Is it possible to make a group of contacts i could name as favorites so i don't have to scroll through all my contacts when i want to send a text to multiple people at once?

How do I set up a message group so I can send the same text to multiple people at the same time? I used to do this on my nokia but cannot find the way on the x10

I've only been an Android/HTC Hero user for about a week now, and have a weird thing happening with my Hero. I've probably done something to cause this, but, I can't figure it out.
I have several contacts in my People list, and most of them have multiple phone numbers listed with them. When I choose People, and then say my sister, who has two mobile numbers, a work number and a home number, I get a small detailed card that pretty much fills the screen and allows me to choose a number to call mobile, call home, call work, then it says send message to each number, send email.
But, say when I choose my wife, I can only Call Other, Edit Contact, Delete Contact and Send Contact as vCard.
It didn't used to do this. It used to give me these choices for my wife too. My wife has a home number, a cell number, a truck number, I need to be able to text her cell, etc. Basically, I need the same options for her as I have for my sister.
I have the same issue with many of my contacts. I don't know what happened to cause this. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Hopefully, I won't have to do a master reset to do so!
when I'm at the phone screen and hit menu/people/groups icon(multiple cards) you have the option to "add group" at the top or hit menu again and 2 options appear: Add Group or Delete Group. Either of these options are not functional. They don't work. It seems that HTC forgot to add functionality for this. Does anyone have a solution for this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHave any of you have success sending a picture to multiple contacts at once? I use Handcent Sms for my texts. I tried once and it didn't send anything. All I saw was the little green icon to the right of the text loading and loading like it was trying to send it. I tried to send a pic to 3 people at once. I canceled the picture and tried to individually send the picture and it wouldn't do it. I had kill the app and turn my Hero off and turn it back on in order for it to work.

I have tried both the stock messaging app and SMS go, and both fail miserably when receiving and sending texts that are in a group thread, I receive them all separately and send them all separately. Is there an app to do this?

1. Is it me or have they removed the Search feature in the People app in 2.1? I'm in People, then click Menu and the Search feature was right there; has it been moved or removed? 2. I also responded to another post in a different phone forum about the missing Phone "Favorites" sub-feature in 2.1. Anyone know where that is? You can add a contact from your recently called list to your "Favorites" by hard pressing the contact name, but there's no associated Favorites app to go along with it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

I have several contact groups setup in google Voice/Gmail. I cannot seem to access/send to these groups via my Droid Gmail/Voice application. Handcent is the only application I have that seems to be able to send a single message to one of my google groups. Anyone have an idea on how I can send an email to a group via google?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with sending text messages to a few people and they aren't even all on the same carrier.I have been using CM 5.0.6.1 and really haven't had any problem until today.I switched to the stock 2.1 with root because i thought that maybe it was the rom and still these people can't receive my text messages they can send me messages and I receive them but I cannot send them out.I have reactivated my phone twice now and nothing has worked.Any help would be much appreciated.I know I said in the title i can't receive them but I can sorry i'm kind of tired at the moment.

I go to activity and there are 3 different People app in there and none of the 3 actually open my contacts. I don't know what to do to fix it or do i just have to use the crappy icon for people with Bettercuts?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using Google Voice on my Env Touch for about a year now but only mainly for the sms transcriptions as the Env Touch doesn't have an app for it.
So, here's my main problem. All of my contacts are just in my phone. I don't have anyone's email address as all I do mainly is txt people or send them a message on facebook. I'm wanting to add all of my contacts to my gmail account so when I get my Incredible everything will be there. Right now my sms from GV just has the number and I actually don't know any of my friends numbers, they're just in my phone. *yes, technology can be a sort of burden at times* So I don't have a clue who the voicemail is from until I call into it. Is there any easy way of porting all these contacts from either my phone, backup assistant, or facebook? Also, do android phones take your contacts and your facebook and merge them into your gmail account?
Alright so I REALLY need to create a group contact folder. You see I have to manage about 10 guys and its convenient that they all have cellphones whats NOT convenient is I can't find a way to put them into a group and text them with one group message! I need to make sure these guys show up to where they are needed and texting all 10 of them separately is a pain in the rear end. So far the other threads don't seam of any use.

I have no way to access my contacts (people) and choose more than one contact without having to keep adding one contact at a time. I want to be able to choose several contacts and add them at the same time. Gmail support said click on the gmail icon in the upper left hand corner, but there is none. What do I need to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing that I noticed from this phone, nexus one, is that you, the user, can not select people from your contacts when writing a text.. you would have to first go through your contacts and then choose one specific person to text... how would you do a mass text message... I want to have the choice of selecting who I want to receive the text after I write it... has any one felt the same way?? Has some tried to solve this "problem"

I've tried going to the favorite group under "People". I remove the people and they are removed. I check the People widget on my home page and they are gone. I wait 15minutes, check again and they are back in favorites.
I've tried going to the individual contacts and removing them from favorites. Same problem.

I put my cursor in the "To:" textbox and then press the icon that lets me add people from my contact list, but after I select them and press "done," it says "The message must contain valid recipients and content."
