I just got this phone and, thus, a new phone number. I'd like to text a group of contacts (~60 people) and tell them. Can I do it? I put my cursor in the "To:" textbox and then press the icon that lets me add people from my contact list, but after I select them and press "done," it says "The message must contain valid recipients and content."

How do you send a text to multiple recipients in handcent? I thought it might be batch mode but I dont think thats it.

When I take a pic that I want to share, I'll tap "Share".
There, I will access the field to enter an email address that I want to send the photo to. If I have multiple people to send it to, do I have to type in each individual address, or is there a way to access my contact list somewhere so I can simply go through and select/click recipients?
Is there a way to select multiple people from the contacts list to send a text message to? I know I can type there names in the to field but I would rather be able to check off multiple names on the contacts. Is this a possibility, i need to send out a text blasts and need the easiest way to do it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedGmail itself receives email perfectly. The problem is when I compose an email, there is no option to add multiple recipients. The HTC mail app has an icon of a "person" next to the recipient (or "to" block). There is no such icon on the gmail app. There is a "to" block but no way to add multiple recipients. I have to manual type in a name (though it does recognize and try and auto finish the name). Am I missing something? Typing each name in for a mass email is a huge pain.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid on the day it came out, set up my email account that I have at GoDaddy.com with IMAP, and now on my GoDaddy webmail there is a new folder that has been created called "Sent." This is in addition to the folder that is called "Sent Items" that is already there by default. My problem, in addition to the new "Sent" folder, is this Every time I send an email from my phone, the message goes to the recipient just fine, but in the new "Sent" folder, the message gets duplicated many times. There can be anywhere from a single duplicate, to many, many more...so much so that my "Sent" folder over the course of a week, will contain upwards of 20,000 sent messages. The messages seem to continue duplicating also - there will be 3 duplicates for example, then an hour later there will be 9. This is madness!I have another email account (not godaddy) that I also have set up with IMAP and it has NO problems at all.

Edit: Well the problem actually was that I needed to enter a number, not a name, but a solution is the comma. I thought it would be similar to the way I was used to on my SE K750i. I'm thinking that the DINC is responsible for that, and not her BB. Is there anyway to change that?
It really doesn't impact me much, but it's a bit impersonal at times. For someone like Tiger Woods, I can see that sorta being an issue.
Is there a way for sending a single message to multiple recipients for the message to be placed inside the conversation for each individual instead of creating a new thread for that one message?
I downloaded the Handcent App and even it does the same thing as the stock app. It appears there's an option to split the message up as described when sent to a group. But it still creates the new thread whenever sending to individual names.
Does anyone know how to send the same text to multiple people at the same time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have sprint, my phone is an Epic and i love it! however when sending even a simple text i select "new message" the "to" box comes up. i have to start typing in a name to get contacts with similar names to start coming up, which i then select. then i have to repeat for the next contact...i have had cheaper phones that have allowed me to select recipients from my contact list. i have a friend who has Verizon, but has the same andrion platform (i think its a fascinate) and when she clicks on the "to" box, she gets a drop down menu that includes the word "contacts", as well as "recent calls". she clicks on that and goes right down the list selecting recipients...this is standard on her phone, as she did not dwld an app to allow this...MY epic wont do this...can i change a setting or something.

When I pull up contacts, I see options for voice call and IM, but not phone text. I looked everywhere I could find, checked to see that the contact was listed as a mobile number. Someone please take pity on me and tell me the secret !!!

I don't know what the problem is, but for some reason I've been getting like 5-10 duplicates of text messages from some people. It's usually different people at different times and it's on various carriers.

Today, when I was about to send out to the group that I've made with 35 people, the phone converted the sms to mms and could only send out to the first 25.
How can I solve this problem? I need to sms (and not mms) to 35 people. Can I download another sms application or something?
I've been sending SMS messages just fine, however recently I tried sending a text message to two contacts, and one of them never received anything. However when trying to send a message to that same person only, it worked fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone else tried/got this message but I have the stock messaging app and accidentally sent over the 160 character limit and instead of getting the verizon message that says it only sends the first 160 characters to non-verizon customers. I got a message that read "messages sent to non-verizon customers over 160 characters are sent as plain text in multiple segments". Looks like verizon is now splitting text messages for us. Just thought I would pass this along to everyone. Only problem I have seen so far is every time you go over the 160 limit verizon sends you that message every single time kinda gets annoying.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my x a few days ago and have never had a smartphone (i'm coming from the Dare)...i was trying to send a picture in a text message today, and it sent it horizontal... i took the picture vertically...and when i attached it to my text message it sent it sideways. so i rotated the picture 90 degrees and sent it, and it was still sideways.... anyone know how to fix this? i take most of my pics vertically...and i don't want them posting to facebook or sent to my fam sideways!

It's happened a few times over the last few days. A little red envelope appears with something that looks like a timer. Message eventually sends, but several minutes later.
