View 9 RepliesIm on the acer liquid, recently updated to 2.1 and i foudn the Android MArket wont download. Ive looked around other forums, cleared caches of so many things which people tell people to do, ive logged in and out of GTalk and my email has never been changed to gmail, always googlemail. WTF is going on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the Android SDK and AVD manager and began downloading the packages but every time I try the download stalls about 20% of the way through it. Before it stalls, it downloads very slowly (about 30kb/ sec). Some more details: I'm running on Windows XP. I've tried turning SSL on and off from within the manager. I've also tried running it within Eclipse and also from the command line. Is there a debug mode or something to figure out what its doing? I would also be willing to try debugging it myself if the source to the AVD manager is available. I found the following discussion on the slow downloads, but haven't found anything on the stalling issue. http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/threa.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to download an app, it just stays on the "starting download" screen with the flowing bar. Nothing happens! Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.
I currently cannot download anything, either via wi-fi or Mobile network.
I cannot download anything from the android market, it goes to start & then just stops & just shows starting download...what can i do to sort this...plus i keep getting a notifiication saying google talk authentication failed ( this is only just started since i changed from googlmail.com to gmai.com.

View 14 Replies View RelatedJust got my HTC Desire today! Trying to download apps via the android market. Selected the app, and it tells me it will be downloaded. I go to the download section and the app says starting downloading and just stays at that. I have canceled and started again but no joy. Connected via Wireless connection and also tried mobile internet.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust a quick question...
Can people please confirm if the Android Market is down?
I cannot download apps to my DHD
Up Until two days ago the market app worked fine then for no apparent reason now only goes as far as starting download and goes no further. I have enen tried a factory reset losing everything but it still wont download anything. This is the same over wifi or 3g. Any one got any ideas? Does yours still work?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had one of those "Starting download" errors in the market for almost 3 months now (!) and I'm starting to get tired of it.
I'm using a Desire with android 2.2. My problem is this: I can download from satellite network, but not via Wifi at home. However, it seems to be a 1% chance (or close to that) of successful download using the Wifi.
I have logged in and out of Talk several times, did a couple of factory resets, formatted the SD card, cleared cache from HTC checkin service, market, google talk and downloader (if thats what its called in english). I tried to set the network as only WCDMA, only GSM and both auto, still no results. Everything else seems to work using the Wifi at home, except market. I called HTC for some help, and the only thing I got to know was that it wasn't my mobile operator, or other settings on my phone that caused this problem, and they also thougt it might be the network at home, which I too thought before talking to them. So I did a little research about that, and tried to open port 5228, even though that seemed weird, as it sometimes worked downloading. I also read about the change from googlemail.com to gmail.com, but I never had a "googlemail.com" address, so I hope this isnt the problem. Now HTC wants me to tell them if I can fix this, and how I did, so they probably have no clue either:S
I have also tried other things, which I don't remember right now, but if anyone can list up something to try, I'll see if I have done it or not.
I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data
Is there any non-market/market, fully functional free emulators I can download for older systems. I'm a broke college student.
View 1 Replies View RelatedVery often when i try to load a website the browser sits there and does nothing, no upstream or downstream, then, finally when the 3g arrows start doing something the page loads instantly. What is going on? Do i need a different browser?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know it's not just me...see link. Google's customer service is non-existent.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLast night I tried to download some apps from the Android Market. It doesn't seem to want to let me have anything any more. It'll bring up the progress bar and says "Starting download..." below it, but never gets any further than that. I've tried clearing the cache already with no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know Google is quite diligent when it comes to Data Warehousing. Beyond the simple 'Active Installs' and 'Total installs' I am sure they have a whole treasure chest of useful information like active versions, Android Release version, hardware, and uninstall reasons (based on the prompt users see while uninstalling) It sure would be nice if we could see (even a portion of) this somehow. Example - Out of 524 ppl to install version 0.5.4 80% uninstalled saying "Does not function", while only 12% of those on version 0.5.5 uninstalled. Wow Sure points to a bug in that version(0.5.4), how useful or at least it would be if we could see this stuff. If you think this would be useful, please star this issue; Share Market Statistics - http://code.google.com /p/android/issues/detail?id=4376 I know of 1 other ticket, but it is more focused on comments not quite on target; User Feedback - http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2150
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem downloading anything from the Market. I select a program, go to download it and I get the status bar saying 'starting download' but nothing else happens, I don't get the notification at the top of the screen saying it's downloading, nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRooted g1 running open eclair apps 2 sd 3partions. Phone says I have 167 mb in app partion the apps that won't download is 11 mb. I can download other apps just not documents to go and google maps, found it out when I got an update this morning.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince a couple of days I get the error "download has failed" when I download an app from the market. Doesn't matter using 2g, 3G or wifi. I've searched this forum and found some similar threads with possible solutions, but nothing seems to work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to Market and click on Menu and select Downloads there a list of apps, how do I clear that list?
View 4 Replies View Related3 applications now will not download from the Market. The say that they are starting to download, but don't...ever. What gives?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have published my app on Android Market. I have successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on my Moto Droid 10 days ago. My beta tester #1 successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on his Samsung Galaxy 8 days ago. My beta tester #2 gets "download unsuccessful" when she tries to dowload app from Market on her Motorola Droid X at 2010-10-28 4pm Central Std time USA (10pm GMT). She tried several times over a 30 minute period. When I uninstalled and tried to download my app during this same time period, it took longer than I expected, then finished and said Google Maps had "successfully updated". No mention that my app did or did not install. My app is not installed on my phone now.
Developer's Console shows no problem, 20 downloads, 4 active, no errors, no comments. (This app is industry specific and not workable without subscription to a website, etc.)
Does Market work perfectly everytime? Does it have good times and bad times? If you think it may be my app that is the problem, what / where should I look for as the problem?
I'm unable to download anything from the market this afternoon - is anyone else having problems?
