I am now an EVO user on the sprint network. Coming from a blackberry and an avid BBDesktop manager user, I find myself unable to migrate my contacts from my BB to my new EVO. Any suggestions?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI moved from my Nexus 4 to a new Nexus 5. I want to export the data from the stock messaging app on the Nexus 4 into Hangouts on the 5. It looks like Hangouts won't convert them if they're not already in a messaging app on the same phone. I've tried installing Go SMS on the 5 but it won't see the messages either. I'm trying to move them using My Backup Pro.

After waiting months and prepping by joining android forums and downloading various applications I found that the small bit lethal disagreements of not being able to properly sync iCal/contacts, wifi not connecting to networks in the same room and the biggest issue of them all, 1 phone bar in your house and outside of your house, making the use of such a wonderful device like buying a car without wheels�what�s the sense (pun intended). I just don�t get how after such advancements in technology how such well thought out devices like Mac�s OS and a open source OS like Android can�t get along. Millions are invested in R&D in these OS and devices. And things like contacts and calendar should be simple enough to play with any OS. Still I looked past those issues until I ran into the wifi issues at home. I am a techie at heart and a finance database programmer by day. So, when I say that my wifi setup at home should be able to connect to any b/g/n capable chip, I am not doing any guessing here. My EVO just would not get more than one bar, and I updated the firmware on my wireless network even when all of the other devices work perfectly well with my setup.

Best bet at the moment is it will be a HTC Android phone. But, who knows what will be out then, it's at least 7 months away.
Anywho, I want to go into Gmail, compose a new email, and be able to select contacts (or even have the app provide a look-ahead list based on what I type). This is exactly how the Gmail app for my Blackberry 8830 worked so I don't understand why there seems to be less functionality no an Android phone. In any case, it seems that no matter what, all I can do is manually type in email addresses. Also, I know I can go into Contacts (People) and select a person's email. This brings up a menu option to email using Gmail or my Exchange email account. This in't good enough because all I can do is open a new email to one person this way. What if I want to email 10 people!?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI followed all of the instructions and backed up my contacts using the downloaded most recent update service. Now i have updated my phone to android 2.1 and i try to recover my contacts. in the update screen it went to 97% and then an error. But realistically it has only imported say 30% of my contacts, and the contacts it has recovered it has duplicated so there are 2 entries for every piece of information. Can someone from SE please inform me whether they are working on a fix that we can download that will rectify this issue or do i need to manually source all of my contact information all over again. If so is there any way of loading the backup information on the computer?

I was using the hero before and you could easily do it via vcard.For example, I want to send Mr Jones a contact number of a client, I can easily SMS him through contacts the client's contact numbers(emails and whatnots).However, this feature seems lacking on the Milestone. You can attach just about everything else except a person's contacts!Did I overlook something here? Or it just doesn't come with it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend got herself a new HTC Aria a few days ago and the thing won't let her link her contacts to their Facebook profiles. All the contacts are stored on her phone, not the SIM has 2.1 stock. You type in the person's name after tapping the 'link profile' button or whatever it says, and no profiles show up in the search box. I noticed that a similar post in the HTC Hero forum, but no one seemed to have any luck over there. And yes, I've gone into the settings and enabled everything that I know to enable regarding syncing, facebooking, and anything else along on those lines.

It looks like the folders are there, but they are actually empty. The calendar issue is not really a problem now that i am using Google Calendar Sync, but i would like ALL my exchange email to be on my phone.

Then when I click on add account and choose facebook, it just goes back and won't add it. I am really frustrated. I got it to work before but then I had problems with my facebook and now I can't get it to work again. HELP please!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have no clue what's going on here but TB won't restore my contacts.I had 2.1 and installed the older 2.2 leak from over a month ago and was able to restore contacts then via TB (although I don't exactly remember how).I wanted the new 2.2 and downgraded the radio and returned to stock, did unrevoked forever and put 2.2 on my phone.I restored all my apps but the contacts are gone.They aren't stored on VZW or Google either.Am I missing something?I went through the system stuff in TB and clicked on everything that was green and restore app and data several times and then I restored just data a few times too and still nothing.I know my contacts are saved in here somewhere.

It seems to look and feel exactly like 2.1, which wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting the lockscreen to be different (the horizontal one). Is that a feature of Sense? Do I HAVE to get rid of Sense to install that?
Also: Now I am unable to add custom fields to even my Google contacts (earlier I couldn't do it for phone contacts, but it was possible for Google contacts). Is that a problem with this ROM? What ROM should I install to have this feature?
I received my HTC last week and I am very pleased with the phone. However I am experiencing one issue with my carkit, the parrot ck3200 LS Color.
It doesn't seem to sync my contacts. Everytime after a couple of contacts it says "Synchronization failed". At first I thought it was because I have some pictures associated with my contacts, so I deleted every picture from every contact, but no luck. The sync still fails at contacts that are in my Facebook friend list. I tried to find some settings where I can turn off the picture sych, but couldn't find it. Then I realized I don't even want the facebook friends to be synced with the phone, but I couldn't find any setting in the carkit or phone to turn that of.
Does anybody have an idea in solving the issue so that my carkit and phone will sync whitout issues?
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S, with a program called DejaOffice. It syncs with a PC remotely just fine. Then it syncs with the native Android database. Recently it has started "joining" two similar contacts (Mother and Daughter, same home address, different cells numbers, different first names). The Android does this by itself. A contact disappears from the Android contacts database, and I go check one of the two contacts and find that the other has been joined to it. When I edit the remaining contact there are two Phone tabs, each with the correct information in it. I understand that if I then push the menu on the phone, there should be an option to Unjoin. But nothing happens when I press that menu button. If I simply select the contact (edit is then one of the menu choices), there is a Join menu selection (which works), but not an unjoin option.

When I tried to update a contact or add an entirely new one I was recieving an error that stated " Unfortunately Contacts has stopped working". I then tried to install a new contact via Google on my pc. Saved there no problem but would not sync the contact to the cell. I was able to search this and found the fix on the internet. I have Enhanced Mobile Care thru AT&T and they were unable to assist me in this issue but are aware of it after the software upgrade to 4.3.

The contact photos i have are already linked to my contacts on my GMail account, and sync across, but want to edit with higher quality images.
I am unable to synchronize the contacts with my phone. Whatever I add in the phone, it is synchronized with Gmail and I could see the new contact in the Gmail contacts. However, whatever additions I do in the Gmail, such as adding new contacts etc, are not reflecting in my phone.

1) why can't I link my contacts with facebook? I'm not talking about syncing them I'm talking about linking them so that their profile pics come up on under "people" on my phone, every other ROM I've used does this just fine but Zen does not for some reason.
2) Do I need an app from the market to see how fast my processor is running? I've seen where some people have run into troubles of having their processor redlined all the time

I activate timescape and it took all my facebook contacts and put it in the address book of my phone, and now i can not see my Sim contacts. how can I undo this, I already turn off facebook in timescape, maybe i should delete it for now as i don't use it, i like to keep my phone contact separate from facebook and access facebook only when i need it. and now i can't configure personal ring for the people i have in my phone book, because it took all the facebook information and its with timescape and doesn't have an option to set a ring for the contact in edit part i just can add it to favorites o delete contact. and i still can not see my Sim contacts they are somewhere because when i tap a name in search bar it shows me the contact and phone, but I'd like to see what i have. i already export my contact from Sim to phone but they still don't show.
