May 27, 2010How do you send a text to multiple recipients in handcent? I thought it might be batch mode but I dont think thats it.

Oct 4, 2010I just got this phone and, thus, a new phone number. I'd like to text a group of contacts (~60 people) and tell them. Can I do it? I put my cursor in the "To:" textbox and then press the icon that lets me add people from my contact list, but after I select them and press "done," it says "The message must contain valid recipients and content."

I can see the text message, and above that (in the message's header) it shows the first two recipients, then ",....." indicating there are MORE people who have received the message. Jul 9, 2010I've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?

Nov 29, 2010I own the Moment, which I want to throw through Sprints windows, and randomly, with full bars, get Error 97 or Error 7 when attempting to send text using Handcent, I have called Sprint on this several times over the last month or 2, each times, they do whatever they do on their end, and it works for a while or it doesn't. I finally take it to the store today on advice from a tech saying there may be an antenna issue, the tech at the store says no issues and that handcent MIGHT be my issue. Anyone ELSE seeing these network errors with Handcent? I don't believe that's the issue and feel Sprint just doesn't want to deal with it.

Nov 29, 2009I tried searching for an answer to this, but had no luck. I've just ditched the stock Messaging App for Handcent and am really liking it (as many have here have said). BUT, when I send an MMS or even a simple text, I can't seem to send to email addresses that I had saved (I typically send to some phones and emails at the same time). I could do this with the stock app. Any ideas for me...I feel dizzy from looking through all the Handcent options and can't find anything.

Nov 10, 2010i have handcent as my default sms app which is alot better then the stock one. When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!

May 5, 2010I sent a text message to a bunch of my wife and a few friends, and my wife said she saw all of the recipients of the text message i sent in her msg. She has the BB Curve.
I'm thinking that the DINC is responsible for that, and not her BB. Is there anyway to change that?
It really doesn't impact me much, but it's a bit impersonal at times. For someone like Tiger Woods, I can see that sorta being an issue.
HTC Droid Eris :: No Option To Add Multiple Recipients
May 8, 2010Gmail itself receives email perfectly. The problem is when I compose an email, there is no option to add multiple recipients. The HTC mail app has an icon of a "person" next to the recipient (or "to" block). There is no such icon on the gmail app. There is a "to" block but no way to add multiple recipients. I have to manual type in a name (though it does recognize and try and auto finish the name). Am I missing something? Typing each name in for a mass email is a huge pain.

I downloaded the Handcent App and even it does the same thing as the stock app. It appears there's an option to split the message up as described when sent to a group. But it still creates the new thread whenever sending to individual names.

Dec 1, 2010I have sprint, my phone is an Epic and i love it! however when sending even a simple text i select "new message" the "to" box comes up. i have to start typing in a name to get contacts with similar names to start coming up, which i then select. then i have to repeat for the next contact...i have had cheaper phones that have allowed me to select recipients from my contact list. i have a friend who has Verizon, but has the same andrion platform (i think its a fascinate) and when she clicks on the "to" box, she gets a drop down menu that includes the word "contacts", as well as "recent calls". she clicks on that and goes right down the list selecting recipients...this is standard on her phone, as she did not dwld an app to allow this...MY epic wont do this...can i change a setting or something.

Today, when I was about to send out to the group that I've made with 35 people, the phone converted the sms to mms and could only send out to the first 25.
How can I solve this problem? I need to sms (and not mms) to 35 people. Can I download another sms application or something?

I understand that this happens by design on some networks if you're sending a text to more than 10 people at once, but I was only sending the same text to 2 people. I'm with T-Mobile and I have unlimited texts as part of my contract, but MMS messages cost 20p each, so obviously I don't want this to happen. Can this be changed so the messages send as regular texts?
