View 1 RepliesI have a 3G (HSDPA) mobile phone, not Android nor a smart phone, which has Bluetooth DUN profile: I can already tether my laptop to it via Bluetooth.
I'm planning to buy a WiFi only tablet running Android and would like to tether it to my mobile phone the same way as the laptop.
Is there any application/ROM for Android tablets that supports such a use?I've tried a few Android phones (both stock and modded), but they don't seem to support Bluetooth tethering.
I am not scared to eventually do that in command line on the tablet, though. Please don't suggest WiFi tethering (as the phone has no WiFi) or USB tethering as both the tablet and the phone just work as devices, not host.
I have a [rooted] novo 7 Basic (running android 3.2) that I need to reverse tether to an ubuntu machine - through USB
Because this tablet (and other tablets) are not 'phones' - they don't have a native tethering option (which is required for most of the reverse tethering examples that are out there)
I can work with the device through adb - tried setting up a tunnel but I can't get any usb interface to show up with ifconfig
Maybe there is a way to just do it through abd with some ubuntu network configuration?
I just got 2 motorola Razr M phones. Both my wife and I have android tablets running ICS but different brands..Neither tablet can get to the internet with the Razr M hotspot. They connect to the phone and the phone reports them as connected. But I can't browse the internet. These are not mainstream tablets but they're good ones. They worked with my Droid X and the short time I had a Windows phone 8 they worked fine as well. I've not had any trouble until now. How can 2 droids not talk? I can solve the issue by using windows hosted network and connectifyme. Both tablets will connect to connectify me and get on the net through the phone that way. I'd just like to solve this issue rather than do a work around. Carrying a laptop just to route ICS is not very practical. I've tried everything including third party apps to no avail. Foxfi sucks so bad I had to do a factory reset to get rid of the lock screen password it creates now AND pdanet is now bundled with Foxfi so I can't even try USB tethering. I did try some USB tethering apps I found on Google Play but none of them worked. Both tablets are rooted. So is there a way to replace the network software? Is there a way to upgrade to Jelly Bean?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a BRONCHO brand crane-a710 tablet with Android ICS (OEM is not a global supplier). And, i have a Huawei K3765 3G USB modem which i use its phone feature with my pc. I want to use the voice call function of this USB dongle with my Android tablet but unfortunately can't. When i make a call to the modems phone while it is attached to tablet, i have the dialing tone on my cellular. But tablet doesn't seem to detect the call and it has no response. Also my tablet has no usable phone features (Phone, SMS and contacts functions are not presented). Now that's the question: Can i install phone featurs to my tablet (and where can i get the necessary files) or is there any phone mode Android ICS ROMs for my BRONCHO crane-a710 tablet???
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is probably a common problem, I saw lots of threads but I can't find any solutions to it, and I really want to make my phone faster i.e. root
Phone: LG P990 (Optimus 2x)
Phone not detected by the computer when connected through USB.
What I tried:
1. Factory reset (only data)
2. Cleaning the port with a toothbrush
3. Uninstalling and re-installing drivers
4. Replacing the cable I was using with the OEM one (I lost my original together with my charger)
5. Plugging into different computers and USB ports
6. Checking and unchecking the option of connecting through mass storage only
7. Enabling and disabling USB debugging
What's so incredible about my problem is that the phone actually knows that it is connected to the computer - the USB tethering option is available and it says that USB's connected - but the USB connection icon on the status bar for mass storage doesn't show up.
I'm about to get a new S3 and I have a perfectly good nexus S 4g.
Is it possible to install a rom that will make the phone function like the nexus 7? so my daughter can use it etc?
Is there any way to tether all of an android phone's capabilities to a tablet?
For reference, i'm not talking about wifi, i'm talking about turning a tablet into a phone using a phone. if that makes sense.
what I'd like to do is make/recieve calls/texts on my tablet using my phone. Not using some macguyver method of using google voice or any other service, but legitimately connecting the phone to the tablet to use it's phone number and everything.
i'm just about to get my tf300 and was wondering if it's possible to sync things between them for example photos. Also if there is a possibility to sync game data for example if I play angry birds on my phone then the progress would be synced to my tablet??

I know that there is an app called Xposed Framework, but... or I don't know the exact parameters, or this is not a solution.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3.
Assuming the following:
Android 2.3.7 device is connected to an IPv6 internet connection
Tethering is legal for your device/carrier
The ipv6-test gives 10/10 (perfect score) for IPv6 readiness for your phone, and you can access e.g. [URL] ..... using the phone itself
You want to tether to a PC using USB
Device is rooted
Is there a way to give the PC access to the phone's IPv6 internet connection?
I'm assuming that we can't give the PC a public IPv6 address, because the phone is probably only allotted one IPv6 address from the carrier; plus they might treat your plan differently or something if you try to claim another IP address (it's an unnecessary complexity)
So what we actually need to do is, to create a NAT IPv6 space on the device, just like we do for IPv4 when we tether, and provision an IP to the PC that way. Then we have to do something for DNS; I guess we can use OpenDNS's AAAA servers.
Do any of the existing tethering methods support this at all, or is this something I'd have to do manually? Also, is it possible even in theory on Android 2.3, or is it known that a newer version of Android will enable it?
I just switched over from iphone and ipad. I am getting my tablet today to go along with my galaxy s4. If i buy an app on my phone does it auto sync to my tablet as well?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to use an Android phone as a bluetooth headset for the Galaxy Tab (or any Android tablet for that matter)? im planning on getting T-Mobile's prepaid Android 2.2 phone and i want to keep my minute usage down by using Google Voice on the tablet. And since they both have bluetooth capabilities it should be possible to use it in this manner, right? I do not want to use one of those hideous, uncomfortable bluetooth headsets because im already going to have a bluetooth device (the phone) with me that im more comfortable using. Is there any way to do this or an app that enables this functionality?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a conundrum that I can't seem to work out from Googling. I suppose I will give the background then my question.
I use my xperia z2 tablet at the gym to watch TV shows because the treadmill is even more uninteresting than the landscape around my place. I don't like to be hooked up to it via headphones because I don't want to accidentally pull it over. So - I use a bluetooth audio receiver I plug my headphones into, and they receive the audio from the tablet (which is paired with the receiver).
I would prefer to just use my phone in place of the receiver, because the receiver is cheap and doesn't work so well (and i cant believe it can't be done).
I thought two options could be:
1 using the phone as a bluetooth receiver, or
2 somehow using the wifi hotspot on the phone to enable the audio from the tablet to play through the phone.
Does something already exist or is it even possible?
When I set up my tablet it synced a few apps from the play store, but since then I have installed a bunch of other ones on my phone that I want on my tablet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use Spotify on my phone, but a stupid app restriction allows me only to listen randomly chosen songs from an artist or a playlist. This doesn't happen on the tablet version hopefully, so I want to use the tablet version on my S4. I used the Xposed module "App Settings" in order to change the app's dpi to 240 and even to 160, but it doesn't change to tablet mode (although the app became nearly impossible to read because of the dpi). I assume that Spotify doesn't change its form by dpi then, what this app knows it's on a tablet?
