I have a few people that send me texts, when I go to reply via Handcent it give me an error "Your Message has no valid recipients". When i switch and try to reply via Messaging the text simply fails to be delivered.

how to see the *other* recipients of a group text message I receive in Handcent? Example: I receive a text in Handcent to my Note 2 phone. I can see the text message, and above that (in the message's header) it shows the first two recipients, then ",....." indicating there are MORE people who have received the message. Is there any way I can see a complete list of the recipients?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently started having an issue when I try to save a picture from a picture message on handcent. I cannot see the picture in my gallery only until I reboot the phone. With the regular droid messaging program, the pictures appear right away. I am not sure if this is an issue since I am now running 2.2 on my droid. Anybody else having the same issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a captivate. When I compose a text message the persons number initially shows up as the ten digits. Now when I close out of the text message and try to go back and serbs something the persons number shows up as only 7 digits. When I try to send a text with only the 7 numbers I get a return error message saying
8852662 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number.
Is there a way for sending a single message to multiple recipients for the message to be placed inside the conversation for each individual instead of creating a new thread for that one message?
I downloaded the Handcent App and even it does the same thing as the stock app. It appears there's an option to split the message up as described when sent to a group. But it still creates the new thread whenever sending to individual names.
If I send a text message to multiple recipients it sends as an MMS. I understand that this happens by design on some networks if you're sending a text to more than 10 people at once, but I was only sending the same text to 2 people. I'm with T-Mobile and I have unlimited texts as part of my contract, but MMS messages cost 20p each, so obviously I don't want this to happen. Can this be changed so the messages send as regular texts?

I put my cursor in the "To:" textbox and then press the icon that lets me add people from my contact list, but after I select them and press "done," it says "The message must contain valid recipients and content."

There, I will access the field to enter an email address that I want to send the photo to. If I have multiple people to send it to, do I have to type in each individual address, or is there a way to access my contact list somewhere so I can simply go through and select/click recipients?
I have been using Handcent for just under a month. I like it very much. I have a question though. Since I no longer use ATK and been observing using System Panel; I notice that both are still running ACTIVE. Handscent has more CPU time then Message. More then half my txts come up as a quick text over the lock screen.Is that pulling from Handcent or Message?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
when the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent.But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

I tried that and when I use Handcent it still says the message is not delivered and sometimes it just flat out sends a blank message.The text is going to an email not an actual phone number but I'd like to keep handcent because I really like the pop up and the GUI. View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I updated (finally!!) to 2.1 OTA on Saturday morning. Ever since then, my Handcent app has been acting strangely. Seems at least half of the txts I send generate an "Undelivered message" error, and there's that lil red 'x' next to the msg in the convo. Thing is, I've checked with friends, and the texts are in fact being sent just fine. Anyone else having this problem? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent, to no avail. It's really annoying to have to delete the "undelivered messages" every time. Plus then I have no record on my phone of that sent txt.

The only problem is that i can not figure out a way to have the widget take me into handcent (rather then the htc native messaging app) when i hit either the list or compose butttons at the bottom of the widget. Anyone have any ideas or will the widget just always connect with the htc app?

Whenever I receive a message though, the sound is VERY faint and almost silent. The media volume is all the way up... Is this a phone or Handcent problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Handcent as my SMS program. I try to delete all threads (I have test history) and it doesn't take effect. All threads are still there after it asks me. I have cleared data and cache's on both the stock and Handcent apps in my app manager. When trying to delete all threads with my stock program, my phone typically freezes up and forces close. Anyone have similiar experiences, have answers? I even uninstalled Handcent thinking that would clear everything, re-installed and everything was still there.

I am now getting emails from users who have the HTC Droid Incredible phone that they are getting the error message I have added to the app that is showing the DeviceID being returned is not valid - which means it is either empty/null or the default ID used in the emulator. I require a valid DeviceID to use my app, and the permissions are all set fine in the XML. It works just fine on every other device, and now suddenly it seems to stop working on this phone. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone find out what is causing it? Does HTC now block this ID on this device?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded and been using Handcent app for my messages, its a really good app dose everything i wanted out of a message app.How ever there is one thing i cant see to get working, I'm using the HTC desire and every time i resevice a message it shows i have a message on the handcent icon on my home screen that works great. Its when i lock the keypad and unlock the keypad i still get the last message showing up on the lock screen and the notification bar at the top is still displying the message icon even tho i have read the last message. i have been thru the setting and cant find out to turn this off or to use handcent has my default messaging app.

This was a major blow to me as I coach a softball team and have to send out a text message to 15 or more people every week. It worked before Froyo but not anymore.
Handcent allows this, so I switched over to it. But now I am getting double notifications when I receive a text message. How do I turn "off" the stock text messaging app?
I'm using handcent and have disabled the message notifications in the stock messaging application but what i still get is a pop-up message window from the stock app showing the message and i can reply in that app if i wish, however, handcent widget will still show one unread sms message and i would have to go read the message via handcent to get rid of the new sms icon etc.
Of course I could ignore the stock app's pop-up window and close it, go to hancent and read / reply that way but what i want is just visual and audible notifications from hancent. I don't want the stock messaging app to do anything at all. (T-mobile G2 on Version 1.5)
