HTC Droid Eris :: Cannot Find Skype In Android Market After 2.1 Update?
Apr 14, 2010I had Skype a while ago but when I did the 2.1 ROM update I cant find it in the Android market? Is it because of the update or is it gone from the market.

Mar 25, 2010Skype mobile for Verizon was launched this morning in the Android Market.Those with existing Skype accounts will have no problems setting up.People who dont have a Skype account can either set one up with the mobile app or set one up using the desktop software.I've been using it for a few hours now and I like it.It gives me my buddy list so that I can talk to all of my Skype friends, it allows me to use Skype to speak to other Skype users all over the country for free and even those without Skype numbers at a discounted rate.I have Skype with call out unlimited on my netbook for home and travel, I just use my netbook to make calls from my home.I think its a great application, anyone else whos using it now I'm interested in seeing what you think.

I found an .apk of it (version 1.0.0.6), but it doesn't support calls over WiFi. I have an HTC Magic and I have a couple of contacts who I frequently talk with on skype. Is there anyway to talk with them skype-to-skype on the Android phone?
The Skype Lite app does not allow calling.
I don't mind either calling using my local minutes OR using my data plan.
Are there any other applications that could assist me with this?

Nov 19, 2009I have a new Droid Eris and have been having a really hard time finding apps that I read about in different places. I often find myself reviewing a very popular, top-rated app, then not being able to find it no matter how I search in the Market. These aren't usually obscure, ancient, one-off apps. I usually am hearing about them in 'top Android apps' articles, etc.
I usually search by the exact name, then alternate spellings. And I recently got the Barcode Scanner and am scanning the QR codes over at AndroLib.com to see if it's any easier. But I haven't gotten ANY of those to come up.
- What gives with the Android Market? Could I have something setup improperly?
I live in Los Angeles, so I doubt it's a location issue.
