View 49 RepliesHere is what I would like to do:
I have an HTC Magic and I have a couple of contacts who I frequently talk with on skype. Is there anyway to talk with them skype-to-skype on the Android phone?
The Skype Lite app does not allow calling.
I don't mind either calling using my local minutes OR using my data plan.
Are there any other applications that could assist me with this?
I am about to have a HTC desire delivered and noticed that skype will not work on one! I also noticed that 3 netwok UK sells desires with skype working. I read that 3 uk are using a gateway to get calls to skype on the internet. Does anyone know how to set up a desire to use the 3 free skype service the same as they sell it for at 3 network? ALso does anyone have skype working at all on a desire?

I am not able to search for Skype or Handcent SMS on my Incredible what seems to be the problem?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install Skype on my phone and got the error "insufficient storage available". I have traced the problem to the bug in Skype that doesn't delete com.skype.raider or something like that. The only way to get rid of this file is to root and delete it from /data/data which is only accessed by rooting. I don't want to root, but I need Skype. I have heard you can temporarily root your phone. Does phone automaticaly go back to stock after you restart?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a cheap-ish, reasonable spec., probably secondhand Android phone for my daughter which must be capable of video (pref. 2 way) Skype-type calls via wifi.
It won't be having any kind of SIM (PAYG or contract) in it initially, but must function as Skype-type video phone via wifi - unless someone tells me that's not possible! I can put my own O2 SIM in it if necessary to set up whatever needs doing to make it function.
Is it possible to set up a phone in this way? (ie. to be able to make & receive Skype-type video calls without having a SIM card in it).
If it is - how exactly do I do it? Should I use Skype as a carrier or are there other providers who would do the job better/easier? Which Android phones will best do the job?
