I was wondering if any1 has made a revolution theme for stock rooted droids. I was running cm 6 with revolution theme remix but the battery was horrible at even 550 speeds. I really like the themes but hate the battery life of roms.

I have virtuous 3.1.0 installed on my phone and was thinking about installing the Revolution theme. If I do install this theme and decide it doesn't work out for me how would I get the stock theme back on here that came with virtuous 3.1.0. I would have to install the whole virtuous 3.1.0 rom again would I?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI remember all the ruckus about security concerns for jailbroken iPhones, and after talking to a friend with one of these devices, I began to wonder if there were any similar concerns I should have with a rooted Droid?
1) Is it more important now to have a "pattern-protected" lock screen?
2) Do I need to create a unique password for SU access?
3) Do I need to be more concerned malware or data swiping from market apps?
I love my recently rooted Droid but assume that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Is my assumption correct, or do I need not be concerned?
I thought It would be nice if people listed the applications that don't work for them, and then say what ROM they are using that It doesn't work on Bugless Beauty.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got a TF101, factory stock HC rom, I installed revolution HD (ICS) and it's a nice rom, but it has a few quirks with ICS...so I really really want it to go back to stock rooted + cwm HC, *just* that.
I've tried using cwm 5.5.0.4 and flashing directly the file ww_epad_user-8.6.6.19 which is a HC already prerooted + cwm that I found on the specific XDA forum section, but whenever I reboot the system, go to "about tablet", the SAME firmware is installed (4.0.3) and build number android revolution 3.0.1...I've tried wiping cache, dalvik, tried different roms, using adb to mess around, NOTHING takes me out of revolution HD back to stock.
I am new at this so please excuse my ignorance on rooting. I am wanting to go from stock 2.1 to rooted 2.2. How exactly do I do this? can use the easy root app?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAll files needed are available on my web site: Android - whiterabbit.org unless you still need to root your phone or downgrade to 2.0.1, the files needed for that will be linked to from those guides. The purpose of installing this way is to use the original OTA updates from Google, and only modify them enough to have root access. When you are done, you will have a system that is capable of installing the next OTA (gingerbread) when it arrives. Hopefully we will be able to patch it in the same way to keep root. This is only for people who don't want to run custom roms, but still want to have root.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm currently rooted (Easy Root) on a stock ROM D1 (2.2 FRG01B) and I receivced an OTA update this morning - most likely FRG22D. I've made a nandroid back up and a ROM backup before I made any changes. So far, I've only removed some of the bloatware from the stock ROM - 5 or 6 programs.Do I unroot, install the update and reroot? Is it that easy? Or do I have to install one of the backups?

I have had BBV0.4, 928 black glass theme, running @ 1.1GHz for a while now and I have no complaints. Would it be worth it to switch to the stock rooted FRG22, or wait for the devs to put out custom ROMs based on FRG22. I know they put some nice tweaks in the custom ROMs. I'm feeling the itch to switch, but I don't want to do it for no real advantages.

We are both rooted and on CM nightlies, however, after experiencing some instability, he suggested bumping my lower speed limit from 250 to 500. I'm still in the process of testing if that resolves the problem.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with conclusive proof that the Droid does (or doesn't) underclock itself when stock (i.e. without the assistance of setCPU).
Let me rephrase my question:
Does the stock Android OS adjust the processor frequency dynamically as needed (like setCPU does). If so, to what degree (i.e. 250-550 MHZ as needed)?
I am new to this whole droid scene and I had 2.0.1 rooted and rommed out but I am currently running stock 2.1 and wanted to know if there is any info on the progress of a new root process to root this firmware version. I really liked having the ability to control all aspects of my phone, including the nandroid recovery. I don't want to risk bricking my phone by trying to revert back to 2.0.1 using the RSD program.

Everything went perfect, however, now I am having trouble finding a kernel that will work. Have tried P3s and jdflg's which say they are for 2.1 but neither booted.
