I got HTC Desire, and every time I search for Skype on the android market I get nothing! Like the software does not exist. How or were can I get it from?
Skype mobile for Verizon was launched this morning in the Android Market. Those with existing Skype accounts will have no problems setting up.People who dont have a Skype account can either set one up with the mobile app or set one up using the desktop software.I've been using it for a few hours now and I like it.It gives me my buddy list so that I can talk to all of my Skype friends, it allows me to use Skype to speak to other Skype users all over the country for free and even those without Skype numbers at a discounted rate.I have Skype with call out unlimited on my netbook for home and travel, I just use my netbook to make calls from my home.I think its a great application, anyone else whos using it now I'm interested in seeing what you think.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo after installing the FRF57 build of Froyo, I searched the Market for Skype Mobile, however it was not there. I found an .apk of it (version 1.0.0.6), but it doesn't support calls over WiFi. Can anyone tell me how I can get Skype Mobile to show in the 2.2 Market, or at least direct to a more current .apk of it?

The Skype Lite app does not allow calling.
I don't mind either calling using my local minutes OR using my data plan.
Are there any other applications that could assist me with this?

Iv reset my phone 3 times, and its the same thing evertime, WHATS GOING ON?
Also the market is running VERY SLOW on my phone.
Two weeks ago, after upgrading to 2.2 on my HTC Desire I lost the Market app - clicking on the short-cut produced an error and the market app has disappeared from the list of software.
Also, I don't seem to be able to install new programmes via app marketplace websites any more. I guess this is linked to the missing market app. How can I get it back?
The strange thing is, the only way for me to get this update is to re-flash the phone with the RUU WWE 2.10.405.2 file, but as soon as i do a factory reset the market will no longer update to the new version, strange to say the least.Could everyone please list the country, firmware and market version, this may help to find a reason for this strangeness.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to download an app, it just stays on the "starting download" screen with the flowing bar. Nothing happens! Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.
I currently cannot download anything, either via wi-fi or Mobile network.
I cannot download anything from the android market, it goes to start & then just stops & just shows starting download...what can i do to sort this...plus i keep getting a notifiication saying google talk authentication failed ( this is only just started since i changed from googlmail.com to gmai.com.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I've *finally* got my Desire after much hassle with T-Mobile, and it's shiny and lovely and new, but I can't access the Android Market When I open the Market app, it takes me to the page to set up my Google Account, I enter my details, it thinks about it for a minute or two, and then tells me that I 'don't have a network connection'. It asks if I want to connect to a Wifi hotspot, but I'm already connected to the wireless box in my flat. The Internet's working on my phone, because I've been surfing the web and going on Facebook, YouTube etc.

Looks like there is a limited choice for UK Android owners like myself so mileage may vary on what's available
following on a recent topic posted here is my question- how can I find out which version of Android Market am I running? If I go to Market and press "menu" button on the phone none of the options answers to my question.
My second question is- where is the "Update all" button in the Market. I can not see it anywhere.I am running Froyo 2.2, Orange branded Desire, stock ROM.
I have just bought a Desire HD, and it refuses to download from the Market. I select an app and it says 'Starting download and goes no further. Is it something I am doing, or is there a problem with the market? I have never managed to download anything so it could be something I am doing
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am very new to android, literally got my Desire HD yesterday. One thing I noticed, in the Google Android keynote speech this year, they seem to demonstrate a very different looking android market website. Control over buying apps and automatically having your phone install them remotely, etc. Is that something that coming soon?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a brand-new HTC Desire in front of me, and cannot get a couple of functions to work properly (yet), as for instance the facebook and mail widgets. I figured out that it would be a good start to get the newest versions of all those applications and widgets that make trouble, but when I try downloading anything using Android Market, the downloads get stuck at "Starting download...", apparently indefinitely. I have seen that others had this problem too, but I could not find a solution yet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince getting HTC's unbranded 2.2 on my Desire I'm no longer getting notifications about apps that have been updated on the Market. The notifications option is set to "Notify when items are updated" and I've tried various combinations of disabling and enabling it and rebooting the phone and still I'm not getting notifications for updates. I always got notified when I had 2.1.I've posted this a few times in the bugs thread, but it just gets lost in all the other talk, which is why I've started this thread.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to load the ApkInstaller from Android Market but I can't find it on there? Anyone else had any luck in finding it and installing it? I'm trying to load it after I read on Electripig that the Google Navigation and Directions app can be hacked and works fine (a free navigation service if it does). On one site it even shows a photo of the ApkInstaller on the Market and someone with a Desire even commented they've followed Electripig instructions for the App and it works perfectly but for the 'ell of me can I find it?
