I've tried installing from several locations. I follow all the steps correctly ( i think!), but every time i tap the text box with the htc mod enabled i get this error message.
'The application HTC_IMA mod
(process jonasl.ime) has
stopped unexpectedly. Please
try again'
Has anybody used Voice Text in the UK? I'm only asking because one of the comments in the Market says it's not available. If yes is it any good? Does it work well?

View 8 Replies View RelatedNo root required, works fantastic.
-Download and install hi-res version.
-Goto keyboard settings and enable HTC_IME.
-Long press on any text entry, select imput method and then select HTC_IME as default.
I was wondering how i could enable "Speech to text" on my desire.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was about to come on here and praise how cool the new Voice to Text feature is in the new 2.1 update but I have found it to be a pain in the neck. I was driving the other day and decided to use it. I spoke very slowly and enunciated the words clearly and that thing wrote something entirely different. No offense but I sounded like a slow person the way I was talking and it still typed the wrong thing!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI thought this was supposed to be a huge feature in 2.1, am I missing the option to activate it? Was hoping to dictate texts and email, but I don't see the mic symbol on my input keyboard, and a cursory search of google nets results that point toward menu options that don't exist on my hero...
