Is there any keyboard app in the market that is similar to the skype keyboard. I love the skype keyboard but don't ever use skype. does anybody know if there is a better keyboard available, if so which one?

I am loving skype and getting faster. But I love the ability to talk to text with the native key keyboard. Any way to have both worlds with out having to change input method?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWas formerly using Swype and loved it, but this new keyboard is legit! It practically reads your mind and predicts the next word for you before you even start typing it. Not sure if I'm going to stick with it yet, but definitely going to give it a dry run for a bit.
View 40 Replies View RelatedI have been having typing issues with the HTC keyboard not seeming to support multitouch and I'm almost positive that it didn't i.e. when I'd hit two buttons at the same time only one would register leading to zillions of typos because I suck. Well anyway, I went and downloaded and installed the Skype keyboard, didn't like it, and went back to the HTC keyboard. Now it appears that after the Skype installation multitouch is magically enabled on the HTC keyboard.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSkype mobile for Verizon was launched this morning in the Android Market.Those with existing Skype accounts will have no problems setting up.People who dont have a Skype account can either set one up with the mobile app or set one up using the desktop software.I've been using it for a few hours now and I like it.It gives me my buddy list so that I can talk to all of my Skype friends, it allows me to use Skype to speak to other Skype users all over the country for free and even those without Skype numbers at a discounted rate.I have Skype with call out unlimited on my netbook for home and travel, I just use my netbook to make calls from my home.I think its a great application, anyone else whos using it now I'm interested in seeing what you think.

I found an .apk of it (version 1.0.0.6), but it doesn't support calls over WiFi. Can anyone tell me how I can get Skype Mobile to show in the 2.2 Market, or at least direct to a more current .apk of it?

Skype & Amazon Mp3 both give me the notification when trying to uninstall through Titanium: "failed to locate apk file".

I check my running services every once and awhile and often, Google Talk and Skype are running.
1. I have never run google talk
2. I installed Skype so I would have it when I need it but have restarted several times since then and forced it closed.
Why do these programs keep popping up and running? Are they using up memory/battery? Are they showing people that I am available for chatting/talking?
They are always running, I dont use them !! How do i remove them?

Is android similar in its functionality?
When I logoff Skype it deletes a random contact in my contact data. Does not happen every time but it happens enough to be a real pain. I have been monitoring this for about 3 weeks now. This is the only time I lose contacts. I always go to People - Menu - View before I logoff Skype to see how many contacts I have. It is so frustrating to see the number drop after I logoff Skype. Does anyone else have this problem? I feel it has to be a bug in the Skype application. I do see in Manage applications - Skype Mobile - Permissions that the application can read and write contact data. This supports what I am seeing. How do I go about getting this problem resolved?
