Jun 7, 2010Voice playback is basically shot. It plays back completely broken up and muffled with mostly static and crackling. It's to the point that it has to be broken, it's so bad, you can't even make a single word out. I have tried every which way of speaking into it and it is not a poor quality issue, I believe it is just not functioning properly. Phone calls and music playback are excellent and voice recognition is fine but voice playback is broken. I am wondering if it's the SD card since that is where it saves.

Jul 29, 2010I've searched high and low, but I can't seem to find a voice recorder app with BOTH these features.
1) The app must have a home screen widget that allows me to start and stop recording without launching the app itself.
2) The app should let me dictate into a long single dictation every time I click record, rather than creating a separate voice file each time. The closest app I've found is voice recorder, but it insists on making each recording a separate file, rather than just appending a new recording to the end of the old one. Anyone know of a good app that can do these things?

If I am missing it, please let me know and I apologize.I am trying to get some files I recorded on my Eris using the stock Voice Recorder app that came with the phone. When I look at the list of Voice Recorder files on the phone, at the top of the list, it says a file path:/sdcard/.voicerecorder/voices However, when I plug in the phone and mount the SD Card on my macbook running OSX 10.5, that path does not appear. Can anyone help please? I'd really like to get these files off the card.

We've worked hard to make sure that it is a reliable product and that it contains a solid set of features for version one (v.1). We are currently working on the designs for our our Website, facebook, and Twitter pages since posting our application. We look forward to adding features as we move forward.

Also, if you don't see a feature you like please email that to us so we can add it to our Feature Request database. It may not be the next week we add it (we take testing seriously, which takes time). But we definitely will review such requests, which we understand are valuable.
Also, we were able to test this on a few Android Smartphones, but we are looking forward to seeing if there are any issues on phones we have not tested on. So, if you run into an issue please include, at the least, the Android Smartphone manufacturer, product name, Android OS version number (e.g. Android 2.2).

Unfortunately thats something that very important because she records her nursing lectures. Am I missing it, or is there not one there. Going through the Market I saw that some of the audio recorders are buggy, especially with the Droid. Can anyone recommend a stable, decent audio recorder that I can use? Also, before anyone asks, I am from a state where only one party needs to consent to recording, so there are no legal issues here. To be honest, I plan on asking everyone there if they mind if I record it anyway. Should any of them say no, I still won't have any problems recording it.

May 12, 2010My dad was planning on getting an Android phone soon. I told him that he could go ahead and cancel our texting plan because he'd be able to text from Google Voice. But he was asking what about the people who already text him at his regular number. As far as I know, when you install GV you signup and then get a #, from there I give that # to everyone to text me (not my cell phone #) and GV just stays on in the back ground all the time waiting for texts?
And, does this use the data connection to do all of this or use the phone miniutes?

Jul 20, 2010I need a decent voice dictation recording application that will run on my Droid-X. About the only thing I've found is a horrible app called Dictosyl by a French company caled Sylpheo. What I really want is an Android version of Dictamus for the iPhone/iPod Touch by Jotomi.
Dictamus has all of the features that make it perfect for lawyers, physicians and other executives who need to be able to dictate for someone else to transcribe. Dictamus has the ability easily pause, rewind and insert (destructive and non-destructive insertion). The resulting sound file can be sent via email, uploaded to a Dropbox.com account to an iDisk account, to an ftp server or to any of online transcription services (eg. SpeakWrite) It can send automatic email notifications to someone after an upload has been made. It can record continuously for more than 24 hours.
On a 5 star scale, I'd give Dictamus 6 stars. But it's not available for Android. And what I can find (using search terms "dictate," "dictation" and "recorder") for Android I wouldn't even give one star. Although I use SpeakWrite's transcription service occasionally, their mobile apps (for iPhone, for Android, for Blackberry) are just terrible -- and they make it very difficult to send the recording to anyone but their own service. I prefer to have my secretary transcribe most of my work. Although I like SpeakWrite's service, I only use them when my secretary is not available.
Android :: Google Voice - Text People Or Send Them A Message On Facebook
Apr 25, 2010I've been using Google Voice on my Env Touch for about a year now but only mainly for the sms transcriptions as the Env Touch doesn't have an app for it.
So, here's my main problem. All of my contacts are just in my phone. I don't have anyone's email address as all I do mainly is txt people or send them a message on facebook. I'm wanting to add all of my contacts to my gmail account so when I get my Incredible everything will be there. Right now my sms from GV just has the number and I actually don't know any of my friends numbers, they're just in my phone. *yes, technology can be a sort of burden at times* So I don't have a clue who the voicemail is from until I call into it. Is there any easy way of porting all these contacts from either my phone, backup assistant, or facebook? Also, do android phones take your contacts and your facebook and merge them into your gmail account?
