Since this last update I have a problem. I have my ECO set to not sync gmail contacts. But when I click Messages then New Message the the head icon it lists all my gmail contacts. Any ideas?

why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. Is there a way to get this contacts to all link to there gmail, if they have a gmail account?

Icon by phone numbers saved on phone is a cell phone, rather than the letter "G" which typically represents contacts pulled from Gmail online. I've had this issue - I believe - with my previous Samsung. Although I've seen this question brought up before, the answers are typically not device specific or have not been useful and clear to follow.

I want to link all of my facebook contacts so they show up in my gmail contacts? Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. But alas, I cannot, as all of these Facebook contacts don't show up on the gmail list at all.

When my girlfriend got her Eris about 4-5 months ago Verizon was kind enough to copy her contacts from her Razor phone to her new Eris. However she now needs to return the phone for service (silent call bug) and she went to G mail to ensure all her contacts was backed up... they are not. It seems the contacts are stored on her phone (Eris) and not in g mail. How can we import all of her contacts from the phone memory into G mail?

I have a Droid 3. My Accounts include my main Gmail acct, a gmail acct I hardly ever use (no contacts issues there), a pop3 account and a Touchdown-Exchange account which I dont need because Im not connected to that Exchange server any longer. Some time ago, since I wasnt on the Exchange server any more, I deleted the Touchdown account. Then I realized some or most of my Google contacts had disappeared from the phone. Thinking that this would delete the same contacts from the Gmail servers when it synced, I immediately restored the Touchdown account, restoring the lost contacts to the phone. Are these 2 issues related?
I am using 2.3.5 android and my contacts are in google contacts. I have also added my facebook account and some contacts are synced between both accounts.I use titanium backup pro for my backups but I cannot restore the linked synced (after some reboots, the stop being synced)
Is there anyway to make and restore a backup if the sync contacts information) using titanium backup pro or other app?
i've been looking for an application for merging the SIM contacts with the GMail contacts but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know if such an application is available? The result now is that i have a huge list of contacts (GMail + SIM) with many duplicates and information spread around different entries. However the phone now says it is unable to establish a working data connection. This is definitely not the case. Gmail for Android updated, becomes Market app - Engadget. seems nice but it shows up in market and downloads ok just will not install. it says it was unsuccessful. just in case it is relevant i have tazz 7 on my eris. it says only for 2.2 so is that why maybe? even though technically i am running froyo.

In call history, I clicked the little file picture and added their name, saved it as a google contact, and saved it. If I go to People, the name doesnt appear. So I went to the People app, entered their info, made it a google contact, saved. Still didnt work. Even manually synced my google account. So then I changed the "view" to show every option and slowly ticked off each box til I realized that only if "show auto gmail contacts" is ON does my new contact appear. It was also "linked" to 3 other contacts (the same one that I kept adding over and over wondering why it wasnt appearing). So, of course I do NOT want everyone I've ever e-mailed in my contact list, so the question is, how can I add/save any contacts and make them appear in People?

Run a few tests and basically, my gmail app shows unread emails in the counter, but hasn't updated the actual email list for at least a day Thinking about it, it may not have worked since I updated the firmware on Sunday.Any ideas anyone? Be a bit of a pisser if my first official upgrade broke it... Wouldn't exactly surprise though

I check my gmail app and the new mail is there but it says Inbox(0), NOT Inbox(1) like it should be even though the new message is bolded in font like it should. Then when I delete the message it says Inbox(-1) This might be the reason I don't get a notification sometimes. Has anyone else encountered this?

I can see the folders that I've created a long time ago but nothing is in them. I read a couple of threads saying that I should enable labels but I'm not sure how to do that on the Incredible. Each time I try to to sign in via add account it says "cant establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your android device may not be provisioned for data services" meanwhile I have data service and my network is pretty fast.

If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.
