View 4 RepliesI'm having an issue with my tablet, an Onda VI40 Ultimate. It was left off for a day or two, and when I plugged it in yesterday I got the battery screen, but it was in orange and showing that it needed to be charged. I figured I'd leave it alone for a few hours, then come back to it.
I left it plugged in for four hours, but when I came back to it the tablet is just giving the same message. I took out the charger, plugged it in again and got the same screen. I plugged it into my desktop pc via usb cable, and it just gives the same screen over and over. I got another charger, one exactly like it, and plugged it in. Same screen again. I pressed the reset button, same screen. I tried holding down the power button and volume up button, but no deal. I have the latest CM9 build installed on it, with ICS 4.0.4.
I have included below a terribly blurry photograph of what I'm seeing when I try to turn it on, or do anything with it. The tablet just never seems to charge no matter what I do, nor will it boot in any way.
My China tablet will not turn on. The screen lights up but nothing else happens. There is no reset button, pressing volume and on button together does nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI see another thread on Locale, but it seems to be focused on it technical shortcomings. I thought a thread about how people are using this app would be helpful.
Now... I use Locale for the following:
- Turning the ringer down when I get to work (obviouse one)
- Turning GPS/Bluetooth/wifi on when I plug it in the phone (think car dock)
- Turn on Wifi when I get near my known hot spots.
- Turn off GPS/Bluetooth/wifi off and turn down brightness when my battery is low.
And the last one is a good one for me...
- I have a GV number. When I call my phone from that number, it turns the ringer volume all the way up and it turns on wifi and GPS. This is my "lost phone aid". It turns on the locating features so I can see where the phone is using iGoogle and Latitude, and I can hear the phone if it is "in the cushions" on vibrate.
Anyone else get creative with Locale?
I am developing on 2.1 and location updates will not resume after removing them and adding them again. Is this an issue with the system?

As we know that Android phone gets locked after screen timeout. But I want to lock the phone on demand as well. i.e. without waiting for screen timeout to occur.. As in nexus android phone there is hard button on top for making screen turn off and lock the phone. i have to do same functionality but by using soft key i.e. in a programmatic way. What are the APIs or routines that can help me ? Can someone point me for getting this functionality?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a datalogger which logs the gps data and the sensor data of the phone. I've just a strange problem. If the phone is not touched for few minutes it goes into standby mode (screen goes black), and that causes the logger to stop working. Actually the firewriting in the logger stops working. The GPS resumes fine after coming out of blackscreen, but when I check the log I created it only shows saved points for few minutes. Does anyone have idea what is causing this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just want to verify that my phone is off before bed, because I forget whether I've turned off my phone or whether it's just sleeping.I pick up my phone, but I can't verify that it's turned off without unintentionally turning it on, because the only way to check that I know of is to press the power/sleep button. Unfortunately, that will turn on the phone if I've already turned it off, and therefore I have to wait as it boots up, then power it down.Is there a way to verify that an Evo phone is turned off without turning it on in the process of verifying that it is off?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an activity that shows up when the phone screen goes to sleep/turns off ie turns black.
For some reason, the phone turns on when the volume buttons or the camera buttons are pressed. By turns on, I mean the screen wakes up or comes back from the black screen state.
I've tried using dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) and the buttons are disabled on the activity, but they still wake up the phone.
today my desire for the first time turned off by itself.it happened while the mobile internet was turned on and i was trying to load a youtube video. the phone just turned off. i turned it back on, and it turned off again.i managed to turn off the mobile internet, and the problem stopped. i tried watching the same youtube vid via wireless and the problem never happened.i then tried using google navigator with the mobile internet on and phone turned off once again. thing is i have had the phone for 2-3 months and this has never happened before. this morning my phone updated 3 apps, "quick settings", "advance task killer" and "google maps". could these updates be the source of the problem? o2 said to try the sim in another phone and rule out a network fault. still need to get round to doing that.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there an application that will turn off my EVO at a set(at bed time) time and can turn the EVO on in the morning (a set time)? I had a Blackberry and the phone could be program for that, but the HTC EVO can't do that out of the box!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI know the tabs have only been out for a short time, but has anyone seen an app for sync between an Android phone to the Tab? I would love the ability to have my phone in the other room and have my tab ring or show me I have an incoming/missed call or waiting text, on my phone. Even better would be the ability to read that text and respond via my tablet.

Is this normal for the off state?

View 7 Replies View Relateddoes this put the phone in silent mode whatever you are doing or does it only silent an incoming call? For me its hit and miss.it will ring/vibrate upside down, so then i have to turn it the right way and then turn it back upside down for it to go silent.this would have been ideal for me when in meetings, but if it only works if you turn it upside down when you get a call its not as useful.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've looked and haven't found anything similar. I use the HTC widgets to turn WiFi, GPS, and Mobile Network on and off for when I'm at home (WiFi) and out (GPS and 3G on).
I've noticed several times that, although the switches are in the right positions, when I'm out I have no data connection. No 3G in the status bar either. When I reboot the phone everything is fine, so it's not the area I'm in. Any ideas?
