I did a search but came up empty. Is there an app for un-rooted phones that will allow you to turn the phone off without using the power button? I know i will have to use the button to turn it back on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Desire Bravo C I rooted it with clockwork mod and I went into the boot loader and clicked wipe data/factory reset I didn't know what it meant but now I cant turn on my phone! I can still load the boot loader menu and access restore..when I try to restore from a backup via the recovery menu it says the fallowing
-Restoring Data android_secure.img not found. Skipping restore of /sdcard/.android_secure.
-Restoring Cache sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext/.
-Restore Complete! I power it off then it puts me right back into bootloader.
Anyone find a way to turn off or at least dim the LED backlight for the softkeys on a rooted phone? It's blinding at night especially when trying to use Google Sky Map.

3) Click "temp unroot".
4) When done watching movie go to ota rootkeeper and restore root.
Every time you want to use Google play you must do this.

1) Is it more important now to have a "pattern-protected" lock screen?
2) Do I need to create a unique password for SU access?
3) Do I need to be more concerned malware or data swiping from market apps?
I love my recently rooted Droid but assume that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Is my assumption correct, or do I need not be concerned?

I've also however heard that sometimes it still gets back to the carrier and they cancel your service. I've been using my tethering in very small doses because I'm not sure if big red is monitoring me. If they aren't I want to take full advantage of the tethering feature.

Just picked up the EVO 4G and looking to root in order to remove the Sprint apps and other bloatware (Peep, Footprints, etc.). I'm just trying to find out if it will be possible to use OTA Sprint firmware updates (i.e. the inevitable 2.2 down the road) once the phone is rooted, and if so, will it reset the phone (delete all data) or merely revoke root access? Down the line, I'm not so concerned about having root access, mostly right now with removing the excess.

I was wondering if any1 has made a revolution theme for stock rooted droids. I was running cm 6 with revolution theme remix but the battery was horrible at even 550 speeds. I really like the themes but hate the battery life of roms.

View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday i decided to root my xperia tipo, and i did that, and I also did CWM recovery and right after, i tried to install a new ROM. I found some "Xperia Z Fire Series 5 XP [Tipo]" rom and followed the instructions from yt....backed up, wiped everything, wiped cach, wiped the cache in advanced ( cant remember the name ) and than I installed the rom from phone sd memory... it showed as if succesfully installed. Finally, the video guy says that i should reboot the device (the first option in boot window) and to wait as long as it takes.
So I did...I rebooted it and it just turned off...i left it whole night, hoping it will boot up eventually, but it didn't...After I realised it wont, i tried to turn it on, but when i hold the power button, it's just vibrating every few seconds for half a sec as if it will turn on, but it doesn't. The light doesn't turn on, nothing shows up on screen....when i push the volume down and power button at the same time, along with vibrating, the led light goes green every few seconds. When i put the charger in, it doesn't do anything. Only diffrence is that when i put it on the charger and than press volume down and power button, the led light turns green and it doesnt turn off untill i unplugg it. Is this what they meant when they said "bricked phone"?
Is there an app (or any simple way of creating one) that can turn bluetooth on when phone on charge and turn it off when taken off charge.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Tmobile rooted Samsung Galaxy S III, I was running a nightly Cyanogenmod 10 ROM. Yesterday there was an update for that rom and I downloaded it and installed it, everything was fine and running smoothly until some people started telling me that they were not able to reach me by phone. I tried checking what was wrong and I finally realized that whenever I have my mobile data on or while I am using it I don't receive voice calls. I tried looking everywhere for a way to fix this and I came across the ##DATA# code in which I could turn off the DDTM option but unfortunately my phone doesn't recognize that code.
this is the message I get every time I try to enter ##3282# code.
I thought that maybe something was wrong with the ROM itself so i decided to browse around here for one for my Tmobile samsung galaxy S 3 and I decided to install this one [ROM][4.2.2][RC1] LiquidSmooth ROMs - d2tmo - 2|14|13
after wiping data/cache and dalvik cache I installed this ROM and this is my current phone info and still when I am using my mobile data I cant receive calls nor put the ##DATA# code to turn off DDTM.
is there any other way I could access that DDTM option?
Another thing I realized is that even tho I did the factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and data cache on recovery mode my phone still says it only has 4gb free on its internal memory, isn't it supposed to be completely free after wiping all that stuff?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (rooted) running os 4.3
I trying to find a way to disable the lockscreen completly so I can use widget locker instead without having to swipe twice every time.
I have tried setting the standard lock screen to none but it still starts with the standard swipe lockscreen - I have also tried alot of different apps (noLock, no lock screen, etc) but none of them are able to disable the lockscreen.
I have also searched for solutions (here and a lot of other sites) but a lot of people suggest its a bug in os 4.3.
Running os 4.3 have succesfully been able to disable the standard lock screen.
So I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?
